According to the Carowinds thread and their website, CF changed theirs from flight deck to Afterburn, and a cool new logo with it Certainly a better name but why not CGAs too? Yeah they both have different layouts but basically they are both Top Gun coasters. Apparantly the Afterburn mistake that appeared on the CGA website was meant for Carowinds.

I wonder if that comes with a preshow and a gift shop? You can also be on a misson to get to one of his sets as fast as you can and race throught the freeway! And you can get Ron Jeremy stuff in the gift shop as you exit the ride.

Thought I would post this here. On the Physics Day website for CGA, it says that Drop Zone will be renamed Drop Tower. It just doesn't list it on the actual website yet. God do I hope this is not a permanent name, but it probably is. Scroll all the say down to see it.

What happened with Cedar Fair's naming department. They used to have decent names, considering their refusal to use movie licensing, but most of their names lately are just complete crap. Gemini, Banshee(Mantis), Talon, Hydra, Xcelerator, and Ghostrider are all better names than what is being come up with lately. I know Cedar Fair hates theming, grass, and trees, but they are hurting themselves with there refusal to use the Paramount themes when given the chance. Cedar Fair seems like how Six Flags was in the 1980s and 90s, and I hope they change.(I doubt they will until Kinzel dies since he won't retire)

 

If that rumor about Drop Zone/Drop Tower rumor is true, Cedar Fair will lose the last bit of respect I have for them. I used to think they were a decent company, before Six Flags was bought, but now, I realize how poorly they run their parks. This may just be me, but I hope Parques Reunidos buys them out soon.

So I don't know what is going on with Cedar Fair and their naming department. I know that 2008 is essentially their first full year of control over the former Paramount Parks, ad while I hope that they are trying to figure things out, I doubt they are. They had a full year to decide what they would do, and they seem to be failing miserably. These names are some of the worst I've heard, and I can only imagine what is in store for the future of the chain. Yes they are just names, and maybe I'm overreacting However I'm pretty sure they could have come up with some better names than Flight Deck and Drop Tower.

I work at the park, and previously worked at Endeavor, formerly The Revolution (Looping Starship). I got SO many complaints of how stupid the new name is, and it really isn't that bad of a name. I can only imagine how much people will react about Drop Tower and Flight Deck.

 

Seriously, at the very least rename Drop Zone to Stunt Tower, which I actually really like. I can understand then wanting to keep the sign because it is the nicest sign for a ride I have ever seen, but use some creativity. And Flight Deck, why not use Afterburn also?

I like Stunt Tower too for Drop Zone. Thats what I was thinking before reading your post! Survivor could be something like Spinning Disco or Disco Coaster?
