CedarPoint420 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Heres a video and some more photos of the inversion. www.funcoast.com/index/12013/#media
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 OMG, I don't pay attention for 1 day, just ONE day!! What do I get? I completely missed the roof going up. Man, that sucks. -James Dillaman
ECZenith Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Is funcoast really debating whether or not the newly installed corkscrew is in fact a corkscrew? I've yet to go through an Intamin corkscrew, made me realize there isn't one anywhere in the states.
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ Yeah, They're like going in a whole new direction, so back up bronco, prepare for some serious sidewinding. Yeah, I'm cool.
ConleyKE Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 With school starting, I just haven't really been on this site for awhile. Let's just say alot has happened in just over a week (more supports up, track up, and 60 pages of posts to catch up on)!
Beber Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Can you imagine a Winkwalker train on this track ? It would crash on the support on the left on the photo. That could be fun
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Never say never. Could be a wingwalker 4D where the arms fold in to keep the riders from hitting the support.
Milkchan Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 What ever CP is building it will record breaking, thats just Cedar point's style. The questions is "What records do you think the will be breaking?" I say it will be the longest, tallest, and fastest's coaster of its kind.
FeelTheFORCE Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Well if it IS an Aquatrax, it wouldnt be that hard to break those records considering theres only one other AQTRX in the world.
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Record breaking? It'll probably break the record of number of fake records that the Cedar Point hype machine can come up with.
redunzelizer Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 How's about these views... http://spotted.funcoast.com/albums/userpics/11429/IMG_0012~2.jpg http://spotted.funcoast.com/albums/userpics/11429/IMG_0010~1.jpg http://spotted.funcoast.com/albums/userpics/11429/IMG_0024~2.jpg
okinawaboy11 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 How's about these views... http://spotted.funcoast.com/albums/userpics/11429/IMG_0012~2.jpg http://spotted.funcoast.com/albums/userpics/11429/IMG_0010~1.jpg http://spotted.funcoast.com/albums/userpics/11429/IMG_0024~2.jpg Well than. That TOTALLY twisted up the idea. I don't think Aqua Trax can go upside down unless they created an AquaTrax train with OTSR's. Which could still be possible but sort of not beliveable. Buth hey, look what BGE did with the Dive Machine, they made it floorless. No one saw that coming. Damn, they're going to have this thing up by Christmas it looks like it. They are moving incredibly fast on this coaster.
ECZenith Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ I would imagine before xmas the way they've been moving. Not that it matters since it's opening next spring.
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^ But they then have to put in all the water effects to finish up their inverting aquatrax, so even after the track is finished theirs still a lot of work to be done. -James ";)" Dillaman
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Well the ride structure could be up by winter. If it will indeed have LIMs then that could take longer to install and test. Not too mention how much water they need to pump in. CAn't have an aquatrax without water.
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^^ You can, theoretically have an aquatrax without water, it just refers to the vehicle design. ^I'd say it definitely will have a launch at some part during the ride. -James Dillaman
redunzelizer Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Not too mention how much water they need to pump in. CAn't have an aquatrax without water. Why not? Maybe that's the actual record breaking they are going for: "Dryest Aquatrax un urff!"
Carnage Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 so is it definately launched? Not "definetly". But I'd say it's very likely. Oohhh they could have water in the launch track. It'd be like a jetski when it launches. Now that just screams aqua.
goleafsgo Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 the thing on the left of the 1st 2 pics looked kinda like it could be a drop... although im guessing it is just an airtime hill.
jamesdillaman Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 ^It's a hill, not a drop. That was built a couple days ago.
BeemerBoy Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Okay, on a serious note (I know, stop the press, right? ), let's discuss this aquatrax train/OTSR issue for a sec. I mentioned it earlier as a joke, but it really does bring up an interesting question. With FoF @ PKI operating without OTSRs, does that mean that they would not be required for this inverting aquatrax? Just a thought.
goleafsgo Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 i think they would have to put OTSRs on it, because i dont think the general public would be too comfortable riding a fast inverting coaster with just lap bars. I dont see why you cant have an aquatrax without OTSRs...
