Hey Big Mike! I'm in Myrtle Beach. The OD Pavilion only has the two coasters listed on RCDB. A Go-Gator and a Zyklon. They had told me they had a new coaster for 2013 but that was not true as both these coasters were new fdr 2012.

This is not only my first ever post in the Big Mike Road Show but also my first post on a TPR forum. One day months back I had come across this thread and started reading it. That was probably about 7 months ago and last night I finally finished reading all 762 pages of the great adventures of the Big Man. This thread is awesome and it was so much fun to read and play all the find the ducky games even though they had ended sometimes 3 years prior. I would love to meet you sometime and hang out. Good luck on riding every coaster in the U.S. and completing your 50 always wanted to do list.

Hello Valuable Big Mike Readers!!!

 

Big Mike is all set to bring to you his 2013 coaster season reports with new pictures and best of all, his quest to ride EVERY SINGLE COASTER IN THE USA!!!

 

This thread is the place to follow along with The Mighty Big Man as he stakes claim to being ranked #1 in the whole world at being closest to riding every coaster in the United States!!

 

This is also the thread to have up to date information on every coaster that opens and closes in the USA, along with Big Mike's coaster count and current number left to ride in the USA!

 

As of press time, Big Mike has ridden 1254 coasters at 419 parks, with 35 park visits this year so far, and with 37 coasters to go in the USA and 21 establishments left with a coaster in the USA that he has not visited yet.

 

Even better news to top all that, Big Mike has found a great new girlfriend after dumping that last piece of dirty cheating trash, and she is debuting on today's update!!!

 

This first update of 2013 comes to you from The Funplex in New Jersey! The Funplex opened up a brand new roller coaster back in March, which was the 2nd coaster in the USA to open behind Outlaw Run!

 

Of course, everyone and their uncle covered the Outlaw Run opening, but only Big Mike was there at The Funplex to bring you the opening day festivities!

Big Mike visits The Fun Plex in his home state of New Jersey for the opening of the New for 2013 roller coaster, The Fun Coaster!

The new coaster opens March 30th at noon, and Big Mike is there that same day to be the first person to ride it!

It is good business to have a well known World traveler of coasters be on hand to be the first to ride!

Well hello new coaster credit!

It makes Big Mike's ultimate goal of riding every single coaster in the USA more difficult when a new coaster opens in the USA, but it is also an exciting time to ride new coasters too, since there are not many left for The Mighty Big Man!

At noon when the Fun Coaster officially opens, Big Mike's coaster count of needed coasters to ride in the USA will go up by 1, but as you can see from the time on the ticket, it will go back down by 1 very shortly after that!

Exactly at noon, Big Mike hops on board with his lovely new girlfriend Kathy (Little K) and takes the first ride of the day!

Who better to open a brand new coaster in his home state than Good Ole Big Mike???

Now that the official business of Big Mike opening the Fun Plex's new for 2013 coaster up is over, Big Mike changes from the Official Big Mike Road Show T-shirt to his casual every day look to show everyone else the rest of the Fun Plex and to also put a serious beat down on Little K in a Best of 5 Champions tournament of various events!

I also ran into my good buddy Keith Johnson too!!

Little K tried her hardest, but Big Mike prevailed 3 games to none to take the lead 1 event to nothing over Little K!

Go Karts were also event #2 in the Tournament of Champions!

Big Mike dispalys the #1 finger as this was a forgone conclusion as Big Mike is a master Go Cart racer, winning the event 4 races to 1 to go up 2 events to none on the day.

There are also two mini golf courses on property, which was event #3.

Big Mike and Little K played both courses and Big Mike conquered them both and just like that, the best of 5 Tournament of Champions was over as Big Mike mathematically eliminated Little K

There was also a shooting dark ride game which was event #4, but as most loyal Big Mike readers already know, Big Mike can't be beaten at shooting dark rides!

Little K decided to give it a try anyway!

Of course, she found out it is extremely hard to win when you are going up against a superstar who is considered "Legendary" with his top score of the day!

Big Mike 4 events to none.

Lazer Runner was the last event in the Tournament of Champions.

Lets just say Big Mike may or may not have thrown the last event to let Little K salvage any dignity that she may have had left

As well, there was also an outdoor water park that they could not justify opening in March in New Jersey.

Finally, there are bumper boats but it is a little hard to show you when there are no boats set up yet.

It was a great day spent at the Fun Plex, from being guest of honor to the Tournament of Champions, to riding a new coaster, and enjoying a fantastic establishment!

Best of all, it was great sharing the fun with a new special gal who is just beginning to experience what it is like to be a part of The Big Mike Road Show!!!

GRAND CHAMPION ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT!!!

 

Everyone who found a ducky at a park or guessed a Find the Ducky contest correctly has been entered into the Grand Prize Drawing!!!

 

I took the list straight off page #1 in exact order of the draft picks and there will now be 8 rounds of eliminations until only one person is left and is declared Grand Champion and can collect the Grand Prize of a free 2014 season pass or a one week condo stay!

 

The rules are very simple, everyone is matched up with an odd number vs. an even number. During the MEGA MILLIONS drawing on Tuesday, July 9th, whatever the Mega Ball number is, odd or even (there are 46 mega ball numbers, so it is equal), either all the odds advance or all the evens advance! Example - If the Mega Ball is 19 which is an odd number, everyone with an odd number in front of their name advances (1,3,5,7 etc). Once round #1 is done, everyone who advanced will be re-numbered in exact order and begin round #2. We will go from 144 in round one to 72 in round 2, to 36 in round 3, to 18 in round 4, then we will have a special round where only 2 people get eliminated in round 5 down to 16, then to 8 , then to 4, then to 2, and then we will have our sole survivor and Grand Champion!!!

 

Easy peasy!!! It is kind of like having to win a coin flip 9 times in a row, but one person will do it!
