Thrasher Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Hey guys. Havent been on here in a long time. College has been really tough lately but im glad to be finishing up in June, yay! I decided to hit the parks today because I got out of class really early, it was a beautiful day, and im an AP member (Read: bored). They rolled out the red carpet for this photo trip report! Ill start with IOA, and as everyone knows, Ripsaw Falls is down again... They had two cranes working when I was driving in, but only one by the time I actually got to the ride... I had asked around, and found out that the ride will be opening up on Jan 21st. Then I got home and checked Screamscape only to find they already knew that. I did find out that they are doing some work with the trough they didnt get to do in the huge rehab a few months back... With nothing else going on in IOA, I decided to walk over to USO. I snapped a few pics of the Nascar Cafe, which is coming along nicely... Thought id take a few pics of the work being done for the new Blue Man Group show. They havent started painting the outside of the building, but there were several paint crews in the area power-washing the building, so that should begin within the next few days... Is it October yet? I miss HHN! They seem to have some sort of cat problem in the backlots... They placed one of those false perspective image thingys where the HHN16 stage was standing. It actually looks pretty neat. I had never tried one of these before... And for the perspective... Oh, and Ill throw one more picture to show some idiot standing on a rock to take a picture of the Hulk from across the lake. I was secretly hoping he would fall in and have to swim all the way to sneetch beach to get out... Ok, that should do it for now. Please leave comments, I really do these updates so those that dont live in the central FL area can keep up on the news. -Thrasher
thefitness Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Nice pictures They finally took their Christmas decoractions down! What was the red carpet for?
Thrasher Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 I asked tons of people from security guards to guest relations. The red carpet was simply something they set up if a company or group rents the park out. Tonight just happened to be rented out.
ebl Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Very nice Photo TR. I miss USH and IoA. Need...to...go...back...soon. Eric
Sketch105 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 That perspective thing in Hollywood has been there for years actually..they just take it out whenever a special event occurs..which seems to be the only times you guys visit anyway... The parks have always had a cat problem. Especially in Jurassic Park for some reason..lol.
Wes Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 The parks have always had a cat problem. Especially in Jurassic Park for some reason..lol. That's so funny. When we were there in October, my girlfriend saw a pair of cats over by the Jurassic Park Falls place and proceeded to take like eight billion pictures of them (she loves cats...its so frightening). I was wondering if they were just house cats that had wandered into the park or something. Guess it's an epidemic! Maybe that's what they serve at that restaurant.
jackskellington101 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Maybe that's what they serve at that restaurant. Only if they have low trans-fats.
Wes Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I'm so confused as to what the heck is going on here.
Louise Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 It makes my eyes feel funny!! And I'm even more scared by these headless people!!
TheStig Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 First thing I noticed in the perspective picture?: PREGGERS. Hey, Elissa!
dj snow Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Funny, I just read about those cats yesterday in this Motley Fool article.
Jew Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 He's been to "roughly 50" parks and hasn't ever seen a stray cat?!? I don't think there have been very many visits to KBF or Disneyland where I haven't seen a stray cat...I figured it was a pretty common thing for parks to have stray animals (or just random animals in general) calling the park their home.
Primogen18 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Nice pics, and it took me a while to figure out the forced perspective thing lol, but thats pretty cool if it lines up right, and you did a pretty good job.
Ed Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Havrn't seen you in ages Dan. (that's your name right?) Good luck all things college based!
happyscrappy Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I wouldn't call it a "cat problem" - if anything that makes the park better!! Just a little extra cute scenery. Of course, I'm a girl so seeing a bunch of random cats would make me excited.
jackskellington101 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I agree it's not really a cat problem. Which would you want more: cats or mice/rats? Personally, I'd take the cats.
crazyrider06 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 OMG i so wanna go to USH.. i just might have to add it to my must do trips this year!!
JT3000 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 *ahem* USF Someone needs to tell them those palm trees don't align in the trick photo. Makes it kinda pointless, ya know? Funny, I just read about those cats yesterday in this Motley Fool article. That's gotta be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Pretty fitting that it comes from fool.com. Stray cats make him wonder if GE knows what they're doing.... uhh, okay. Well looky here, he owns stock in Disney. That explains everything.

Disneyland uses them to keep the rodent population down, and I'd imagine the same goes with USF
Thrasher Posted January 20, 2007 Author Posted January 20, 2007 Havrn't seen you in ages Dan. (that's your name right?) Good luck all things college based! Aaron. I think you remember me as an admin at CoasterForce a few years back. Cheers for the support. Nice pics, and it took me a while to figure out the forced perspective thing lol, but thats pretty cool if it lines up right, and you did a pretty good job. Thanks, the stand was really wobbly, so I wasnt sure it was gonna quite line up. That perspective thing in Hollywood has been there for years actually..they just take it out whenever a special event occurs..which seems to be the only times you guys visit anyway... I live in Orlando as well, close to the UCF campus. Ill be going more often to document the BTTF updates if it ever does decide to happen. Thanks for the support!
gmoney422 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Very nice Photo TR. I miss USH and IoA. Need...to...go...back...soon. Eric I concur...! Me love Hulk...!
