Gerstlauer (Tony Hawks Big Spin, Pandemonium, Spinning Dragons)

VS

Maurer Sohne (Spider, Spinball Whizzer, Dragon's Fury, Crush's Coaster)

Which manufacturer of spinning coaster do you guys think is better?

IMO, the Maurer Sohne spinning coasters are vastly superior. Their layout is much more intense, they have this little vertical curve that I really like, and I greatly prefer the outwards-facing seating to the face-off seating on the Gerstlauer spinners.

The THBSs, the only Gerstlauer spinners I've tried, are average coasters at best, IMO.

Maurer Sohne hands down! Not even close.

Similar to asking who is a better Major Leaguer: Alex Rodriguez or Adam Everett

I'm a fan of Dragon's Fury, too--even though it made me so queasy I could only ride it twice during ERT.

What??!!? How DARE you leave out WINJAS!!!!

Seriously, Winjas and Dragon's Fury are two of the best "underrated" coasters out there.

Maurer Sohne easilly.

Although only the custom models would I consder much better. The stock models like at Seabreeze and Waldameer I find less fun then then the custom models.

Although there is quite the difference between the Gerstlauer's, even with the layouts being the same. Some spin great, like Rajin Cajun at Great America, some don't spin at all and just plain suck (like the one at Cypress Gardens).

Exterminator at Kennywood though I like a lot, probably more then the stock Mauer's.

Those coasters were manufactured by Zamperla. Exterminator is a Reverchon ride if I'm not mistaken...

Gerstlauer were the guys who built rides like Tony Hawk's Big Spin, Timberline Twister, and Pandemonium.

Maurer Sohne for me!

As said already, Dragon's Fury is just the best spinning coaster out there

I haven't been in the coasters mentioned by the first poster but i have to backup robb. Just came back from my yearly trip to phantasialand and winja's fear and force kick ass.

Not only do they deliver an incredible fun ride but the are also great for spectators.

Personally I like Fear the most.

I don't even understand how someone could vote Gerstlauer over Mauer? Can someone who voted this way please explain?

I do believe that Winjas is in my top 20 steel!!!!

I always get those mixed up.

I think I actually liked Timberline Twister better then the stock Mauer's, bu still not as good as the customs.

Damn I suck, I voted for Maurer Sohne then realized I have not been on a Gerstluar spinner yet, oops. BUT I doubt any of them could really beat Winjas for me, that ride is just plain amazing!

I've only been on one of each, so I didn't feel I had enough of a sample to form an opinion. ...But I did think that Spider was better than Pandemonium.
