John Knotts
I'm glad they changed the location of the skater. It seemed like it would have been so out of place randomly plopped next to Deja Vu.
Dietcokevan
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sierra Falls!!! It is the best water ride at SFMM Â EDIT: So now what are they going to do with the dug up section of the original location of the roller skater. atem122
I have to say, Sierra Falls is actually probably my favorite water ride they have. Sucks that it's leaving, but ah well, it's smarter to put the kiddie coaster in that area anyway. Plus, there are still 4 more water rides at SFMM, so no big deal really. But for all intensive purposes, we need to save this historic landmark at SFMM. I remember going down that slide with my grandma, my other grandma, my other other grandma, Master Katy, my god-grandma, and my Compound Overlord (each ride with a little bit of action thrown in ). The fact that they're willing to trash such a great piece of my personal history for a crappy relocated roller skater that has 2 clones within driving distance is SICKENING. Honestly, I'm so truly disgusted by this choice, I urge everyone to write SFMM angry letters and send them pictures of the rashes they got from when Sierra Falls's water touched them. Such a shame. coasterking2981
I asked the same thing with the dug up area around Deja Vu. Â But it actually makes more sense that they put the ride there, as the right side of the park does need more rides and that area is the more family friendly area of the park. Â For Sierra Falls, why don't they just move it to Hurricane Harbor?
WFChris
They should give it a Thomas theme so the area can turn into a little less of a failure.
gforce532
To be honest. I always forget that Sierra Falls is there. It just seems so out of place to be there rather than in HH. So I guess I won't miss it, if it will be taken out completely.
greatamerica1990sfan
Stop complaining about loosing Sierra Falls! Let's see SFMM has 3 top notch water rides: Log Jammer, Jet Stream, Roaring Rapids, Tidal Wave WOW that's alot PLUS there's Hurricane Harbor right next door with tons of great slides. There's nothing to boo hoo about. I think it's a great location for the coaster & they made a wise choice. I think though Sierra Falls is a twin waterslide to the Fieval's waterslide at Universal Studios Orlando. They look pretty similar.
Mechanic
The Sierra Falls location makes a lot more sense for the kiddie coaster placement. Sierra Falls was a fun little slide, but I only bothered to ride it once or twice. I won't miss it too much if it does end up leaving entirely rather than being relocated. Tmcdllr
If SF is such a great waterslide, then why not move it to HH? Surely there is room there for it, it shouldn't be that expensive to move it, and will give another waterslide choice to guests in that area. robbalvey
I'm glad they changed the location of the skater. It seemed like it would have been so out of place randomly plopped next to Deja Vu. This is completely what is wrong with Magic Mountain, though. Why can't more amusement parks learn things from well balanced parks like Dollywood or Busch? In almost every instance where there is a major "thrill" ride, there is a family ride, family play area, or a family attraction next to it. Â This way when you go to the park with your family, and some of them are not 48" or 54", you don't have to split up at opposite sides of the park away from your group. Â For example, Dollywood has that awesome water play area and the kids playground right in between Mystery Mine and Thunderhead, and then there is the Splash Battle in between Mystery Mine and Tennessee Tornado. Your family never has to go too far away and it's easy to baby-swap and trade off with the bigger kids. Â If you are at Six Flags Magic Mountain with a smaller child, and want to ride either Deja Vu or Terminator, the closest "kids" ride to you is either the Carousel at the front of the park, or the Scrambler. Â It would have been a perfect fit for that area. Â But then again, it doesn't appear that SFMM will really be targeting "families" anymore... SoCalCoasters
It seems that Magic Mountain just stuck all the kiddie rides in one area and then just nonchalantly built the rest of the park with no regards to younger kids... Â Not a good move.... Â I went back in April, and it really seemed like the park was becoming more, and more like a family park...it is sad to see them taking the wrong approach to the current situation the park is in... SAVE SIERRA FALLS!!!! In all seriousness, I'm pretty bummed about the loss of Sierra Falls. I liked it and will miss it. I just hope that they keep it open for the rest of Fright Fest so I can get my final rides in.
ebl
I have to agree with Robb on the "kiddie coaster" location. Next to Deja Vu was the right place because while the "big kids" ride Deja Vu, the young 'uns could ride the kiddie coaster. Years ago, there was the Speedy Gonzales ride right across from Viper, which was a good idea. Â Sierra Falls is a fun little ride, but if they moved it to Hurricane Harbor, I don't think it would be missed. Depending on what's on the other side, they could just turn it 180* and have it in Hurricane Harbor. Â Eric

rcdude
Well, if they are removing Yosemite Sam Sierra Falls then there goes the one non-coaster ride I make sure to ride every time I visit the park. Although it isn't anything amazing, it was something you don't find very often in amusement parks and that made it unique. Â I agree with several others that the coaster would have been better over by Terminator Salvation and Deja Vu. Sure, this will improve SFMM's kiddie area, but unless everyone in your group is elementary-school aged or younger that area won't keep many people occupied for more than a half hour. Outside of it, there is maybe one ride that kids can do for every five adult rides, and they aren't evenly distributed around the park. Â Looks like SFMM has now become a coaster only park for me. Other than coasters and Yosemite Sam Sierra Falls, the only other attractions I've been on more than once or twice are the Jet Stream and Log Jammer, and I never ride those if the line is greater than fifteen minutes because there are better rides of their type elsewhere. atem122
I do have to say that once you got the technique down for the ride, Sierra Falls was pretty awesome. But it's definitely not something I'm going to lose sleep over. I'll probably miss it a tad since it was a fun thing to do at SFMM, but you can basically replicate the same experience at any water park, so it's cool. I would love it if the park included family, kids and non-coaster attractions all over the park, much like Kings Island does. I just felt like this second hand coaster with the Mr.Six theme just kind of randomly plopped down felt weird to me. I'd rather see these type of investments made with at least a little attention to detail. I also feel like the current state of the park's kids area is downright pathetic, and needs all the help it can get. Â But no by all means I agree! I wish SFMM would strike a balance between coasters and kids/family rides.
