P. 2239: Superman: Escape from Krypton permanently closed

From my experience, the audio on Terminator is so difficult to hear that the ride isn't much different without it once you've crested the lifthill. Even when it is working, the audio track isn't that good (especially on the brakes) and the only time I've enjoyed it was with the WCB audio track. On X2, however, the ride seems strange now when there is no audio because it actually fits with the ride and you can hear it. Even without it, X2 is a great ride. The audio is really just something added to increase stimulation during the ride.

On the other hand, rides like Revenge of the Mummy and Space Mountain (and to a lesser extent California Screamin') have audio tracks entirely written for the ride that fit perfectly. When those rides are missing the audio, it seems like the ride is missing something. I've never felt that way on X2 or Terminator when there is no audio.

Regarding the $10 for 30 minutes of ERT, I'd say, go for it!

Have a lottery system in the mornings, maybe an hour or so before opening? Most (if not all?) Broadway shows have a drawing a bit before show time for a certain number of seats for only $20-$35 or so. Most shows have a certain section in the first two rows that they dedicate to lottery or RUSH tickets. It works great for them. Also, this is almost completely pure profit for Six Flags, so why not? I know if I was at any park, I'd pay that much for ERT.

To quote coasterjunkie can we now call Elissa 'E'???

Audio or not, i'll still be looking forward to my first ride on Terminator when I visit this summer.(pre-show and all)

Once Six Flags is thru its Bankruptcy, it will be on track to fix the little details throughout the park. (whether its audio issues on Terminator, lack of baby changing station in the mens room, or a little paint chipping here and there)

On X2, even when the audio is working properly I have never heard anything during the main part of the ride. I only hear the audio on the lift hill and at the end of the ride after the second raven turn. On Terminator, when it was working I have always been able to hear it loud and clear during the whole ride. I enjoy both coasters either way but, from judging by the rides I have had, having no audio on Terminator is a much bigger loss than having no audio on X2.

Ok I have had a question on the Early entry subject. What if they add 20 bucks to the Xtreme Play Pass and add that perk where certain rides will open 1 hour early for only those pass holders. It works at Cedar Point when I went and It really made me think If I lived next to Cedar Point I'd pay the extra for the extra hour or 30 minutes. I just always wondered why SFMM didn't do this because it seems like an awesome idea. But there must be a reason for it.

-Andrew "I'm buying my Xtreme Play Pass regardless" Iorio

EDIT" As for the audio I have always heard X2's audio in all parts of the ride. Terminators though after the life all I hear are the quotes such as the infamous "TAKE THE TUNNEL!"

^Remeber Disney parks and Cedar Point which have an early entry, are actually resorts unlike MM with hotels and things to do outside the parks. They use early access as a way to help sell hotel rooms. From my experience at MM I find the first say 2 hours excluding X2 and Tatsu are usually not that bad in terms of crowds.

Well, to be honest, this is how the whole "Take the Tunnel" joke started in the first place.

On Terminator's media day the audio was so loud and it was so noisy that once you crested the lifthill all we heard was...

NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! *TAKE THE TUNNEL!!!* NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE! NOISE!

"Take the Tunnel" was really the only actual audible part of the soundtrack that any of us could really make out. So when people would ask "What did you think of the ride audio?" we would be all "Well, all I remember is that someone told us to take the tunnel!"

It sounded GREAT on the lift hill and the brake run, but other than that.... TAKE THE TUNNEL!!!!

Honestly, even when Terminator's audio IS working, I can barely hear it during the ride. Without the audio, it's still a great ride.

Which is why it should be improved, or changed, to the point where you can hear it but not have it screaming in your ear like it was on 5/21. If you can't hear it now, that doesn't mean they should just give up on it!

It's going to be difficult to find a happy medium regarding Terminator's audio. Being a wooden coaster, it naturally has a louder sound to it than a steel coaster does. It's hard to "shout" over the noise of the ride. As has been mentioned, the only parts of the audio on that ride I've heard is the "HERE THEY COME!" at the top of the lift, "TAKE THE TUNNEL!", and the part from the final brake to the station. Kudos to SFMM for trying something new, but this aspect seems to be a bit troublesome.

Hey guys, I've got a question regarding the Flash Pass. I'm planning on going to Magic Mountain on the 8th of May for my birthday as a gift from my father and I was wondering if he purchases the Flash Pass for me online, will I have to bring the credit card used for the purchase as proof? I'm just curious how the process works when you order it online because of the fact that my father wont be tagging along with me for the trip, due to his age and the fact that he's not much of a coaster fan himself.

Six Flags actually had perfected Terminator's audio level before it died. I rode it in December and February and the audio was very audible without being Media Day loud (which was WAY too loud). Too bad it went the way of some of the side paneling on the trains--gone.

If an extra $20 on the cost of an Xtreme Play Pass was the only added cost I would do it. Especially if I could get a few rides on X2 that way rather than fighting crowds on a busy day. I would ride X2 during that 30 mins or 1 hour and use the rest of the day to ride everything else.

I've said this before, but I think the Xtreme Pass is underpriced for what you get. The price of It could go up by $25 or even $50 without any extras and still be a great value.

Just my opinion, of course.
