boldikus Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 ^Psychotic Meth Fueled Reindeer Flight" would be more apt - don't you think? Has a nice ring to it but you forgot the "sponsored by Snickers" part.

coasterbill Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Awesome! I can't wait to check it out. I'm intrigued by the Holiday Magic Show. I also like that they have 2 major stage shows as opposed to only one at Great Adventure.
coasterbill Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 I see Mind Eraser is becoming Reindeer's Flight South Park predicted this...

Highridin Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Lights are on out front now! Would take a pic, but that traffic light never turns red when the park is closed.
TBpony414 Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Can't wait for this!!! They'd be smart to start some heavy advertising. I'll be checking it out early and hopefully spreading the good word about how great it is. I'm expecting with less than half the park open but xmas lights added is going to be better than the entire dry and wet park on a perfect day with no crowds.
Jason Maier Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 It'll be interesting to see how the crowds will be (considering Batwing and Superman: Ride of Steel will be closed).
Highridin Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Yeah, me too. I think it'll have more to do with a huge section like Gotham being closed. We'll see next week. I will do a thorough trip report. If I miss something, I'll do an addendum report...lol.. Looking forward to seeing that through way. There are actually many lights not on in the pic.
coasterbill Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I doubt many people will care that those rides aren't open. Thrill rides are never the draw for these events. The crowd dynamic shifts heavily towards families with strollers / small kids. Generally lines for family rides are longer than the coaster lines.

I had 'almost' all walkons at GAdv last year. Though, I'm sure we are all excited to know that Apocalyse will be open; really looking forward to it. If I, well when I ride, during HITP, it'll just be Wild One and Roar. During cold days at FF (every year), Wild One does very well. Below 45 though, we'll see.
djcoastermark Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 I must say, this looks really cool. I know the park gets a lot of hate, but when we went we had a lot of fun. It helped though that it was a very slow weekend. The park reminded me of Geauga Lake in a way. Not quite the big leagues, but great for a regional park. We go there after we've done Kings and Busch for just a bit of old fashioned fun. Just some coasters and some flats, a few cocktails. It is what it is. Old time fun.
Highridin Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 The front looks really cool. I'll try to get a pic soon.
alilstronger Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I'll be going this Saturday night after going to the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Hotel near DC. I know this park gets lots of hate. However, its my home park and I try to stand behind it. It is a lot better then it was about 5-6 years ago. They cleaned it up and are at least trying to have better service. The park itself is nice - decent coaster line up and great water park. Its honestly the people who work and go there that make it crap. I am excited for this new Xmas celebration they are doing and I hope it does well so they can continue to do it. When I talked to the park earlier in the summer they said almost everything will be open for this HITP event, however I know things change.
coasterbill Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 This park (in my opinion) is a raging dumpster fire but the front half of it is reasonably nice looking and that's the portion that will be open for this event (the back looks like somebody plopped down pre-built coaster designs on flat ground in Rollercoaster Tycoon and ran out of money for trees, bathrooms and scenery objects). I have no doubt that Oak Island Creative won't disappoint though and HITP will be great. Here's the map. They were right, most coasters will be open. Just not the good ones
CoasterDirected Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Nothing says Christmas like being abused by an SLC!
djackson Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 I hate when people bring up that clientele bull when they are talking about the park. The park can't control who wants to make a visit to a place intended for fun. Honestly at the end of the day the park is just worried about how much money they are gonna make not who is giving them money.

Not so bad either. Must have been a while since you have been there.
