robbalvey Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 Does TDS's have a hallway? Yup. TDS's is pretty much the exact same ride system as DCA's and DSP's, just with a different "paint job." --Robb "But it's a really REALLY good paint job!" Alvey
Simba Posted December 9, 2007 Author Posted December 9, 2007 So, hopefully Paris' Tower is at least as good as DCA's. We're not yet sure if the drop sequence is the same. After watching an onride video of the DCA tower I can tell that this is the exact same drop sequence.
RIP Psyclone Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 ^I'm glad! I trust that they didn't make the drops "weaker" as they did at TDS.
Simba Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 Nope it's not weak at all! the only thing that would be really cool is if they change it to be totally random like in florida, I guess that in 2017 they'll make a TOT mission II
RIP Psyclone Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 They've been supposed to do that at DCA for 2 years now. More drops would be good, but it does mean a longer line.
the ghost Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 In the part when DCA's ride starts it goes backwards which was really awesome the first time I went on it. But then I remember the Florida version being a lot better. Do they all have the effect with the twilight zone door at the beginning like the one at DCA. And also is DCA's the only one that has like a one story drop before the big drop?
WildStangAlex Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I thought this wasn't to open until '08?
pagemaster_b Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Great pictures thanks for posting. After comparing this new attraction to the one at DisneySea the difference is amazing, almost embarrassing for Disney. I find it interesting why they would spend so much money on the Tower in Japan and then pull this crap in Paris and CA. I mean the return on investment would seem to be comparatively the same or somewhat close. This is like comparing a Porsche to a Yugo. Japan has raised the bar and I view this latest Tower as "barely getting by" for Disney. My thoughts exactly.
disneylanddork50 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 are you sure you weren't in DCA when you took those photos? that looks JUST LIKE TOT in DCA!

Disney "raises the bar" at TDS for most everything because they aren't spending their own money, I think--the Tokyo resort is actually owned by the Oriental Land Company, correct?
Simba Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 I made a wallpaper for my desktop, if you'd like to use it too, here it is: (By clicking on the image you will get the Highres (1280x1024) version of the image)

borisdag Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Wow! Here's to hopin' the darn thing is better than the craptastic DCA version. Love Paris DL, btw!
Dark Vampire Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 I made a wallpaper for my desktop, if you'd like to use it too, here it is:*image* OMG, that is really cool! Thank you, it is now my new wallpaper.
Simba Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 Glad you like it A friend who has a 16/9 (1680x1050) screen asked me for a wallpaper so I had to make a slightly different one:
Coasterlvr_nc Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Thanks for the wallpaper! it looks amazing!
Simba Posted December 11, 2007 Author Posted December 11, 2007 You're welcome Somebody sent me a PM to ask me for the photos in higher resolution, so here it is: http://magicvision.free.fr/TOTavt1er/index.html

Alvey True, but its preshow and theming are far superior to the other versions. Its drop sequence is definitely the tamest, but I always felt that was due to the restraining seatbelts they have. But all that could be changed in the future, with reprogramming of the drop sequences to possibly a more intense and random version.
ECZenith Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Always good to see another Tower of Terror open up at a disney park. I like the fact that people can walk around all sides of the building to see all the detail.
djtomlec Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 great photo's and great theming also, this was one of the attractions that where still missing in the park.
WildStangAlex Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Does anybody have a picture of this "Hallway" that everyone talks about?
Top Thrill Dragster Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 ^ Photos from Theme Park Review.com
Simba Posted December 19, 2007 Author Posted December 19, 2007 I went back to the studios on Sunday for the last day of previews. I took some more pictures http://magicvision.free.fr/TOTAvt1er_16_12/
WildStangAlex Posted December 21, 2007 Posted December 21, 2007 Now that hallway seems really dumb to me. Why not make the hall part of the "Basement" then have the doors at the actual elevator?
