^^^^Actually, it was open to really any coster group out there (thank God it wasn't just Ace, or the coaster might have fallen down the hill even faster...).

What are you talking about? Nothing has fallen down.

It was a decent show, but I didn't like the fact that they acted like a disaster was always going to happen. It was nice about the technical information, but told in a way for the GP to understand. I just wish they had Dan's(RCPro) Tatsu video at the end.

Airtime-I can mention RCPro in a Tatsu thread right?-&Gravity

A disaster hasn't happened yet .

But seriously, I would have thought one of the main things they would have talked about would have been the possible erosion of the land. I mean, they mentioned that the location was challenging. They even showed the crazy video of the trucks trying to haul the track up to the site. I was really hoping to see something about how they prepared the land, what they were doing to prevent the whole thing from slipping down the hill.

Then again, it IS slipping down the hill. Granted this seemed to focus more on the actual contractor and construction aspects vs the design...wouldn't that still be concern during the timeframe of construction?

does anybody know where i can get Millennium Force building vids? i've found the mighty youtube doesn't even have 'em and i got stunned a lot. i thought youtube would have got some construction vids of MF.....

I just saw it today and I think the building of a coaster is way more interesting than riding it. It's funny how they purposely put wheels on the train that would make the train go slower, but I guess they really wanted it at 4 minutes and 49 seconds, or whatever it was.

The ride itself from after the lift-hill to the final brakes is 49 seconds. Six Flags advertises 3 minutes, but that includes the lift-hill trip, the loading procedure, and unloading procedure.

I downloaded the file but all I get to see is a black screen. I do hear the sound and the voices from the presenter.

What to do? I have the programms winamp, windows mediaplayer and an acer dvd programm.

Thanks.

^^^ That's normal policy for almost any ride. Whenever new ones open, they always say "Three minutes..." In my experience, when I time a ride, they've been mostly in the "just about a minute" category from the top of the lift to the final stop.

But when timing from pulling out to pulling back in, I usually get times of about 2:00 to 2:45. Of course, that includes everything.

I just watched.

I like what they said about the other coasters problems.

Revolution not making it around the track on first run.

Collosus breaks failing on first run and going around 3 times without stoping (That would be fun )

And X taking a long time to fix probems (No Surprise)

I just watched it and found it quite fascinating. RCT makes building coasters look so easy...

And, for the heck of it...

OMG THE FOOTER IS TOO BIG!

Cheers TheMenefee for uploading that. Good show, I love the incredible drama and real life disasters which threaten to bankrupt six flags! (They seem to be well on their way without Tatsu cocking up!). We need a decent flyer in the UK! Air is useless...

Download the full show here:

Building Tatsu Presented By: Discovery Channel

(Just in case you can't play this file download VLC Media Player.)

Feel free to re-encode and host this however you guys feel is best for the site. I didn't post this in the video section because the file is way to big to host here at TPR I'm thinking. It's almost a 700mb RAR file, but media fire is a pretty fast download service most of the time.

Cheers,

Sean

(Edit...added another link just in case the first one goes down.

Thank you very much for the recording! I have already watched a part and it is very good.

Only, do you guys always have so much commercial in a program?

That is the beauty of American television.

It was kinda entertaining to see what you guys have as commercials on the television.

Isn't it a case that the programs interupt the commercials in the States. This was an interesting documentary and no dobut another good piece of publicity for SFMM.

I'm actually kind of amazed the video link is still alive, Mediafire is the shizznit! Glad to see everyone has enjoyed the Tatsu construction show rip. BTW....Yes, we do have a ton of commercials here in the States, and yes, some are for strip clubs. (Late night reruns are awesome.)

Anyways, thanks for the feedback folks.

Do you still want a re-encoded file of the Tatsu/Discovery Channel video? I can also set it up for streaming. I'll encode it an MPEG-4 Standards compliant file (vs. a pseudo MPEG-4 .AVI container. The bit-rate is more efficient, and compatible with various media players.)
