Sir Clinksalot
I sure as hell am. I am actually one of the few people who liked Episode I. Didn't care for Episode II as much, although Yoda kicked some ass. A few reason's I think Episode III will be good. PG-13. That's right. This means the Lucas didn't sugarcoat what the story is. Anakin and the Emperor kill all of the Jedi, including the young Jedi's. Can't be pretty. Obi-Wan and Anakin fight to the death and Anakin get's burned up in a volcano. Again, can't, and shouldn't be pretty. Good Review's: So far at least. Ebert and Roepert gave it Two Thumbs Up, a first, at least for this new trilogy. NY Times gave it a good review, saying that only Empire Strikes Back is better. It made Stephen Speilberg Cry. Nuff said. I was going to wait until next week and take the kids to see it, but after hearing about how gruesome it really is I'm almost thinking I should make sure it's acceptable for them. There is a 9am showing on Thursday morning in Camarillo ... Hmmm ...
SharkTums
Did you actually watch the Ebert and Roeper review? They said they didn't understand why it got a PG-13 rating as it was the same level as "sci-fi, cartoony" violence as the rest. They said don't hesitate to take your kids to see it. Gregory DG
Episode III is called "Revenge of the Sith," not "Attack of the Clones."
robbalvey
Episode I and the few clips I've seen of Episode II have soured me so much on the franchise that I have about as much interest in seeing Episode III as I do "Are We There Yet?" I was a pretty huge Star Wars geek (not as much as one of my friends) before EP. I came out, and after that movie, I can't even really go back to the originals anymore. I'm really pissed that they managed to fuck up one of the best movie franchises of all time. --Robb
Sir Clinksalot
Elissa "you just want an excuse to go early!" Alvey Damnit, you blew my cover!!! I know, I did see that and will hear it from my 7 year old little boy if I don't take him. Is it wrong to take him out of school for a few hours on Thursday to see Star Wars??? CoasterFanatic
While I thought that Episode I was average at best, Episode II looked like a damn video game (no offense robb)! With that in mind, III looks to be the movie that may save the "New" trilogy. // Nothing will ever beat "empire". It's like the "Godfather II" of the franchise. Meteornotes
I'm sure we'll see it eventually, but we're in no hurry to rush out and see it. Partially because hype about anything annoys me to no end, and because I really don't want to see a movie with people that think they're Ewoks... Ep I sucked immesurable ass, Ep II had a good last half hour, but was painful getting there. It would be nice if this was close to the original films, though. Ghost
I will see it tonight at 0:01. Very first "opening" screening (as there have been pre openings and review screenings already.) However I will see this before you in the US as we are 6 hours before. HAHAHA only Goofing around so no hate mails please... And PG-13.. Man, good thing we don't have this over here. My son is 5 and loves all SW movies. Should he now have to miss 1 part? (anyway, I'll see it tonight so I will know if it is OK for him. Although I am sure it is) and now. maliboomer
PG-13 means Parental Guidence Required for under-13's. Not they can't go. Edit: Actually is it required or just suggested?
Ghost
PG-13 means Parental Guidence Required for under-13's. Not they can't go. Edit: Actually is it required or just suggested? Ah yes, Of course. I somehow thought not for children under 13. My mistake (and I should have know as this is not the first time I see it) ... of course I would never let my 5 year old go alone 8) to the cinema at all... We have only two code. Children allowed or Children not allowed. And if allowed it is from 16 years. just some trivia about Belgium (as if anybody cares or is still reading this at all )
FlyingScooter
I'll skip it. Love the eps 4-6 hated ep 1. Are there plans for a 7-9? those might be good. Flying(more of a Star Trek fan than Star Wars fan)Scooter
Sir Clinksalot
As far as I know, there is no Ep: 7-9 coming. But you never know. PG-13 Parental Guidance SUGGESTED for children under 13 R No Children under 17 admitted without an adult NC-17 No Children under 17 admitted (with or without an adult) The only movies kids under 17 can't see is NC-17 movies. They can still see R as long as they are with an adult.
Coaster Palooza
I wasn't planning on seeing this until it was out for a few weeks (I don't like crowds...go figure?), but my boss sent out an email about 2 weeks ago saying that we are ALL (about 20 of us) going for our lunch on the 19th to see it. How great is that!? Anyways, I am looking forward to seeing it and more importantly, not paying for it. Also taking time off work it great too!

Movieguy
I've got my ticket for this afternoon, thanks to movietickets.com, and I'm very hopeful about this one. I think the main problem with the prequels is that George Lucas really only had enough material for about 2 movies rather than three. And I read that about 60% of the stuff he had written during the 70's (before the the stories that became episodes IV-VI) is in Revenge of The Sith. Plus, I also read that Hayden Christensen won't be playing the same whiny Anakin anymore, like he did in Episode II, where he was told to keep his voice a bit higher than normal. Jordan Shankman
I saw it last night, and it kicked royal ass. Although, I must admit, the fans in full costume having light saber battles in the lobbyof the theater was more entertaining than the movie. gisco
I saw it this morning at 12:01. I thought it was a great movie for what it was, entertainment. The visuals were incredable but I thought the dialog and acting were sub par. Still, I liked it and plan on going to see it again this weekend. EP IV,V,VI are still the best! Wes
I thought it was pretty bad. Visually okay, but the acting and dialogue were awful awful awful. I'm so over Star Wars at this point. This movie just hammered home the point that I do not care.
Sir Clinksalot
I agree and disagree with Wes. I did enjoy the movie, it is most certainly the best of the new trilogy. It does set up Ep. IV nicely as well. The acting was kind of bad, they crammed all of the good stuff in the last 45 minutes. I still think we need to ditch Ep. I, Ep. II should be the new Ep. I, this should be Ep. II and we need a new Ep. III. I will see it again since I have to take the kids. This is how I rank the Staw Wars movies now Empire Strikes Back A New Hope Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith (but it's close to Jedi IMO) Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones
Wes
^ Did you think Vader's "Nooooooooo!" was the worst acting ever?... infact that entire scene with Vader asking about Padme was junk. Here's what I posted over at Westcoaster...: Yeah, Anakin/Vader was such a *major pussy*. Darth Emo Vader. Waawaawaaa... I laughed out loud during the "Nooooooo!" and during the awful little exchange between Anakin and Padme with "I love you derdeedurdurdur" "Love is blind deedledelle" VOMIT. Mace Windu went out like a chump. Grevious was remarkably unbadass compared to how he was in the Clone Wars cartoon. Some of the CG was TERRIBLE. The Clone Troopers with Jango Fett's head pasted over them looked awful. So did than gigantic lizard Obi Wan rode. So did Palpatine's make-up job after he got disfigured. "There's nothing medically wrong with her, she just lost the will to live." WHAT? And also that droid doctor was ridiculous and out of place considering the scene. R2D2 keeps getting more and more random components that never show up later on. C-3PO was f***ing annoying, especially the stupid CG version of him. And even if he had his memory erased, couldn't R2 be like "Yo, you remember that time we did all that f**ked up s**t?" Also, why wouldn't Vader notice his friend droids in the original movies? They had to throw Jar Jar in there, even if he didn't say a word. What was that random ass water show that Palpatine was watching? It looked like Cirque on mushrooms. How come any time any of the Jedis did a super jump or run, it looked incredibly fake? It was like watching a really long video game cut scene. Coaster Palooza
I just got back from seeing it and I agree with Greg. I also don't like the dialogue because Lucas can't write romance and he shouldn't try. Lucas knows how to write a good story over all and I liked how it is all brought together. I also liked the fact that I wasn't at work, even though I am back at work now. It is great when you get paid to watch a movie and work paid for the movie too! What an awesome day. The only way it could get any better would be to go ride some coasters.
Movieguy
Well, I saw it today and I thought it was great. Yeah, so the dialogue wasn't so great. So what? There was sub-par stuff like that in the original trilogy as well. Remember in Empire when a young cadet asked "Two fighters against a star destroyer?" in such a lame-duck, amatuer acting fashion? By the way, I think Ian McDirmaid did a superb job as Palpatine in this movie. Mind you, I didn't like Episode I or II either, but in this one I felt like the action actually had a purpose behind it. And I loved how they didn't hold back when they showed how Anakin ended up having to have the vader suit put on him. There's one thing that did bug me though, and that was the death of Padme. Not for that whole "lost the will to live" thing, I wasn't as nit-picky about that as Wes apparently was. But remember how in "Return of The Jedi" when Luke asked Leia if she remembered her late mother, and said that she did, but only a little bit?...well how could she remember her at all if she died just after she and Luke were born? Even if it were physically possible for her to remember that far back, wouldn't that mean that Luke, mr "I never knew my mother" would have remembered something too? Or maybe she was talking about her adopted mother on Alderaan. I don't know. Other than that, I enjoyed this movie a hell of a lot more than the other two prequels. The original trilogy will always be the best, but this one came pretty close.
