jamesdillaman
in regards to the $1 lockboxes, I like the system in place at holiday world, where they are free but they lock with a key. You hold onto the key during the ride, and unlock your stuff when you get back to the station. It's the only park where I would feel comfortable leaving a camera or expensive cell phone in the station while I ride.... -James Dillaman
coolcalicoaster
^Yeah I wouldn't leave my kid in a station at MM Wrong place to leave anything unattended.
PAL
At the park now. Pretty empty, 3 runs on Termy without changing seats. Hot too! The free water is flowing. So far we've hit the wharf-like place near Goldrusher and a couple stands at the food court near Goliath. Sushi guy was nice - Ben and Jerry's girl didn't exactly smile but we got our H2O (if sans ice).
ZeroG001
That's great to hear that the park has been empty for the past two days, since I'll be heading out next week! I'm also glad to hear that the free water is being handed out. I always ask for cups of water at Knott's, but have never done so at SFMM, so I'll give it a try on Monday. coolcalicoaster
^If you never been to MM you are in for a pretty good treat, especially if the park has been so empty. Plenty of different coasters to try out. Even though the stupid adds ruin the trains, Viper is underrated and Riddler is a great standup. Tatsu is the best flyer and I have heard more positive than negative about Terminator. X2 is an experience you must try and although the rest of the coasters are just blah compared to the ones mentioned, many would be star attractions at smaller parks. Have a great time!!! ZeroG001
^Thanks! I usually only visit the park 2-3 times a year, and this will be my last time going in 2009. That's why every visit is special to me, because I don't go as often as I'd like to. I haven't tried out Terminator yet, so I'm excited because I've heard lots of good things. And I've never waited less than an hour for X2, so I'm looking forward to the lack of crowds!
GivenOneChance
^^ lol Goliath is by no means "blah"... please tell me you forget to mention that one?
PAL
We're 17 rides in at 2 pm - sure it'll be great on Mon
GivenOneChance
I lost my season pass on x2. and it was the only thing in my pocket. i was SUPER surprised seeing as how it weighs almost nothing. They found it and mailed it to me about 2 months and $25 replacement fee later. You should have put it in your backpocket (assuming you were wearing some jeans or something). Whenever you ride that ride...that's what I do personally. I usually like to put my wallet in my front pockets but on X2 when we're going up the lift, things tend to slide...so I sit on it. coolcalicoaster
^^ lol Goliath is by no means "blah"... please tell me you forget to mention that one? No, I actually really meant that. It is very blah to me. Sorry
GivenOneChance
^^ No way..... Goliath is the best ride in this park..... I understand that's your opinion, and you're entitled to it though. I'm just shocked. Never heard negative comments about Goliath. Though I think ZeroG001 should know that there's a lot more rides than X2 and Tatsu and an underrated Viper and Riddlers that he should have some expectations for that exceed the broad term of "blah". @ ZeroG001 : Regardless of what people say, you should consider and look forward to riding more of what he have here like Goliath, X2, Terminator, Batman, Riddlers, Viper, and Deja Vu. ZeroG001
Well, Goliath is my 5th favorite coaster in the park. Behind X2, Riddler, Tatsu, and Batman. I'm more of an inversion type of guy, but Goliath is still a must ride for me whenever I visit the park. I've only been on Deja Vu once, and that was over a year ago, so I'm going to want to try it again because I've forgotten what my thoughts were on it. But thanks for all the info guys! Wes
No, I actually really meant that. It is very blah to me. Sorry Hmmm I would have thought you would consider it a kewl coaster, dude.
coolcalicoaster
I think there are many cool coasters at MM and I would even say Goliath is cool. However, I never thought it was that great and I know I am not alone on that. I would honestly prefer a ride on Viper.
Wes
Would you say preferring Viper over Goliath makes you as a "kewl coaster dude"?

Bolliger&Mabillard
I get moe airtime riding down ragged streets than on Goliath. Just saying...
CreditCrazy
^ I don't get it. Sure, Magnum and Phantom's Revenge have tons more airtime than Goliath. Goliath only has one hill, really, how much airtime could it have?? A LOT (just on that one hill of course). That 3rd hill has some of the best airtime ever (imo)...and that's what keeps me coming back to Goliath, that's what makes Goliath awesome, that's what makes Goliath the 2nd best coaster at SFMM and that's what makes Goliath my #4 coaster. I love that 3rd hill! It is truly amazing.
Guest
That 3rd hill has some of the best airtime ever (imo). It has good air but that hill is nothing compared to any hill on rides like El Toro or SROS
Bolliger&Mabillard
^^I've been on El Toro, Nitro, Steel Force, Steel Eel, Millienium Force, and hell, even Titan (which mind you is pretty much the same damn ride) and every single oe of these coasters make Goliath feel like Canyon Blaster to me. Don't get me wrong, Goliath is a fun ride, but I normally skip it on most of my visits. Nice negative G's on the airtime hill, nice positive G's on the helix...and that's it. christianscoasters
I've ridden Titan and Goliath, and I find Titan to be MUCH better than Goliath. Strange ...
atem122
I was there today and had a great time, Terminator was a literal walk on all day, the longest I waited for any coaster whose name doesnt start with X and end with 2 was probably about 3 trains. PTR in a bit
ebl
Just a quick reminder---SFMM only has a couple of weeks left of daily operation, and they've already cut back closing time to 6pm from 10pm just a couple of weeks ago. Monday, September 7 is the last weekday the park is open till the next holiday (Columbus Day? Veterans Day?). So if you're gonna go and take advantage of the short lines...go NOW.
