downunder
Good point about Dragon Mounatin being on the Marineland website as the biggest coaster in the world, hell it's not even the biggest coaster at a marinepark. So "World's First" in the canadian side of the niagra area will probably be something that's been done a thousand times before. Wait and see I guess, maybe all lovers aquatrax will rejoice. Carnage
Dragon Mountain® roller coaster - ride the world's largest steel roller coaster, Dragon Mountain® found only at Marineland®. Spread over 30 acres of land, it is the world's largest non-stop roller coaster. Dragon Mountain also features more travel through tunnels - 1,163 feet - than any other coaster in the world (48" height requirement). I think they're trying for largest area or something. But even that would be a real stretch. There's gotta be a ride out there which covers more area. And the length of tunnels can't be true either. I'm guessing Hades probably does more then 1,163 feet? cycamps
I think Beast covers more acreage than that.
bspellx5
With Dragon Mountain, they say its the largest because it takes up sometihng like 30 acres of space. Because of that they can say that is the world's largest roller coaster, but acreage isn't really the first thing that come's into the GP's mind when they hear the term world's largest roller coaster, is it? They do that with Sky Screamer too. They say it is the worlds tallest freefall tower, saying it's 450 feet high, but it's located on a 150 ft. man-made hill. downunder
The question is "Will you survive." I think the more pertinent question will be "Will you care?"
Carnage
They do that with Sky Screamer too. They say it is the worlds tallest freefall tower, saying it's 450 feet high, but it's located on a 150 ft. man-made hill. Not only that, but you have to walk up said 150 foot hill to get to the ride. I think it took at least 15 minutes just to walk from the base of the hill to Skyscreamer. Probably the worst part of the climb is when you realize that you're now higher then the top of that 80 foot condor flat ride. (and then realize you're only halfway to the top). mightypotato
Since this is part of the "new" table rock (which is a quite small building) I doubt this is any bigger than a simulator.... There was one of those for years in the Niagara Falls tourist area though. Anyone else remember "Ride Niagara"?
willski
Something like X-Scream or Insanity wouldn't blend in well with the falls at all and would diminish the image that creates so much tourism for Niagara Falls. Besides, the effect wouldn't be as impressive since you would be "only" 170 feet or so in the air (as opposed to 900). Have you been on X-Scream or Insanity? The extreme height really didn't affect me, as I was so tightly wedged in my seat and the view was pretty unspectacular (at least on Insanity, where you are essentially looking down at the casino roof/maintenance areas). Although it would look really tacky, a ride like X-Scream just at the edge of the Falls diving into the mist would be absolutely crazy! But it's probably just a ton of hype for something not so big. jamesdillaman
I think Beast covers more acreage than that. Even if it does, Beast is a wooden coaster, so still wouldn't affect their claim. And if I recall correctly Beast is built on 25 acres. -James Dillaman

But it's probably just a ton of hype for something not so big. I figure a ride like that is highly unlikely. I doubt they're going to stick a tacky amusement park ride over top/in front of the falls. They're not going to mess with the scenic look of the falls.
Chadley
Since this is part of the "new" table rock (which is a quite small building) I doubt this is any bigger than a simulator.... There was one of those for years in the Niagara Falls tourist area though. Anyone else remember "Ride Niagara"? I never rode it, but I remember it. But if it were a 4-D type experience, it'd get my attention. I just can't see them doing anything that would deface, damage, or take away from the falls themselves. Carnage
^ Maybe they'll stick something over the American side of the falls. Everyone knows that side is the ugly side, so why not stick a thrill ride in the way, leaving the horshoe falls scenic as ever.
Coasterlvr_nc
^ Makes sense to me. As for marineland, I think they are just trying to get tourists to visit and to boost attendance.
Carnage
^ Seems like they're better at attracting protesters. Maybe instead of building thrill rides, they should make it so their animals don't look like depressed death row inmates.
JimmyBo
“Niagara’s Fury is an extreme experience like no other. It will change you in a way you never imagined. The real question is, Will you Survive?” asked Jim Williams, NPC Chairman.” Sweet! I didn't know I was the NPC Chairman. I guess I should know what the hell is going on since I'm advertising the damn thing. Anyway, I think it will be like the Grand Canyon overlook thing but then suddenly give way and dropped tourists down into a net like the SCAD towers. pierced_b0i
I think it would be fun to have a skycoaster swing out over the falls. Maybe that's just my mind wandering about, but it would be pretty kick a$$.

ECZenith
^ From the above article... "A Universal Studios-type attraction using video and audio" and... "technology never before conceived" I'm going to just take a guess here. The article says it will show the history of how the falls were made, and that it would be an audio and video experience. How cool would it be if it were some kind of motion based simulator, where at the end of the film portion the screen was removed and the passengers tilted forward toward the actual falls, yikes... Wishful thinking...
sfmmrules!
Wow sounds soooo good! Already can't wait to go on whatever it is! I can't possibly think of what it might be! Someday I'll have to go to Canada to ride that, do Canada's Wonderland & Galaxyland. But I have been to Niagara Falls though. I rode a sky tram down to the falls & took the Maid Of The Mist boat ride that goes right next to the falls, but hmmm.........
FitchCoaster
From that article, I'm thinking that it could be a Spiderman-type of ride.. but I could be completely wrong. Whatever it is, I can't wait to find out!

Groteslurf
Teaser online. Not much is revealed but it opens already in 56 days. We will be there in about 3 months so now I'm getting really curious to find out what we will be able to experience over there.
Rollwithit
This thing screams simulator. I know they aren't going to ruin the beauty of Niagara Falls by putting in an eye sore like a coaster or maybe a walk view thingy at Grand Canyon. I think its going to be some sort of 4D simulator.
