haiderodes
The last time i remember riding it was June 2001.
Mr Stratosphere
It to me already stands out a lot more. But yeah I cant wait to see it completely done.
shawn_b_c
Hmm, Â I wonder - Does anyone know wether they are using good old fasioned paintbrushes, or a sprayer for the painting? It would seem to me that the painting would go by much faster if they would use a sprayer..... Then, maybe we can get more than one or two coasters painted in a year.... haiderodes
^ I'm thinking its a combination of both...sprayers and brushes.
Double0Kevin
I'm sure it's just brushes and rollers. California Law prohibits the use of sprayers on that type of job because of what blows off into the air. That's why V2, Medusa, and Boomerang at SFDK were all painted with brushes and rollers. GoogleMickey
Can't believe this still hasn't been posted, but SFMM has mailed fylers out to locals saying buy a season pass now and get a flash pass for X2 when it opens, meaning that X will have some wait! PURE
^I got that too. A couple weeks ago actually. Â I'm pretty sure they only use rollers and brushes. I think it has to do with the overspray because it would get all over the other parts of the ride. However if you do see spraying, it is typically high powered water to clean the dirt off the ride before they apply the paint.
ebl
As old fashioned as it may seem, using rollers and brushes is the most efficient way to paint a coaster. New coaster track/supports may arrive already painted, but that's because they were painted in an enclosed, environmentally controlled area. Â But, having seen it in person with my own two eyes, X2 is getting its paint job with brushes and rollers. Â Eric

X2 gets Flashpass because the capacity will supposedly be double what X's capacity was, which is pretty awesome.

ebl
The lift hill. Â Just kidding...I won a small slice of the track at Robb and Elissa's DVD party last Saturday. Looks sort of like a giant drink coaster. Â Eric
astroworldfan1
Wow. That's cool! I'd love to have a piece of a sucky coaster! Â You should start a collection of Roller Coaster pieces! Â -Tatum
ebl
^ Maybe they sell pieces of Psyclone in one of the gift shops. Come out and find out! Â Eric
AllenA07
I (somewhere) have a couple peices from X. I believe I have stored away at my parents house a bolt (which is around 40 lbs), land marked from the coaster. Â I would have loved though to have a few parts from Flashback. speedracer
Ride package for TT has been confirmed, will definitely include a re-themed Goliath Jr.:  Six Flags Magic Mountain plans to re-theme the Goliath Jr. mini-roller coaster as Percy the Small Engine to fit into the new Thomas Town kiddie land opening in summer 2008. For the non-toddler-toting set, Percy is an anthropomorphic Avonside saddle-tank steam engine and friend of Thomas the Tank Engine. The Valencia amusement park’s new kiddie land will include a Harold the Helicopter ride, a Bertie the Bus ride and a train with passenger cars Annie and Clarabelle.  Goliath Jr., which will get a new train theme and Percy’s green paint with red trim, has a long history of makeovers. SharkTums
^That is incorrect. Â We were told Saturday that they are ONLY getting the re-theme of Goliath Jr. to Percy and a Thomas The Tank Engine Train Ride. There will also be theming and a retail shop. No Bertie the Bus ride or Harold the Helicopter.
astroworldfan1
I loved Thomas the Tank Engine as a child! Glad to here that MM is getting a kiddie area. Â I'm sure a lot of people are going to miss the Metro. So it's offical, it's not coming back? What types of problems did Metro have? Â -Tatum
RAWKIN_coaster38
I don't know really but wasn't it closed a lot? Â Does anyone know the specific time X2 will open? Like I've heard "In the Spring" but that could be any time from March to June... Â Any estimates?
SharkTums
We were told late Spring, like around Memorial Day, but nothing is set at all and the weather has and will be quite bad here for about a week so that can delay the date as well. PURE
That's too bad the TT isn't going to be getting those 2 other flats. That would have made the addition that much better. Â I dunno about everyone else, but I don't have much faith in this Thomas Town as of yet. Â I'm sure a lot of people are going to miss the Metro. So it's offical, it's not coming back? What types of problems did Metro have? Â I don't think its official that it's not coming back. In fact, that would have been a GREAT question to ask the tour guides on Saturday. Since I wasn't there, did anybody happen to ask about the Metro? If so, any answers worth mentioning?
SharkTums
^Metro is NOT coming back. They said that it is very expensive to take it out, so it will probably sit around for awhile. Â I also was a bit disappointed in the Thomas Town news, but it will be very nicely themed and there will be room for additions. We were told to remember that they just announced how much money they need to cut out of the giant corporate budget. Â We're waiting on some images from SFMM, then will put up our big update from Saturday!
