robbalvey Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 Is there any other media players that would work? Quicktime doesn't seem to want to work. I tried deleting the program but came with "fatal error sign". Â Jeff Quicktime works just fine. That's what I play it in. You may need to go to Apple and get the latest version as this is compressed with H.264 and I think you need the latest version in order to play it. Â --Robb
gotdane Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 If you're having trouble downloading, just try again. Â The first time I downloaded it it "finished" at 28mb...but I tried again and it downloaded all 530someoddmb just fine.

Yes, the file is flagged so that everyone has 3 chances to download it before it will give you the "access denied" error.  Please just try it again.  Just curious, how many people did it actually WORK for?  --Robb
csikoth Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 It is working for me now since i used Vlc Media player. Â Jeff
coastersrule85 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Thank you sooooooo much!! This is by far the best Christmas gift I've gotten this year! lol I'm downloading it now...41 mb so far...sounds like I have a way to go. I hope everybody had a great Black Friday without too much carnage on their shopping trips, and thanks again so much, Rob!
coolhandluke Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 As mentioned before, worked flawlessly for me. Â Mac OS and Apple Quicktime and Apple's iTunes. No glitches at all, and on Ohio State's email, it was there as soon as I logged in. Â My download screen says "Decompression Failed", but that has had no effect on being able to unzip it/access it/watch it.
robbalvey Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 Do you guys think if we did a downloadable version in the future I shouldn't zip it and instead just allow the download of the .mp4 directly? Â --Robb
traincrossin Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 ^Maybe you could have both options. When compressed it only saves you something like 4mb. It worked perfectly for me and on vista to. I'm 10 minutes in and lovin' it! Thanks again Robb for an early christmas gift.
Gav Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 ^^Whoever sent that first email to you evidently didn't like a zip. Â ...compressing a already compressed video is pretty much pointless...
sixflagscoasters Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 If you're having trouble downloading, just try again. The first time I downloaded it it "finished" at 28mb...but I tried again and it downloaded all 530someoddmb just fine. I hope you don't mind.  Thanks for your time and help.  Thanks again for the Free Gift.
robbalvey Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 ^ I've never used Getitright and don't know anything about it. You know more about it than I do, sorry! Â ^Maybe you could have both options. When compressed it only saves you something like 4mb. It worked perfectly for me and on vista to. I'm 10 minutes in and lovin' it! Thanks again Robb for an early christmas gift. Â The only problem with having two options is that I think additional options may confuse people. Because if you choose one, and it doesn't work, there isn't a way to choose the other without going back through the store system again. Â I know it doesn't save much, but I was at least able to put the "readme" instructions in with it. Â And I worry that if you can download an .mp4 directly then it would try to download and open in your QT player or browser and not give the option to save to the hard drive. Â But these are things maybe I'll do another test with! Â Thank you everyone for downloading this and helping out! Â --Robb
ratdogg68 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Worked fine for me. Thank you Rob for taking the time to share this with us.
lil jimmy norton Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Thank you much sir, I am downloading it now. Much praise, much praise.
coaster_dude2002 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 No problems with the download, worked on the first attempt and it was ridiculously fast. Â My download screen says "Decompression Failed", but that has had no effect on being able to unzip it/access it/watch it. Â I had the same problem with my Mac. Unzipped it a second time and it worked perfectly.
packfanlv Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 It worked great for me last night. No problems at all. Thanks again!
rollercoasterfreak91 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Thanks Robb, this is seriously sweet. Guess what I'll be doing on the 7 hour drive back to SoCal?
taytig Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Thanks again Robb - it worked fine for me - I got the email in about 2 minutes and downloaded in less that 5 minutes - (gotta love my work's internet connection). I started watching the video and I am impressed. Thanks! Â Your CDN neighbour from the north! Â David
coasterdude5 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Do you guys think if we did a downloadable version in the future I shouldn't zip it and instead just allow the download of the .mp4 directly? --Robb  If it saves alot bandwidth, I'd say stick with it. If it's not that big of a difference then go with the direct file.
downunder Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Thanks Robb, it worked fine, took about 41 minutes to download on Australian cable broadband (aka fraudband). Â It was fun to see familiar faces as they were 7 years ago.
lil jimmy norton Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Laughs, love, good music, and I'm only fifteen minutes in.
AlexG8462 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Every time I try to download it, a message says, "Access denied. You do not have permissions to access this file" What do I do?
