Although I LOVE water parks, there's something slightly creepy about abnormally large public pools. Am I the only one on that thought? I'd almost rather spend a weekend at the Jersey Shore house. -

Does the fact we have hurricanes and high winds here at times have any appeal to having a super high attraction? The park and manufacture may have felt safer due to climate, to go smaller for safety reasons. Or another 80ft. of steel costs more, and is not necessary? Or perhaps FAA height restrictions? Or they just wanted a 220ft. one instead? In a hurricane zone, what difference does another 80ft. make? I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that wasn't a factor. -

Do I dare ask what that woman is holding in the "Rice!" picture? -
^ This is pretty much what I was thinking. Also,if it had been an accident that was perhaps out of their hands (such as a rogue wave, or a fire started by a freak occurrence), then maybe it'd be easier to justify smaller compensation. However, we're talking about what seems to be complete negligence here, and that would be REALLY difficult to overlook had I been a passenger.

Translation: "I'm waiting to see how many arguments I cause as a result of trying to stir the pot." Preferred response: "This just proves that people prefer good coasters to bad ones." -

The atheists clearly rigged the poll this year. -
Psst, "frozen with fear" doesn't involve panning around the room with your camera while the building is falling apart. It does in my book.

I like how it's titled "Shocking Collapse of Hockey Rink Roof." Let's be honest, the most shocking part of it was the idiot who stood there and continued to film it. Pro Tip: If a building's roof is collapsing right in front of you...........RUN.

Oh my god why would they do this... Because they're awesome. -
Im sorry but that logic makes no sense. How can you base a decision to not take a cruise due to a error the captain made on a ship only related to Carnival because the company owns it. With that logic you obviously wont ever take a Princess, Holland America, or Cunard cruises. Accidents happen, but you can't blame a company as a whole for one mistake a captain made. Easy. The same way I could avoid flying American or United in the wake of learning about drunk, and/or overworked pilots. If a major company, whose primary focus is on transporting thousands of passengers from point A to point B, shows negligence in its operating procedures (which includes the daily supervision and compliance of its pilots/captains), then sure, it's reasonable to be skeptical of the entire company. Common sense would obviously reason that you're still fairly safe anytime you take a cruise, but still, there's nothing wrong with putting that whole company under a microscope, or avoiding it altogether.

What Movies are You Looking Forward to Seeing 2012?

Act of Valor. 80% of it was filmed with a Canon DSLR. That's just amazing. -
^ Thank you, Captain Redundant.

I don't follow the sport of freestyle skiing, but I can tell you it just became a lot less attractive with the death of Sarah Burke.
