Dark UFO

Although, I am avoiding spoilers so far this season, I found that this site usually had the most reliable sources for spoilers last season. He would generally post a complete episode spoiler the day of the episode. There is also a lot of theories and rumors on there.

I don't mind rumors and hypothesizing. However I have less of a desire to watch a show if I know what will happen.

As long as the post begins with something like the following I can avoid it.

*********SPOILER ALERT************

Lostpedia takes Dark UFO and other sources and puts them all in one spot, much easier!

My bad Larry...I'll use a Spoiler Tag next time!

Great WTF moment at the end, last night.

And Ben certainly got around, off the island, more than most of everybody knew, huh?

Evil, evil, evil he is.

OK, just watched the latest one, as it was my birthday yesterday, and we were out. Best episode of the season so far. I still have no idea what's going on, but I am endlessly entertained by this show. I especially liked the ending, though I sort of figured it had to be Ben (it would have been very lame if Sayid was working for some character we had never seen before!).

I also thought the time experiment was interesting, though I always figured there was a much greater time difference between the island and the rest of the world, and that it wasn't so much "where" the island was, but "when". Curious to see how they resolve this.

What is it about Sayid? He has grown hotter each week I have watched. We were all talking about it at work this morning.

I love reading spoilers. What's a good spoiler website for Lost?

YES!!! Sayid is SO hot!!!

I am loving this season so far.

Episode--The Economist. 2/14/08

Well we now know for certain that Sayid is one of the Oceanic Six. The series of Flash Forwards shows an unanticipated future for Sayid. Obviously Ben has convinced Sayid that whomever the people are on his "List" represent a tremendous threat to the Island and hence the Losties still living there. There isn't any other reason that Sayid would be willing to work for Ben, especially as an Assassin.

Sayid's deeds trouble him greatly; he clearly feels remorse over what he is doing. When he kills Mr Avellino (the golfer), he walks through the sprinklers, and when he throws away the phone (after talking to Ben) he cleanses his hand with the snow. (The water/snow is meant to wash away his sins.)

We learn that Sayid and Elsa are both searching for information about each others bosses. It seemed odd that Elsa uses a beeper (they still make those things?) rather than something more up to date. With all of the different time related theories about Lost, perhaps her boss is transmitting from the past when beepers are commonplace? (Rather than cel-phones)

The person who Elsa works for (The Economist) is likely part of the Maxwell Group, since both Elsa and Naomi were found to be wearing the same bracelet.

I have to say that I'm enjoying this new group of visitors to the island. Miles (the Ghost Hunter) has a great attitude, I love some of his lines so far........... (To Sayid) "Oh you were on Oceanic flight 815? Wow!" (To Daniel) "Dan if you say one more word, I'm going to break your fingers!" (About Naomi) "Yeah she was hot and I dug her accent"

Wow! That was quite a bomb there at the end of the episode.

********Spoiler Alert*********

-In the flash forward, Kate has adopted Aaron, Claire's baby. What happened on the island that led to this arrangement? It appears that she is playing it off that Aaron is her real son. And why does Jack not want to see Aaron? I am pretty confused about this.

I assuming we now know 5 of the 6. Jack, Kate, Sayid, Hurley, and Aaron.

-Sorry Elissa, no Kate and Sawyer hot loving tonight.

-Looks like we will have to wait till next week for the continuation of Sayid and Desmond's trip to the boat.

I liked the episode tonight.

^That grenade in the mouth bit was awesome! Talk about Miles doing a complete 180 on his attidude!

And they are slowly making me want to break my vow of no spoilers this season.

^Exactly, Aaron can't be one of the six since he wasn't a passenger.

Without getting into a "when does life begin?" debate, it could be argued that he actually was a "survivor", although not technically a "passenger". I'll be interested to see if he actually ends up counting as one of the six, or not. I'm inclined to think he won't be, but you never know.

In any event, I enjoyed the episode tonight and I'm really looking forward to the next one. The preview looked pretty action packed.

^ Was it just me or did I hear that 8 people returned from the island, with 6 survivors from the Oceanic flight? I'm probably just hearing things. But I assumed that Aaron was one of the 2, non Oceanic-survivors.

Either way, this episode blew me away. I usually don't care for Kate episodes, but this one had watching intently!

^I believe Jack said in the courtroom that 8 people survived the crash and only 6 of that 8 made it off the island. But then again, I may have heard that wrong myself.

He of course was saying whatever "they" coached them all into saying. I am assuming "they" are the same people that Sayid and Ben are tracking down and killing in the flash forwards.

As far as Aaron being one of the Oceanic 6, a huge DUH goes out to me.

I was still in shock at the ending, I guess I didn't think that one through too well.

Edit: Now that I have had time to wake up, help me get something straight guys. I had always assumed before this episode that Kate was already known to be one of the Oceanic 6. So, I went the whole episode thinking we were still going to get the big reveal of who the other member was. (Probably why I thought it was Aaron in the end)

Were we to assume, before this episode, that Kate was possibly a fugitive still when we saw her at the end of last season? Therefore, this week we know she faced her crimes from before the crash, so she is actually is the big reveal?

I really need to read spoilers again, I hate being confused like this!

^I would think that Ben is the one who concocted the story. There was probably quite a bit of bloodshed and dealmaking in determining the Oceanic 6. Ben's a schemer and would certainly be the best to propogate a tale.

I think the 4th estate would count Aaron as one of the "Oceanic 6". The term was probably dubbed by the press and they always try to find neat little clasifications. "Oceanic 6 plus one baby born on the island" just doesn't cut it in headlines.

As far as why Jack doesn't want to see Aaron - I have no clue. But remember Sayid relying on his heart versus his head will get some friends (Losties) killed. Ben reminded him of that when he was fixing Sayid after being shot in Germany.

This is just my guess, but I think Jack will have something to do with Claire's death and that's the reason he won't go see Aaron ( who remember is also his nephew!) I think Aaron would be counted as part of the O6, which would only leave one spot left. I still think it will be Sun and Jin will be meeting an untimely demise along with Claire.

And why mention there were 8 survivors and only 6 made it? Did they get rescued and bring back two bodies for "decent" buriels?

Also I don't think that Ben was the one who created the story, but rather it was created by whatever corporation sent the freighter. Ben must have snuck off the island. The reason being that Ben is now trying to silence the heads of this corp. using Sayid. Remember that Elsa was trying to get information out of Sayid about who he worked for, if they knew Ben was off the island, they would already have a pretty good idea who was gunning for them.

Next week we'll find out the fate of our helicopter expedition and hopefully find out more about the whole time displacement.

Did anyone else think anything of the taxi that picked up Kate? It looked odd to me, almost ominous, being the only one there and you just saw the back of the driver's head. I thought the driver would be a plot twist, but no. Also, I thought I saw Matthew Abaddon very, very briefly outside the court building at the beginning of the episode.

Posted

When Jack finds out about the relationship between his father and Claire's mother, this might be the reason he doesn't want any part of Aaron. I forgot about that relationship.

Also, I don't think anyone on the freighter is going to be alive in the future. Otherwise wouldn't this Abaddon guy be able to get all the info he needs from his people on the freighter. Why would he need info from Hurley. Maybe Ben pays off Miles and then Miles takes out the freighter people.

That's exactly what I've been thinking. I figure the 4 probably won't make it off the island at all.

Episode--Eggtown. 2/21/08

This episode starts by Locke asserting himself over Ben. He does this by moving into Ben's village, staying in Ben's house, and sleeping in Ben's bed. (While Ben is tucked away in a dark room) But, Locke still needs Ben, which is why he offers him breakfast. At which point, Ben points out just how desperately Lost Locke is.

We see a lot of Kate, including her ability to forgo a prison sentence on Federal/State charges for a lengthly term on probation.

Unfortunately for her, the two main men in her life don't seem to be the Fathering types. When Kate tells Sawyer that she's not pregnant, but had she been 'would that have been the worse thing in the world?' Sawyer didn't give the most compassionate response with 'Yes it would'....Ouch! (That's not what a girl wants to hear, even if it's true)

As for Jack, he backs away from seeing Aaron, for what reason we can only speculate. Perhaps Claire becomes critically injured and Jack is unable to save her, so she asks Kate/Jack to take care of Aaron?

Bens 60 second interaction with Miles was a bit of a let-down, since the only thing Miles wants is money. (I guess if he's willing to shake down Grandma, then why not screw over your freighter buddies as well?)

Anyhow, what was interesting was the specific amount he asked for...... We know that Miles has a 'Gift', did he use it to communicate with some of the deceased souls on the Island? In which case, they told him that Ben has that exact amount in Cash somewhere on the Island??? Time will tell.....

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Miles in a future episode walking near the beach with a shovel in hand. (To dig up Nikki & Paulo to get to those Diamonds!)

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly (#980 - Feb.29) has in it's bottom lefthand corner of the cover (below it's coverboi - Will Ferrell) a little lettered box, screaming

I won't give anything away here. It's not a lot. But it previews a couple of upcoming episodes.

Sort of.

Well, you all know this show, right? Who knows?

WOW!

That might have just been my favorite episode of Lost yet! I need to soak all of this info in before I know for sure.

Did anybody else get a Back To the Future vibe from this one? Not just because it was about time traveling, but actually how Back to the Future dealt with time travel models and theories.

Looks like Faraday is going to blow up one of the stations, so he can get a "flash" like Desmond.
