Meteornotes
OK, posts that complain about the flyer not being posted yet or whatever are going to be deleted. The details will be posted in plenty of time before the event, as they have always been done in the past. Just be patient, please. Thank you. dt
Johnny Upsidedown
What do you need to know about the event. Most likely this is what will happen Show up at 830am for check in. Hour ERT on Behmouth and the other 5 major rides in the park. Free time till lunch at about 12 -1 pm. Maybe a tour and a group photo after lunch. More free time. ERT at night on Behmouth and and a few other rides. Cost about 40 -50 dollars, maybe 20 -30 for season passers. Setting up these events takes so much more time and work then anybody can imagine, 100s of emails and phone calls take place to get things set up. Its not like you just call the park and they agree. Permission has to be granted from the top people in the park. These events are a money loss issue for the parks. The cost to operate coasters does not get equaled buy the small amount of entrance fees these events bring. Take 6 coasters with 4 people a ride plus all the security, you have to get maintainance in early, overtime pay or extra employees = costly event for the park. . ROB will put the information up when the he gets the final details and approvals from the park. Does it really matter when the information is put up. You know the date and Morning ERT is at 9am. Make your travel plans accordingly. Sorry but it only takes a little common sense to figure things out and that things take time to put together. denning
I am not so concerned about the flyer, I am concerned about the event filling up, if there is a list I want to get it on and give my downpayment. After riding Behometh I can tell you right now this is an event I DON"T want to miss.
kris182_2000
A couple of days ago I PM'd Robb for details, none yet, the suspense is killing me I'm going on Sunday to get my season's passes with my husband and another couple so we can get the discount. I can't wait to meet everyone. My husband will have to get the day off work though since it's a Monday. But we're looking forward to meeting some new people and having a blast. I will submit a review, my very first one, just have to make sure I have enough batteries for the day. Why would you PM Robb? He's stated a million times in here that there's PLENTY of time left before the date and the details will come as they're available! Why would PM'ing him result in anything different, besides maybe you getting banned? Kudos to Robb and Elissa for managing to stay relatively sane through all of the impatient jerks who can't read a simple thread and all of the morons who insist on making pointless posts throughout the forum! I can't imagine what your e-mail or PM inboxes must look like... I PM'd to ask only about that day, that's all I'm interested in since I live near the park. I'm going to write a Behemoth review today, I just got home from riding it
robbalvey
Hey everyone! Sorry about the delay in getting information. The park has been really busy since Behemoth opened so it's taken longer than expected. The good news is that I'm actually meeting with their marketing department on Monday to discuss the event! (and of course take a ride on Behemoth!) I'll post something as soon as I can. --Robb
chemical_echo
Thanks for the update. Question though, depending if the factory I work at is going to be open or not that day (Civic Holiday) I'd have to miss the morning ERT. Would I still be able to show up for the rest of the day and evening ERT?
robbalvey
^ I'm not sure. I'll have to talk to the park and see what can be done. I'm not sure if there will be a way for us to get you the event packet once morning pick-up has closed. At West Coast Bash we were able to leave some items at will call, but at other parks, if you didn't enter with the group, it wasn't possible to get your materials to you unless we came back out and met you at the front, and that's not always possible. --Robb

kris182_2000
Enjoy the ride when you're there. The Toronto Sun put in an article a few days ago, and neglected to write anything about TPR, but splashed ACE in their article a few times. If anyone wants to read the article, I'll scan it in and post it up. It's going to be a long day isn't it? I'll have to see if my husband can book off Monday and Tuesday, since a long day will mean a long drive home. I was telling him about all the trips you all take, and told him we'd get to meet an eclectic group of people, and he's starting to look forward to it. I can't think of a better way to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary than to hang out with some cool people and ride some rides. Can't wait for the update. kris182_2000
May is fast approaching its end, and I'm planning a vacation for around that time. Would like to do the day trip, take the next day off, then drive to CP for about a week. However, in order to do that, I really need to confirm well in advance that this will happen. Hope you had fun, we're all itching for an update.
Mozart67
Work is weird this summer, and I'm planning one trip besides the Big E and Six Flagawams, so I'll definitely let you know in the next little bit. Mohegan Sun is opening Casino of the Wind (we're calling it Breaking of the Wind..) in a month so things will be SNAFU. Will def. let you know one way or the other, but right now, it's looking yes. Because I dont travel a lot anymore, is a passport/visa required for crossing into Canada? If this has been covered, sorry. Cheers! Scott

rollin_n_coastin
Hey Robb and Elissa, since I had to back out of the east coast add-on, please count me for Behemoth Bash at the very least! Definitely look forward to it! I have a pass as well. Cheers, J
Carnage
Because I dont travel a lot anymore, is a passport/visa required for crossing into Canada? If this has been covered, sorry. Visa is not required. But you do need either a birth certificate+photo ID or a passport. Passport will give you the least hassles at the border. As long as you're an American citizen with a clean criminal record you should have no problems.
kris182_2000
Desperately seeking an update, I don't know if I'll be able to book time off of work if I don't get one soon.
RBOrrell
Because I dont travel a lot anymore, is a passport/visa required for crossing into Canada? If this has been covered, sorry. Visa is not required. But you do need either a birth certificate+photo ID or a passport. Passport will give you the least hassles at the border. As long as you're an American citizen with a clean criminal record you should have no problems. This is correct. Just a word of caution and I am not trying to be a fear-monger. Canadian Border Security Agency over the last 18 + months have begun using the same database that US Customs and US Law Enforcement agencies use. The Canadian Government has stated that persons with criminal records will not be admitted into the country - unless rehabilitated. While this seems like a good idea, a number of US citizens have found that under Canadian law, they have a criminal record and will be turned back. The item on their record most commonly is what we call "Impaired Driving" but is usually listed as DUI or DWI. It seems that most US states do not consider this a serious enough crime - a misdemeanour level. In Canada, this is a felony, it is serious and it will be treated as such. So, what to do.... If a significiant period of time has lapsed, you can apply for a "pass" to prove that you have been rehabilitated. This should be done in conjunction with an Immigration Lawyer and in contact with your closest Canadian Embassy or Consulate. If your conviction has been recent or frequent and they pull up your record at the border. The CBSA officer has the decision making authority to allow or deny entry. This is from the CBSA web site: People can be denied a visa, refused admission or removed from Canada for a number of reasons. Security They have engaged in, or there are reasonable grounds to believe they will engage in, spying, subversion or terrorism, or they belong to organizations that have engaged in, or will engage in, these activities. Human or international rights violations They have committed war crimes or crimes against humanity. They are or were senior members or officials of a government that has committed acts of terrorism, major human rights violations, genocide, war crimes or crimes against humanity. Serious criminality They have, or there are reasonable grounds to believe they have, committed a crime punishable by a maximum of 10 years of incarceration. Other criminality They have, or there are reasonable grounds to believe they have, committed an indictable crime. They commit an offence such as possessing or importing narcotics, while seeking entry to Canada. Organized crime They belong to an organization that is believed to take part in organized criminal activity or to engage in transnational crimes such as people smuggling, trafficking in people or money laundering. Health They may be a danger to public health or cause excessive demands on Canada's health or social services. Financial They are unable or unwilling to support themselves and their dependants. Misrepresentation They provide officers with false information or withhold information that is directly relevant to a decision under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). Non-compliance They contravene the requirements of IRPA. Some examples include the following: not having a valid passport or visa; entering as visitors and remaining longer than authorized; trying to re-enter without the written permission of the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, after being deported; working or attending school without the appropriate permit; and breaching conditions imposed when they were first admitted to Canada. Like I said, I do not wish to put anyone into a panic. However, I have seen a bunch of people on cruise ships that were departing from Vancouver being denied entry because when they were 21 years old they had a few drinks, drove and got caught. In some cases it was 20 - 30 years ago. My advice when crossing the border, answer truthfully and don't try to be a smart-a$$. If you have a passport it's best. If you have a record, and they ask you if you do.... they already know the answer - they are checking your mettle. On the positive side, if you're clean "WELCOME TO MY COUNTRY". Make sure that you have at least one real Canadian beer, a cup of Tim Hortons coffee and try the poutine. We're nice folks.... really.
PCW_Nut
Hey everyone...like many, we are all very excited about the chance to experience a true TPR outing...for most of us, it will be our first...and trust me, I've read the posts, and want to ensure that I am not trying to nag or anything like that, but is there any update on this day such as cost? That's kind of the main thing I am looking to find out...I am coming regardless, just curious to get an idea of cost and all that fun stuff. I know a lot of planning goes into these events to add the unique TPR twist, so I will be patient, but just thought I'd throw the question out there to see if we had an update. Thanks in advance, and Robb, you never did let us know what you think of Behemoth from when you came up recently. Thanks - Josh

rollin_n_coastin
Definitely looking forward to this as well! Maybe the ACE event at Wonderland can give us an idea of pricing (see below)? Although this this isn't our pricing and each group is negotiated seperately, this can maybe give you an idea of what to budget for. We'll have to wait until the final details come out for official pricing. Like Carnage said, the Europe trip coming on Friday. Anyone going to that btw? sixflagsguy5
I'm considering doing this one. I've never been to any parks out of the US and I was hoping to do the upper NY/ Canada parks this summer. It sounds like a sweet event though. I could probably get most of my credits just during the ERT
