Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!

Recommended Posts

If Intamin made the Canyon River Rapids, and its the ride many people believe will need to get the ax in order to have room for the wave pool. Would it perhaps make sense that intamin lives on might pertain to the rapids ride surviving the Tsunami?

Personally I am not a fan of water marks. While I have no connections to Coasterdom to know for sure it could possibly be that there image system just automatically adds the water mark and depending on how the system works it could be a real pain to override.

I am not defending there decision at all but just giving a possible explanation.

I'm a photo-editing hobbiest, and I think I have a way of easily finding the letters in the photos. From what I've seen, Hershey has put white letters on a darker background. If this holds true for all the photos, all you have to do is run the photo through a threshold filter. This just makes the image black and white: the white letter will remain white while the darker portions of the image turn black. The only way the letter would not be clearly visible after being run through a threshold filter is:

1.) The letter isn't white

2.) The letter was on a light background

I think this is the photo you're having the most trouble with. Here's what it looks like when you run it through a threshold filter: I think rascule got it right.

Yeah earlier on in the thread, there was a link to pictures on the coasterdom website, and I thought that the watermarking was a bit, dodgy.

Anyway onto the puzzle. Nantimi lives on seems likely, although as Nantimi has been used before, I don't think they would use it again. It's a bit 'too' obvious. Infact I think the whole lettering thins is a bit too obvious. It might just be a distraction for something else. Saying that, I haven't thought or seen anything else, so I really don't know. Just more food for thought.

Edit: Just seen the above post. Wow that really clarifies things... I've used threshold filters before and I didn't think of it to 'crack' these pictures. Thats really clever, well done!

The water marking happens automatically when the image is uploaded, and I posted the versions of all the pictures uploaded to coasterdom one here without the watermark. Not "attention whorish" just something we have set up for all pictures uploaded.

Sorry for any confusion,

^ I would never tell anyone how to run a website but that seems to be a really annoying thing to have as an automated feature. I would never put a watermark on any of my photos as I think it detracts from the image, but if I did I would rather I put it on in Photoshop rather than have an automated system where I couldn't choose where in the photo it goes.

Good thing there wasn't one of the letters in that lower right hand corner!

We have made the choice to not worry about who may "steal" our photos because in my 12 years of running a site I have yet to see any proof that a 'stolen photo' translates into less overall traffic for a site.

Not trying to get too off topic here.. but there was a streak where a lot of our pictures were being taken by other websites and having their watermark slapped on to the pictures. If you don't care about other websites claiming your image as their own, that's fine, but we feel it necessary - so.. that's that.

Thanks again for your understanding.

Edit: Martin has confirmed that "Nantimi Lives On" is correct. Congratulations (natatomic, I think was the one who discovered that?) whoever it was that got that. So now I guess it's really "over", sad, eh?

^Thats a real shame that people were taking images and putting their own watermarks on.

As for the picture, seems like that must be the letter as it looks too perfect and clear to just be sky behind the track. I belive that was the last letter was it not?

Edit: Well seems the answer was confirmed while i typed this so. I guess thats the end of this.

^^Nah, it wasn't me. I think I got the Nantimi part first, but I thought it was "Nantimi/Intamin moves in" (that was before we got picture number 3 with the "L" in it, so I was just taking a guess at the missing letter).

No, the credit here goes to Scaparri. *pats Scott on the back*

Great job guys. This was a tough one. I had actually thought that the image may have the hidden the letter somewhere. I was actually on the right track, but I Inverted the colors of the image. I never thought of putting it through that specific filter! Geat find!
