Mr. Starr Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Haha that girl on Mindbender was such a loser! "THIS GOES UPSIDE DOWN!" (As she looks at the THREE very obvious loops) The GP these days...
HHN Dylan Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 There is another one on in 10 minutes!!! (Haha, the second i saw this topic i said to my sister "Remind me in 10 minutes")
astroworldfan1 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 A Great Adventure employee said Kingda Ka means "King of Coasters". I thought Kingda Ka meant "Tiger". Danian is about to come on! Again, even Coaster Enthuisasts are saying "The Kingda Ka". -Tatum
spaceace12 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Wow, the person on Ka was wearing ski goggles.
astroworldfan1 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 The POV on some of the coasters weren't that great. Too bad Robb didn't do the filming on the coasters. Then, it'd look really, really professional. -Tatum
CycloneMan Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 HAHA! I saw me (in orange) Did anyone catch my tounge thing -Dainan "Awesome" Rafferty
typo86 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 It was a pretty good show, nice footage. It annoys me though when people boast about rides with false information...TTD, the first 400', 100mph coaster...but I guess whatever sells...Fahrenheit looks nice, that was the first time Ive seen it in action...
Fate Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Well, it wasn't too bad, but I think it's weird that they didn't mention Maverick or El Toro at all while at CP and SFGAdv. I haven't been on either one yet, but they seem like the best rides in their respective parks to me. I guess they figure people watching the show only want to see the fastest and tallest rides out there, not necessarily the "kind of tall but really intense" coasters.
TheHulk Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 They just got done talking about MF. I never knew you could see Canada from the top. LOL! But as said, a coaster show is a coaster show, and I love it!

You beat me to it! I noticed that too. The general public wouldn't know the difference but for us it's kind of annoying.
HHN Dylan Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I thought it was a good show in general, the facts were just ehhh though. ^^^^^Agreed, Rob should have done some of the POV's. Lmao, what was that guys name coastin bobby or something?
TheHulk Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 ^ Coastin' Steve I think it was. But yea, now that show makes me want to head up to West Ed and ride Mind Bender. Grr, I live in FL though.

They said first coaster to break the 400' mark. Not that it's 400ft.
Y2J2003Y2J Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 They were also saying Fahrenheit was the steepest coaster in the United States when Steel Hawg is truly the steepest.
PeoplemoverMatt Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 It was a pretty good show, nice footage. They said first coaster to break the 400' mark. Not that it's 400ft. And that would be false information. TTD is not the first to break 400ft.
dragsterfan420 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Dragster was the first full circuit coaster to break the 400 foot, 100mph mark. Superman's just more of a thrill ride not a coaster.
PeoplemoverMatt Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Dragster was the first full circuit coaster to break the 400 foot, 100mph mark. Superman's just more of a thrill ride not a coaster. Dude, trust me, you've got about 8 years of flame war on that particular issue that has come before you. S:TE is a roller coaster, just like Wicked Twister is, just like any other shuttle coaster is.
dragsterfan420 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 ^I know it's a coaster. I should've said " 'To me' Superman is more of a thrill ride than a coaster." I wasn't trying to start a big argument or anything.
Rollerman87 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Just watched it, and was picking out all the little details the whole way through. At one point my mom asked me who I was talking to (just so you know, I'm just going into college and am not crazy... well, not completely crazy ). It bugged me how they showed TTD and Kingda Ka, the supossed "King of Coasters" *Bullcrap* and they didn't mention that they both use the same launch system. It was funny to watch though, because it was essentially a show for GP who wanted to feel like enthusiasts. That Terminal Velocity did look sick though! Oh, and does anyone happen to know who that "Coastin' Steve" guy was? An Acer, or just some guy who's a nut on another website? (you know, much like our beloved Big Mike) PS- I could pick this apart, and it would be fun, but I'd rather wait and see how the topic evolves I think Robb should do a full blown documentary (has he?) and see if Travel Channel wants to air it Blow the GP's minds!
Top Thrill Dragster Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 That Terminal Velocity did look sick though! It really isn't that great, bungee jumping is far more thrilling since you are in control. I thought the show was meh. I loved how the Cedar Point and Hershey Park PR's rewrote history.
Dr. Coasterboy Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Cedar Point usually does that when its being talked about on TV.
Rollerman87 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 ^^Yep, cause Fahrenheit and TTD are so original. Fahrenheit is a newer version of Maverick, essentially, and TTD's original brother is Xcelerator here at Knott's But TTD and Kingda Ka are apparently not alike either My "favorite" part of the show was the Firehawk segment. That was the only one where I was seriously annoyed with all the people involved. New? Future? It's an old ride that got a new paint job and new trains. The B&M Flyers are more revolutionary than the Dutchman. And the guy they had doing the "commentary" during the ride was a real winner
coasterdude5 Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 Well, it wasn't too bad, but I think it's weird that they didn't mention Maverick or El Toro at all while at CP and SFGAdv. I guess they figure people watching the show only want to see the fastest and tallest rides out there, not necessarily the "kind of tall but really intense" coasters. I think it's because some people would notice the similarities between it and Fahrenheit. Which one's newer? Millenium Force still has enough of the wow factor to make its own segment. Anybody notice the wha...girl in the Fahrenheit station freaking out? Calm down, you're not on Stormrunner. I wonder if Coastin' Steve is registered here...(nice goggles) I thought it was a great show. Nothing more than I would expect, but it was still a good show. Maybe this will bring a few more in the future.
Dr. Coasterboy Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Ha! Yeah she was a little too scared. I'm not even scared of Storm Runner or Drop Zone (Drop Tower...another bad name, Cedar Fair?). I'm a pure adrenaline junkie.
