sharwoo Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 this is an idea, not necessarily good, since a democracy is flawed by the distribution of intelligence and bell curves and various maths, but imagine if a park say, six flags, were to present some options to the public, about a new ride they wish to build, and create an interactive voting experience, and/or devise a system in order to take submissions of general design concepts , but ensuring that the people they reached were knowledgeable in the realm of coasters do any suppose it is conceivable that major amusement parks may take into consideration the opinions of enthusiasts, who have a eye and soul for quality that those in the public do not, although one would think the design companies themselves also have these standards, if not higher, do you think they ever would peruse forums like these, for instant, that magic mountain might look here to see what people are saying about their new ride announcement, and that they might be influenced by what we feel they should do ?
KGA29 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Dollywood and SDC used to (still?) do this. They would have kind of a survey thing with a bunch of different ride options and see what people thought of them. Actually, now that I think about it, Paramount Parks did it too. That's how the Italian Job coasters were built.
Top Thrill Dragster Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 ^^ Wow, that was the longest sentence I have ever read!
sharwoo Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 ^^ Wow, that was the longest sentence I have ever read! gee, mine was longer Dollywood and SDC used to (still?) do this. That's how the Italian Job coasters were built. i'd like to learn more about this !
Wes Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Sharwoo, thanks for joining TPR. If you could possibly try to make your posts more "legible" by using proper sentences, grammar, punctuation and capitalization. Your current posts kind of looking like strange free verse poetry that's hard to read. Please refer to the posting rules: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21962 Thanks.

Rumor has it that mystery mine was the reincarnated version but that myth was busted by a park official.
Vid_w Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Well, Gardaland has recently posted a kind of survey for a 2011 coaster. the options are Flaying, Dive and Tower coaster...
matteocrepaldi Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Gardaland also did it to chose the theming for their Vekoma mine train.

Rumor has it that mystery mine was the reincarnated version but that myth was busted by a park official. Well, they are kind of similar. I still wish the Disk'O had been enclosed and had an animatronic bear. (And of course the bear thing kinda sorta happened with Timber Tower.)
sharwoo Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 my posts are supremely legible and often devoid of mechanisms that impede the understanding of streams of information , like jazz while not a metaphysical board the evolution of communication is learning to bend beyond words to a deeper awareness

Would it not be less total effort for you to bend to what the rest of us already understand, than for all of us to have to work to understand your concept of legibility? /Jazz sucks.
knowit Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 And you won't sound like someone who thinks they are above everyone else here because you think you are on a higher level of conciseness. Jazz doesn't suck, it's just misunderstood. To be able to play all those caotic notes and still keep a time signature takes incredible skill.

netdvn Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Flaying, Dive and Tower coaster Flaying coaster? A coaster that rips the skin off your body? Count me out. ^^Tower coaster? It's a Eurofighter... my posts are supremely legible and often devoid of mechanisms that impede the understanding of streams of information , like jazz while not a metaphysical board the evolution of communication is learning to bend beyond words to a deeper awareness The post IS legible, but without the caps and punctuation, it's a lot harder to read and all those big words make it difficult to understand. But back on topic, parks create polls/surveys to determine what new rides/attractions to place all the time. I know Herschend did it with DW and the former Paramount Parks also released surveys to figure out which rides to add next.
