Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

I wouldn't mind seeing hydroblaster come back, same layout although maybe at a toilet bowl at the end to finish it off?

Hydroblasted was destroyed they did not keep any of the pieces so I doubt it will come back

Doesn't have to be the same pieces, could just be all new pieces and new layout with the same name.

Hydroblaster is a good name, but I don't know if it's good enough to recycle back into the waterpark attached to a new slide complex...at least not so soon after the old one was removed. But what do I know? Since Carowinds is pretty much "confirmed" to be getting a waterpark expansion in 2016, I think we'll get the same. Whatever they get, we'll probably get a more compact version of, same as 2015 with the massive KD waterpark expansion. Cedar Fair will most likely cut a deal with whoever is the supplier for a bulk purchase. It makes financial sense that way.

Whatever Valleyfair's next addition to the waterpark will be, I'm hoping that they will get a little more creative with the slide layouts because even though the new slide tower will be a lot a fun (haven't ridden it yet), four of the six slides have basically the same layout.

Another thing I'd like to see them do is expand the lazy river in some way because, in its current state, it's a very short lazy river compared to the ones at other major parks.

Ok, that's strange.

By the way, you can see it without inverting colours.

It looks like someone took a screenshot of Cedar Fair's new website and edited that in. I think someone's messing with you.

I got the screenshot below from the Cedar Fair webpage, that must have been edited in but it depends on who sent it. When I looked on the Cedar Fair mobile site though, when you click on parks VF or KI wasn't listed. I thought I would check the mobile site just to be sure it wasn't on there.

I was wondering about this. Did Carowinds invest in Fury 325 did they pay for the entire coaster and the remodel of the front plaza or did they get help from Cedar Fair? If they did get funding help from Cedar Fair couldn't they do the same thing with Valleyfair?

Also why are there never any rumors about Valleyfair on screamscape? Maybe a first of its kind a B&M launch flying coaster would that work something unique and different from other parks. Also a B&M launch inverted?

Could Valleyfair have a Nemesis sized inverted like at Alton Towers?

I've read somewhere that Carowinds got some substantial help from tourism tax breaks and whatnot from one of the Carolinas...if Shakopee/State of Minnesota is willing to cut some tax money, then Valleyfair may see a significant amount of new investment. They did for the Mall of America. If Valleyfair does become a next-level park, that can only enhance the tourist economy for the state.

They talked about Valleyfair on screamscape when the waterpark rumors expansion rumors were deciding to float around. I think if a sufficient rumor was to go around, it would end up on screamscape. For now, we just have fan observations. But I don't know where screamscape gets its information from.

This is a random question, but does anyone know if there is a military discount for admission on non military appreciation days? Hoping a Valleyfair employee can tell me. Couldn't find the info on the website.

UPDATE: I found the answer on the FAQ page.

I was at the park today and I noticed with all the general improvements most of the park looks great. It is a very nice looking park and it is developing some atmosphere. Two parts of the park I noticed looked pretty bad and could really use some work. The first is the walk from enterprise to Route 76. Pavement is torn up, you can see the unappealing looking parking lot, the is cain fence all around, they really should add a few rides in some spots like the old chaos spot, the WT turnaround, the area between the WT turn around and the SV spiral spike where you can clearly see the parking lot. The other area was the path that connects the Corkscrew Midway with the supercat mid way. Pavement is torn up there, and if you walk through there and look around it seems very unappealing.

Great observations. Saw something somewhere quoting Ouimet as stating that the major focus for Cedar Fair is improving the midway experience, and that seems to be a chainwide initiative. I expect to see troubled midways systematically revamped when any new ride/attraction is placed nearby, with new finishes, flower beds, or what have you. The two areas you identified have great potential for improvement, especially the first one! Could tie in with whatever improvement project is planned for the amphitheater.

One spot in front of the park they could improve on is removing the amphitheater relocate the Enterprise maybe over by Corkscrew and move the walk way all the way to the left of the Wild Thing turn around expand the walk way out in the parking lot and recconect it under the Steel Venom twist and level or flatten that whole space and you could put a B&M inverted with a 170 foot lift hill make it go over the clock tower front plaza area and have the track go down were the dinasours alive sits add a loop at the first drop and have a cobra roll with a strong helix at the end and have the brake run go behind the depot refreshments. Use that land were the chaos use to sit and relocate the Enterprise maybe some new paint on the Enperprise and were the scrambler use to sit add a Larson Flyers perfect spot for one. Were the amphitheater sits would be a perfect spot for a new roller coaster that's how I would develope the front of the park.

This is a B&M coaster I would like to see in front of the park.

(1) B&M inverted coaster possibly launch first of its kind?

(2) B&M floorless be happy if we got one of those 150 foot lift.

(3) B&M flyer first of its kind launch?

(4) B&M dive machine 200 feet.

(5) B&M wing coaster.

There's plenty of space we're the amphitheater sits for a new roller coaster and that part of the park shouldn't be a problem for flooding. Taking out Excalibur could be a spot for the water park expansion. Focus on the front of the park for a new roller coaster.

Not completely sure if this is true, but I heard somewhere that the $50 million for Carowinds' expansion plan was given to them by Cedar Fair and not money that the park made. Since Valleyfair was marked as park with potential for significant expansion along with Carowinds and California's Great America, it's possible that a certain amount was given to Valleyfair too. I doubt they would give them a full $50 million though because Valleyfair's market is not as large as Carowinds'.

I went to the park this morning took a photo of Excalibur the second train is not on yet. By the way when I was there this morning there's a new bull dozer over by the toll booth lanes with construction cones and fresh dirt wonder what they are doing? This is new.
