PeoplemoverMatt Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 One ride in particular where they employ too many people, I think, is Riddlers Revenge... there's people standing around...totally not really needed. As for the motivating part, you should call them out on it. Tell them they're not doing their job or to some effect...and make a scene out of it... Instead of making a scene, it would be much, much, more productive to leave a note at Guest Relations about what you saw.

atem122 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I don't wanna freak ya'll out or anything, cause this is pretty rad *cough*, but Six Flags Magic Mountain will be featured on tonight's episode of the Bachelor. (Info courtesy of the Six Flags Facebook page)
coasterking2981 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^What, is the Bachelor a SFMM fanboy or something?
6flagsbrad Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 hey, I'm heading to magic mountain on saturday are all of the painting jobs over? will all of the coasters be open? -brad
atem122 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Thought I'd share..... SixFlagsMM Goliath is up & running! Batman is now operating Blue, & fewer lines. WhooHoo! |>|>|>|>|>|>! Andrew "No fake words used in this tweet" Iorio I believe this should answer your first question... I know Ninja is down right now, at least 3 of the water rides are too, but both Jet Stream and Log Jammer were open when I went a couple weeks ago, so I'm assuming they're still open. Edit: Looking at the "SixFlagsMM" Twitter page, I'm going to call bs on it. It seriously sounds like it's some 8th grade fanboy running this thing, here are a few quotes from the page: Unfortunatly FreeFall is closed since 08'. The Tower/Structure still stands in the middle of The Riddler's Revenge though. Six Flags Magic Mountain: Most and best rollercoasters in SoCal! Hahaha. Yes. Goliath is indefinitely one that makes Magic Mountain whole! And we all hope Goliath will "unplanningly" re-open soon! I doubt that a company trying to have itself taken seriously would approve of these false facts and bad grammar.
coasterking2981 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^ And so what little false trust in Twitter I have gets shot down in flames lol
AWill961 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Great news: Freefall is unplanningly MAKING A COMEBACK this summer! Courtesy of SixFlagsMM Via Twitter! No. 1 Trusted SixFlagsMM update source.
austinlee Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 When I was there yesterday Deja Vu and Ninja were closed. All other coasters were open. Roaring Rapids and Tidal Wave were closed. Log Jammer and Jet Stream were open.
ebl Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Even though it's winter here, I may just get on Jet Stream next time I go. It's been a long time since I rode that (it might have even still been "Arrowhead Splashdown" at the time!). Eric

cooksta77 Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^*Facepalm* It was a joke. Andrew "Never trust Twitter" Iorio
utahTPR Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Going to be there on the 23rd. Looking to hit as much as possible, but if they're open, the coasters we'd love to hit are: X2 Tatsu Goliath Batman: The Ride Terminator Salvation Viper Deja Vu Scream Colossus Revolution Any strategies/tips/tricks/recommendations? I'll admit I haven't read through the whole thread... Where should we eat our 2+ meals that day? Thanks in advance.
austinlee Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^^^^ I rode Jet Stream on Sunday. It felt about 80 degrees at the time. By the time I got over to Log Jammer it had cooled down a lot and there was a large group of people using the water cannons. Since it was not as warm anymore and I didn't want to get soaked, by the water cannons, I skipped it. It was the first time I had gone on either ride since August. I never ride Roaring Rapids or Tidal Wave since I hate to walk around the park soaking wet.
ebl Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ^ I've never gotten real wet on Tidal Wave, but have come off of Roaring Rapids soaked. While I do enjoy those whitewater raft rides, I tend to avoid them because I don't like to be wet the entire day. If it's hot, I'll ride because I will dry off fairly quickly. Eric
willthethrill Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Ill be really impressed with the parks progress when I see this again.
willthethrill Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 yeah, I tried to edit the post to make myself more clear as I was expecting a wise-acre response but couldn't for some reason. I don't think we'll see a line that long again either...
ebl Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 ^ I've seen the line get pretty long on crowded days, and I suspect that it may be long for at least a short time because Batman hasn't been open in awhile. But remember, too, that at one time, Batman was the hottest thing in the park. Nowadays, most people have already ridden it and tend to think of it as "old school." That's too bad because even 15 years later, it still packs quite a punch. Eric
willthethrill Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I went the first summer it opened, I'm sure there are others here who remember the insanity that was the BTR line. There were a lot fewer coasters back then as well. Leads me to wonder... The reason for putting that block brake on Colossus was to increase capacity, hardly a necessity at all these days with 15 coasters. Think we can ever expect a return for glory for that ride? We all know its been a pipe dream but it actually seems plausible these days. It would become a very popular "family" ride again if it became fun again. I say family coaster because it does sit in the shadow of a big boy, and relatively speaking its much tamer than it was when it debuted. The superstructure still exists...
coasterking2981 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 ^If you are talking about the MCBR, werent those added on because a woman was thrown off and died because of it years ago?
willthethrill Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 (I believe) She was ejected on the small camelback just after the second drop. That part of the ride was re-profiled shortly after the ride opened. I doubt there are many that post on the forums that can provide testament to the awesomeness Colossus was on day 1
PeoplemoverMatt Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I went the first summer it opened, I'm sure there are others here who remember the insanity that was the BTR line. The insanity that was the B:TR line...how about the insanity that was the Flashback line? Flashback, when it first opened, saw massive queues that would reach 2-3 hours. What does they really tell you about popularity/wait times/what makes a good ride?
cooksta77 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Not to mention a line that extended accross the bridge and to the bottom of the staircase for a ride that only got audio and a paint job on its opening day *Cough* X2 *Cough*. Andrew "Maybe our roller skater will have a 2 hour line on opening day " Iorio
