Maybe they will add California in big letters on top of the sign.

That sign really needs to be higher up in the air. When I was there this summer, we couldn't find the entrance. It is like right between the Yahoo! building and another tall building. It is actually funny to think that if I work at the Yahoo! HQ that after work, I could run out back and ride a coaster.

Wow, CF is really lacking originality lately. The red, white, and blue signs they keep putting up look the same for the most part(except this one), and they just look horrible. I know most signs don't look the best, but it is the first thing guests see(besides the skyline), and these signs are pathetic ways to welcome people to the park. This sign looks like something the park would have when it opened in 1976, and it just has a "cheap" look to it.

Wow that is pretty plain, it looks generic like it says to passers by.."oh yeah, over here is great america but whatever" when it should have more color and maybe 3-D lettering/graphics, and be higher so it shouts "HEY HERE IS GREAT AMERICA COME IN AND CHECK IT OUT!!!." But that's just me. I wonder what the sign on 101 will look like. Recently when Paramount redid it it looked really cool and bright, but now I wonder if it will even look halfway decent.

ive gone there on my lunch breaks and after work, very convenient to be so close on great america parkway

It does look plain. I agree. California's or Cedar Fair's Great America would look better. While theyre adding new signs I wish they would ditch the Flight Deck name for Top Gun.

The sign could use a little bit more kick to it, but the red white blue color scheme is fine...it's supposed to represent America anyway, and seems somewhat reminiscent of the old GA logo...in a modern Cedar Fair font.

If only I could get into Cedar Fair's graphic design dept...or atleast whoever does it for Great America...

Why spend money on the sign when you are going to try to sell the park to the 49ers in the next couple months? Both Santa Clara and the 49ers have decided that they want to try to go ahead with the stadium in the parking lot and as far as I know, the park is just leasing the land from the city. (can someone confirm or deny that?)

It could be a great move for Great America if the team moves down there but only if they can get some regular scheduled public transit service down there from SF. If you could take BART/Caltrain to the park and stadium from anywhere in the Bay Area, it would make a lot of sense. Otherwise, I think that similar to what happened to Astroworld in Houston, the stadium will eventually win out.

Went by the sign on 101, nothing changed on it yet, still has the Paramount thing on the top and is still half burned out. The only thing new on it is the advertisement for the "CGA" website.

 Bash bash bash

It is called Great America what else would you like?

Honestly. This is the dumbest thing to be upset about.

SFGAm's sign is exactly the same. It's really not a big deal.

^Cool, cool.

I'm excited for the season to start. This sounds weird, but I hope this season is more packed than last year. It is just depressing when there's no one in the park. Now with the extended days and hours, CGA has the longest season of the former Paramount parks with the season starting on March 16th. And also one the the longest in the chain. For some reason, Carowinds hours got hacked for the summer.

^Dude, it's awesome. I still call it Top Gun, though. At night, it is more intense since it's been running all day, and the track is nice and slick, it feels a lot faster. CGA is so much fun after dark! I can't wait for Firefall, and the GCI woodie.
