Between the stadium erection, and all the wood, its caused my wood to stand erect.

And I thought we were pretty bad with our descriptions and conversations out at the park (our little CGA group has had some very interesting conversations to say the least ).

I remember myself making some...noises...on Orbit during one visit. I couldn't help but utter them! Anton was doing His very finest that day, and I enjoyed every second of the forceful, firm approach that He is known for. This coming season, I'll have to do a trip report featuring Orbit in a way inspired by R.D.'s Schwarzporn TRs.

Glad to see that there's lots of sprucing up going on around the park! May as well, right? Especially with their new toy that will be up and running real soon! I wonder if the Showtime Theater will get repainted to match the Pizza Orleans place...

Not sure I've seen very many pics of GS from this angle. Looks like the last few bits of the lift have just gone up. Thankfully my old Namco keycard still works in the parking garage!

Anyone remember the cheese pizza they had around the late 1990's? To this day me and my brother swear it was the greatest pizza anywhere!

Is that an archway/'do not stand up' sign? Or is that just the top of a bent? It's hard to tell from the just about straight on profile.

 

It also made me wonder...is the drop going to be covered? Anyway, it looks like it's just about ready to peak, just a few more bents to go! Also looks like that bottom of the drop is just beginning to swoop upwards!

Definitely an archway. It's kind of hard to tell from that angle, but the tracks definitely lead up to the wood at the bottom of the arch.

Thanks for sharing that pic! I guess I was looking for an American Flag for it to be "officially topped" lol. *UPDATE: according to Ryan, there are two more bents to go till Gold Striker reaches it's peak!

I drove by there the other night and the lift hill looks taller than it would seem to be, it's really cool!

I believe they are going for theming, it looks like the wood supports in a gold mine. That's what I think when I see it. They have the same stuff over the bunny hill past the station too. See below to the left of the lift.

^Maybe I should have clarified...I heard about some theming (no real details) from one of my contacts who was at the park last week, onsite taking a tour of the construction site. To further solidify my above post, they were speaking with some of the guys from GCI about various things.

I'm glad to see it being topped out. The dive under the track, then the bents over the bunny hill look awesome. They are going to provide some great head chopper effects.

Would be cool to see some lanterns with flickering led's. Wouldn't do much in the day, but at night it would add more atmosphere.

Looks great! Only a few more months until we can ride it! I love how it towers over the buildings. It makes it look a lot more impressive.

I like how, from ground level, the office buildings are blocked by the coaster's lift and drop. I will now feel like I'm in an amusement park and not in a business district.

Same here! There's already those archways that cover the speed hill (head choppers + airtime = possible "oh poo-poo!" moment). I wonder if the whole first drop will be covered, that would be a nice touch!
