Big Mike
Yes, we now have 2 Jeffs. The original Jeff is my coaster mentor. Both Jeffs are great guys! Nagro - Thanks for saying hello! Your WTF response was probably a lot like mine when I found out Tony actually knew all about my Road Show and Bikini pictures lol. I appreciate you coming in and trying to inform us about On Point. Word does travel fast around here though Seems like my little thread is taking on a life of it's own! Who would have knew that so many people enjoy reading about my coaster adventures??? It still baffles me lol. Newly met Jeff - (Sure I could call him young Jeff since everyone else calls the other Jeff old all the time, but I have never called him old and never will. Thats just not my style. Yes, I did follow wrestling for awhile, actually really enjoyed watching it. I thought it was funny and hysterical, and a good form of entertainment. I don't watch it anymore though. Since you asked though, and I always love to please all the Big Mike Readers whenever I can, I am going to start a new segment every once in a while to break up all the coaster reports! The new segment willl be called "Big Mike Back Then". So, there is no time like the present, so here is "BIG MIKE BACK THEN" edition #1: Back in the day when Big Mike was into wrestling, Big Mike got to call a match with Maven, the Tough Enough winner. I still have the video and audio, but no talent to figure out how to put it on here. Maybe some of you will like to look at Terri Runnels since you have been depraved on bikini photos. My favorite wrestler I ever met was The Rock, but Hulk Hogan was a close 2nd. With the Triple Crown just getting finished, here is a time sensitive photo. In honor of my Wings just winning the Stanley Cup, here is Big Mike at the last banner raising at the Joe. I had a choice of CoasterMania or another Red Wing parade. Since I have already been to a parade, I chose CoasterMania. I hope you enjoyed this debut edition of Big Mike Back Then. Waldameer update is next! 307
Big Mike! I was at WrestleMania 18, too! In fact, I was in that line for the Hogan autograph! Were you as pissed off as everyone else in the line was when you thought SPIKE DUDLEY was the wrestler you just waited 35 minutes in line to meet? I remember when Hogan came out, the whole place went bonkers!!! I used to be a massive WWF/WWE fan, but it's gone downhill so, so much in the past few years that it's almost completely unwatchable. I've lived in Toronto/surrounding area my whole life and still don't have the Toronto Island Monster credit! Maybe that will change this year, though. Y2J2003Y2J
Thats awesome you got to meet all of those talent. I went to WrestleMania 23 last year in Detroit and it was amazing. The only WWE stars I have met were Jackie Gayda, Chris Nowinski, and Hillbilly Jim. I think this Big Mike Back Then will be a good addition to this thread. This is like your ongoing autobiography. I look forward to the next time the Big Mike Road Show rolls through Ohio. Let me know when your coming within my reach to any of the parks around me and I'll join up with you again. bobafett
I like the Big Mike Back Then updates. If you can, post some more pics of you back in the day. I like to see what people looked like in earlier decades. Sadly our own Big Brown lost at the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. He came in last place. Oh well, can't win them all. Lovin all the pics and reports. Can't wait for Morey' and Clementon. Keep up the great work.
Big Mike
Bobbi Jo - Did you get your official UPS Big Brown pin??? Jeff - Next time in Ohio, for sure! 307 - Indeed, that Fan Axxess was in Toronto! I agree with you completely that I lost all interest in it lately as it was not as fun and entertaining to me anymore. I am glad I went to Centreville, that was a nice time. I am glad you liked Big Mike Back Then. I will try it again when the time and moment arise that I can contribute something relevant. Peace, Big Mike
Not For Sale
I went to get an egg sandwich today and at the deli there was a sandwich called the Big Mike. The Big Mike is: 3 eggs, american cheese, sausage or ham or bacon, and hash browns on a hero. I couldn't bring myself to buy it.
Big Mike
Hey Bryan! That sandwich sounds awesome! Since you live pretty close to me, what town was that in? I may have to stop by and try it!!! Peace, Big Mike
STR8FXXXINEDGE
So I'm driving through the city today and look what I see! Big Mike, you're becoming a real celebrity! Big Mike Road Show 2008 Billboard Downtown!

There's no way that I could afford to do all the traveling that you do, so I need to live through you, haha.
MattyD
That billboard is brilliant - now if only we could find a way to really get it put up!!! I haven't posted in your thread for quite a while now because I have been so busy enjoying your adventures I haven't got around to commenting on anything! It's great to see the self-promotion's going well (onpoint and a billboard - bravo!) and you're still enjoying the roadshow! Keep up the good work Mike! Big Mike
Hey my good friends!!! Everyone is soooo cool on here, your the best! The Big Mike Road Show 2008 continues and this time with stops at Waldameer in PA to ride the New for 2008 coaster Ravine Flyer 2!!! Also, a stop at Midway Park in NY and the adventure it was getting there! I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoy bringing it to you Peace, Big Mike This ends the report for this place appropriately! I hope you enjoyed reading this. Bye my friends! Peace, Big Mike A cute little boat ride too. The nice carousel. Here are some more rides at the park. Coaster # 598 for Big Mike! Away we go! The train. These kids seem to enjoy it, so I am ready to also. They didn't even bother naming this coaster, it is called Roller Coaster! ... but I do have credit #597!!! ... and i have no room to breath.... I have no shame.... The Course. Looks oddly like The Toronto Monster! The Dragon! The prices. Finally! Midway Park! Where the F is this place???? Wonderful. To top things off, a one way road with hills you can't see over to see if cars are coming the other way. I drive on, no end in sight. I hate when I say it can't get worse than this because it always does, and it did! The GPS had me going down dirt roads, through woods, down one way streets, and on roads that are only used half a year! I always say on these trips, I live by my GPS and I die by my GPS! Today, the GPS said F U to me! It sure was whacky, but not as whacky as my trip coming up to midway Park! Of course, I had to try out the Whacky Shack before I left. Thinking of Derek and how cool it would have been to hear his "Big Miiiiiiiiiiiike" shout out he does. Craig acutally does the exact same thing lol. A sudden Big Miiiiiiiiike breaks the silence! An enjoyable ride on the sky ride. Sometimes I think I have too much fun doing this! Same view as before, but with a little less trees. So that left Big Mike with only one other option! Most of the ride was well hidden in trees making it hard for Big Mike to take pics. Comet trains. The Comet! I like these turns. The lift, either frontwards or backwards. This was from the sky ride, not the ferris wheel! Steel Dragon! The whole ride is over water. Big Mike up in the ferris wheel again getting those special shots. Ravine Flyer 3 is also here. Ravine Flyer 2 - Credit #596 for Big Mike! I call this "My first ride EVER on Ravine Flyer 2!" Hanging with Big Mike does have some advantages, mainly free on ride photos!! Of course, this group did not want Big Mike catching up on their coaster counts, so they followed me here to neutralize my ride The ride finished up with a bunny hill. Here is the rest of the layout. Back over the street the other way! The train takes this turn around and heads back again. Here you can see the train going over the street. Once you climber the lift and had a great view, the drop takes you right into a tunnel. How about that view from the top!! A pretty lift hill. Here is a view of the back of the train. Here is a view of the front of the train. Craig, Gage, and Caitlyn again! The answer is NO, I have not had enough of my good buddy yet! The Big Mike Readers are always asking for stats! New for 2008!! Ravine Flyer 2!!!! I can understand the wrist band, but do we have to have the huge ink stamp too?? A park map for your viewing pleasure. Here are the 2008 prices. The Big Mike Road Show stops at Waldameer in Erie PA!

STR8FXXXINEDGE
So what did you think of Ravine Flyer 2? With Voyage being so close to my #1 Woodie, I'm really looking forward to getting over there this summer to ride RF2. If I remember correctly, you said that you haven't ridden Voyage yet, right? IggyACE
Ran into Sue and Rich AGAIN yesterday, as they break the tie with Craig and Gage as the people I have met the most now with 4 times Peace, Big Mike Does this make us Bike Mike's #1 groupies????? Craig-- trying to inflate Big Mike Ego some more!
Philrad71
Wow! I wondered if anyone would ever put a TR of Midway Park on this website...that is my home park! Awesome job, Big Mike! Actually, I live about fifteen miles away on the other side of Lake Chautauqua. Had I known, I could have given you simpler directions than the GPS: From I-90, take I-86 all the way to the Chautauqua Lake bridge - after the bridge, stay left and merge onto 430 - it will take you right to Maple Springs and Midway Park. Or, you could have stayed on I-90 from Erie to the Westfield exit onto 394 to Mayville. At the stoplight in Mayville, hang a left by the jail and you will also be on 430, which will also take you right to Midway Park. Although, I think that I did recognize some of those roads that you were on!! Probably doesn't help you now, but if anyone else ever wants to visit this little park, these directions might be a bit easier to follow! Midway used to be a lot better back in the day as they had the Paratrooper (that seemed to go faster than the one's at Waldameer), some really ghetto swings with wooden seats, and a giant slide that was actually almost dangerous! I will say that I was terrified to ride roller coasters after riding 'Roller Coaster' when I was a kid! I have not ridden this coaster since I was like seven years old because it whipped my neck so bad...I was sore for days! And what is with those steel seats with no padding?? Ouch!!! Anyhow...glad that you had fun and enjoyed your travels here in Western New York!
niiicolaaah
Wow, I didn't realize there was a kiddy coaster at Midway! I thought it was just the dragon! Do they let adults ride without kids? Darn it, that's only half an hour from where I went to college! I feel so cheated of a credit!
Big Mike
Nicole - Yes, adults can ride and even I had no problems getting on Philrad - Everyone can always count on Big Mike to bring the Big Mike Readers trip reports from all sorts of parks, big and small!! That's how I roll Craig - Actually the groupies I am looking for are single hot babes! Anyone interested in becoming a groupie, let me know Since you don't fit the groupie catagory, I will have to put you in the Super Duper Great Friend catagory. Jeff - I am very excited and honored to be On Point! Tony even went and corrected my stats and they are no longer inflated lol. Now they are way too low hehe. 600 coasters now Tony!!! Plus Maverick WAS #600!! Bryan - Comack is an hour and a half away from me and that sandwich is burning in my mind. I have to go try it out sooner rather than later. It sounds awesome. I will make sure I even wear my Official Big Mike Road Show T-shirt so I get extra attention when I order it Danny - Thanks for the compliments my friend! They are always nice to hear. Brian - That's true, I have not ridden the Voyage yet. One day, maybe next year. I give Ravine Flyer a solid 8. Jon - Big Mike on TV sounds like a great idea to me. That may be far fetched so I guess we will start with a leading role on this upcoming Mainland Europe TPR DVD Andy - I really liked talking with you. You and your whole family were great and very friendly. I hope we can meet up again and spend more time together somewhere in the future! I loved your little son, he was adorable and I really liked listening to him with such knowledge of a drop tower! 3 generations is something special! Matt - I agree with you, the self promotion has really taken off lol. This whole thing has turned from a self promoting blitz into a real great opportunity to meet some fantastic people and make some great new friends!! I look back already at just the first 3 months of The Big Mike Road Show 2008 thread and can't believe how much fun I have had with people I did not know just 3 months ago. Kicking off in Atlanta meeting Rich and Scott and their awesome wives up until this past weekend at Cedar Point and EVERYONE I met and hung out with there. What a great time I am having right now thanks to all of these fantastic TPR friends!!! I look forward to meeting many more and hanging out together somewhere along the way!! Dorney Park update is next everyone, then the BIG Cedar Point!! Peace, Big Mike
BamBam36
Who rides 600!!! coasters without going on The Voyage? I think every enthusiast should make Holiday World their next trip. Even if that means a little overtime at work to make it possible.
Big Mike
I worked all the overtime and when it came down to the final itiniery, I had enough money to choose either The Voyage or The Toronto Island Monster! It was a tough choice but The Voyage lost Peace, Big Mike
