  1. Shari, that was really sweet. I'm so sad to hear of your loss, but so proud of you posting this in her memory. These pics remind me so much of my grandma, who was responsible for countless visits to WDW, and probably the biggest reason I grew up appreciating the place as much as I do. My prayers are with you and your family.
  2. I got mine to relax. The fruits are still being a pain in the arse though. Either way, please, do go on about this wet dream of yours. My draconic side is thoroughly enjoying this, and many other random threads lately.
  3. ^ But he is "remarkable" afterall. I didn't need the Sentinel to tell me that though......my imagineer friend, Jim Morrison, Sammy Davis, and a naked indian told me that in a dream years ago.
  4. Okay, I've read through this several times now, and forgive me if I'm off base here, but all this is is a random misguided rant....and as your first post too. For starters, "This needs to change,"yeah, I'm sure your future girlfriends would be delighted to hear this tone. Good luck searching for "Mrs. Perfect" with that attitude.
  5. ^ Pretty sure you missed the sarcasm.
  6. Fenway. Nice pics!
  7. ^ Or with immigration the way it is, perhaps Cinco de Mayo.
  8. Pics of old carousels will always be appreciated by yours truly. Nice report!
  9. Who's the member that thinks these just keep getting tougher and tougher?
  10. Happy Birthday Lou!!!
  11. Awesome pics! This really brought back some memories. I hope you don't mind me adding a couple pics to the thread. It's not often you see a huge container vessel topic that you can actually add something too. It was my job once to offload a 65ft. private yacht from Italy, and transport it for a photo shoot in Ft. Lauderdale. The ship was nowhere near as big as the one you photographed, but the size of these things are pretty intimidating nonetheless. I remember standing on top of the containers while prepping the yacht to be offloaded, and watching those cranes hoist the containers over your head is pretty unnerving! Quite an experience I'll never forget. Thanks again for the pics! EDIT: Just realized the magazine cover shot was of the other one we offloaded. So much for accurate reporting, but you get the idea. The final result of our hard work. Obviously offloading and placing in the water. The yacht, onboard and in the slings.
  12. I don't have near the amount of experiences dealing with ACE committee members as R&E, but I can honestly say that the few times I have encountered them, they have been nothing but pompous a$$es (and that's putting it lightly). I understand that there are many respectable ACE members out there (many of whom are friends), but their governing body leaves a lot to be desired. I'll never forget the time I spoke with a certain chapter's representative at SFOG's Goliath media day (hint hint), and was literally ignored and walked away from midsentence. Honestly, my wife and I were left talking to the air in front of us as he left without even an apology to attend to something insignificant off in the distance. Great representation! Join ACE....we'll ignore you, send outdated newsletters, travel the world on your membership fees, and dream of our own museum. Where do I sign up? Sorry for the rant. I just couldn't help myself after hearing of this story. I haven't laughed that hard in ages! Oh yeah, Troy looks awesome. I nominate this picture as the first to hang in the TPR museum (which would still get built before ACE's).
  13. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/7042010?MSNHPHCP&GT1=10239 This is SHOCKING! The next thing you know, they'll be telling us that NBAers like rap music and strip joints.
  14. I'd only go if Springsteen was playing! As a rule of thumb, not much good ever comes from combining the word Jersey with anything. I hate to say it, but this is one of the handful of times I'd never plan on going to Disney.
  15. Why's that update taking so long? Yeah, I've heard several of you guys say that, and even though I honestly believe the reputable opinions, I'm still so intrigued by it. Of course, I'm still dying go to Nemesis first, but damn, BM just *looks* so good! Glad it wasn't a total bust though.
  16. Jason from Friday the 13th? Jason Alexander? Jason Lee? Jason Bateman?
  17. Although I obviously drool over the thought of Black Mamba, I must admit that EGF has always looked great to me. With that said, I'm also confused as to why a park wouldn't wanna showcase its pride and joy at top form? Eh, maybe someday soon we'll get a new EFG-like Intamin hyper stateside. King's Dominion, anyone? Oh wait, I guess that should be for the rumor (wish) superthread....sorry.
  18. Ian, as always, great pics! Shots of WDW never get old to me, but when they're top quality, that's even better. Thanks for posting 'em.
  19. ^ lol. Did everyone keep an eye on him at night...and close your curtains? Naw, seriously, I agree with everyone else who's stated it already. These candid shots are the biggest sell for any TPR trip. Staged goofiness is one thing, but these shots show just how much fun everyone appeared to have. Awesome job capturing it, man!
  20. Awesome report, you guys!! I loved the Philly stuff. You definitely convinced me that I NEED to check that stuff out sooner than later. Derek, is Hydra really that boring? I don't think I've ever seen anyone so unenthused in an onride pic in my life. That was classic! Rick, just how many smashed pennies do you have now? Inquiring minds wanna know. Damn, and here I was hoping that I'D actually get a postcard this time. lol
  21. This thread is scarier.
  22. Yes, I play. I take the hot summers off, but when I do get out there, I'm a 12 handicap. Mini golf.
  23. Capitalism at it's finest. Hey, as long as there's rich people with low self esteem, overpriced trendy crap will continue to sell. The true cost of materials could probably feed the worker who sewed them together for weeks. That's the sad part here.
