^^ - Yeah man, I didn't really know what I was saying - just making the point that in the original phase of design, the ride was "tested." When I think of designs and blueprints, my mind always goes for "AutoCAD" even though I am aware that there are particular software's better suited for whatever purpose (or perhaps no software at all).

So yeah, kidding.

At least you didn't bust me for grammar!

^ Had this been on a forum that I help moderate, then, yeah, I'd have called you on that, being that poor grammar is one of my biggest peeves.

Anyway, 100 years ago, engineering wooden coasters was pretty much by the seat of your pants. And they worked just fine. Of course there were no Son of Beasts back then---most rides of the day weren't any bigger than our own Terminator here. They built it, and if it didn't work, they lowered or raised a hill, increased or decreased the banking of a turn, etc.

Talking about the track profile made me think about that little hop coming out of the deadman turn. If done right, that will provide quite a pop of air, and I do look forward to it.

^ I have a feeling that is going to be one of my favorite parts of the ride. I love small obscure elements. Like the random bank on Tatsu after the ride photo. I am getting anxious for Terminator. Just a little over a week.

You can't rely on computer testing. That's more of a guesstimate.

I would imagine the programs they use to design these coasters are far more accurate than you think.

However, testing the coaster in a CAD program won't tell you if you need to make adjustments to brakes, senors, etc.

Just throwing this up for so cal peoples. It's a contest a horrible radio station, (like most radio stations) in the Inland Empire, is running this week. I don't think the station is available in the LA area but you should be able to stream it from the radio stations website. X103.9 FM

Here's what the info says:

"Listen all week for your chance to score tickets to see Terminator Salvation at the studio lot on May 21st AND you'll also get bussed to Six Flags Magic Mountain where you'll get to ride Terminator Salvation before anyone else! Just listen for the cue to call and be caller 10 by dialing 909-890-10-10!"

Just got a call from some people who witnessed that Terminator successfully tested tonight!

Congrats guys!

I should be able to get some testing video this weekend. They will only be able to test at night so it might be kind of hard to get some good shots.

Just wanted to pass this long!

Aw that's great to hear! I'm mad that it's only at night though, that means I probably can't get footage on Sunday, oh well, maybe I'll at least get to spot a test run

I wish I could have had the chance to ride it. We were just their Tuesday and and just missed the opening buy two weeks.

^^So they can be super secret about things! It's all very hush hush in the world of coaster wars! You don't want to blow all of your trade secrets by letting those ACC black ops spies infiltrate the enemy lines and perloin your tradmarks! It's a dog eat dog world in the amusement industry! Or in this case a wrinkled old man eat a beagle!

If your talking about this weekend you'll probably have alot of trouble seeing it from the inside of hurricane harbor seeing as how harbor doesn't open til the 23'rd.
