Homer
http://www.godarienlake.com/ Looks like something is finally up after the sale was completed yesterday. And a cheesy new park logo at that too! It looks like its only a temporary thing though, but at least its something. Brand new cheesy looking Darien Lake logo. Woo, Buffalo...
thrillrideseeker
WOW! I love the new logo! It looks awsome! Thanks for posting this! I love hearing about new things! ~Matthew
Carnage
Kind of a half assed solution if you ask me. All that is, is a quick new logo which links to a Six Flags ticket ordering page.
niiicolaaah
Wow... that site is... ghetto. I drove by the exit for Darien Lake this weekend, and this is what I saw: That used to say "Six Flags Darien Lake"... now it's just a blue square! robbalvey
I love how the logo says "Theme Park Resort" but the name of the park is actually "Theme Park & Resort." Is it just me or do you think that some of these park tasks like "create a new logo" seem like they were done by your average losing team from The Apprentice? --Robb
coastrfreak2000
I like Elitch Garden;s logo better, but not by much. This logo looks like some funky logo for a weird Knex coaster.
Swoosh
The Wild Waves one is even worse.
odene497
Awwwwww. Darien Lake is my home park and this just seems really crappy. It so weird not seeing the Six Flags, but this could be a good thing!
BarryH
I don't know if this has been answered before, but will S:ROS get a new name? Anyway, the logo looks like it is advertising silly string! I went to the website and I can't scroll down to see what's below "Theme Park & Resort." It's a sign of bad web design.
Darien Laker
Well, I can say that this logo is no better or no worse than the past ones. I wonder how much better or worse this new management will be.
Diddi
damn the sabres! like the new logo though.
adc9787
What I thought was really funny, and lazy, is that Superman: Ride of Steel's ne name in just. Rode of Steel. Hobody took the time to even come up with a new, more creative name. -Andrew
crazyrider06
The logo is yeah idk lol and the website well its kind of crappy. The layout is fine they just need to pizzazz it up a little bit
Carnage
The layout is fine they just need to pizzazz it up a little bit What layout? It's just a logo which links to a Six Flags ticket purchase application. This "website" would have taken a high school student 15 minutes to make. coastermaniac1
I like the way they have videos for their rides.
Carnage
I like the way they have videos for their rides. Whoa, the page changed over night. I just assumed they still had the crappy site up. Lat night it was just a logo and a ticket order page. Now it's a full website. Weird.
niiicolaaah
Yeah... they made/will make the announcement today about what is new for next year.
RCoasterny
The local newspaper did have a small tidbit about what's in store for Darien Lake: They'll keep the park admission price the same at $35, $25 for people 55 and older. After 5pm the price drops to $20. They did cut the price of parking to $7. There will be a musical performance at the main stage, Le Grande Cirque, and a kid's show, Blake Daring's Storybook Adventure, which has a pirate theme. RollerC
I assume that next season, DL's price will drop to mabey $30 because it still isn't worth 35 bucks to go there...
307
The logo looks more like a sports team than anything else, I think. I guess I missed the memo where DL was sold.
trustkill22
Does anyone know if Batman from Astroworld is still across the street? I'm not sure what to expect out of this but hopefully it will be for the good.
Darien Laker
Haha Viper's video is actually footage of it's sibling out in California. I didn't think they'd still be able to use that footage. A lot of this is copy pasted from the Six Flags site. "Ride of Steel". Oh well, at least it's not like a confusing name change. I didn't think they'd be able to keep Mind Eraser's name either, but I guess they can.
BarryH
^^If it is, maybe they will rename it from "Batman: The Escape" to "The Escape."
exzantia
Well it seems to be a very broken website in Safari. Firefox at least seems to know that the flash videos aren't loading.
Movieguy
I'm happy just to see Darien Lake cut free from the Six Flags chain. All those years of stagnation after the addition of Superman were just too much for me. Those guys couldn't even give us ONE significant new addition to the park after that. Let's hope the new management will really take steps to improve this place. God knows it's hard to get people to come visit a park in the middle of a cold, gray hellhole where it snows even in the spring. (We're about to get ANOTHER Nor easter today...in April!)
