Zen Coaster
The thrill, the escape from mundane everyday life... but probably the major thing is that I'm a big kid at heart.
fakestar
I've thought about this. It's the adrenaline. I like all sorts of nutty adrenaline rushes. I recently sprained my wrist really badly riding on the trunk of a car (in a subdivision, from one house to another).

larrygator
I recently sprained my wrist really badly riding on the trunk of a car Years ago I had a similar experience. After drinking a few, I fell off the back of a slow moving car in a parking lot, cracked my skull on the ground and ended up with a concussion. I decided not to ride on the back of cars anymore, but still drink.
Spookbaby
-Jahan Hey that's me! I'm one of the reasons you like coasters? Awwww.... I'm so touched Laura "Jahan touched me" Huls
Tömmioh
I love coasters because they are the only thing that love and will ever love me . No, but seriously. I like coasters, because of the thrill, fun, excitement, the experience. I like themeparks, because it's a nice way to 'escape' your everyday stressy life and the atmosphere in them is also often so happy and pleasant, some food/snacks are good. stormrider
What I like about coasters is that they are an adventure. They're fun because I think when I'm in a regular car, "Why can't THIS car fly around and do crazy stuff?" And roller coasters do crazy things. That and the whole complex chemical reaction that comes from riding them. Also, I like seeing well designed tracks because when it's the off season, they are just steel curves in the air. But I like steel curves in the air

Freefallbestrideever
^ Teh Riddler's Revenge, i always try to avoid this question when asked so i just say "i don't know" Nobody would understand anyway so whatever Adrenaline plays a big role, i love adrenaline, therefore i live rollercoasters I've always wanted to fly and rollercoasters come really close making it seem real (Tatsu even though i still like X better)
TheBannedKid
I think my interest in coaster sparked from past interests. I went from construction vehicles to trucks to monster trucks to trains and then to coasters. That and the fact that I loved riding them. Over time I realized I have an even bigger interest in mechanics and structures...an overall interest in engineering. I think that is what is pushing me as of now in this ever so awesome interest. I always thought that it was interesting that the basic structure of a coaster is similar to that of a building...two engineers with emphasis in structural engineering can go their separate ways, one works on buildings and the other works on coasters. Same basic principles yet two entirely different structures.
Adam_C
Escapism most definately, and the great idea that this park/ride/attraction is here purely for my enjoyment, and to make me happy!
scooterdoug
To me, roller coasters are a kind of art. From towering, sprawling Intamins to tight, twisted B&Ms, they are like sculptures to me. Even better, coasters are the only works of art that you can actually ride! That's why I love coasters...that and the G forces (especially negative ). verticalzero
Wonderful parks like De Eftling make you forget the real world and all your problems, transport you somewhere else where you can become a "Big Kid" and ride all the steel and wood monsters. I like all the turns and drops, camelhumps, the feel of a coaster and the sense of being out of control. It's also how the coasters look when they have been freshly painted. For looks and design you can't beat a GCI coaster
