  1. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20739983/?GT1=10357 If this goes well, maybe we should start a petition to get 'em to open Hard Rock Park next year. Who's with me?
  2. ^ I go by what the Golden Tickets say. And they say Uncle Bernie's isn't worthy. End of story.
  3. ^ Yes, but Cypress Gardens and Uncle Bernie's aren't really that great. EDIT: Come to think of it, still miles ahead of King's Island though.
  4. ^^ Kangaroo boxing? You gotta admit, watching a marsupial kick the crap out of a human is pretty freakin' hilarious. So yeah, at least two victories.
  5. Did Michael Vick participate this year? Okay, seriously though, this is sickening. There's a small place in hell for those who senselessly kill animals.
  6. A little birdie with a Nantimi jacket landed on my shoulder today and whispered a little secret. He told me that if someone cracks the code/ reveals the coaster before the official announcement, then the new project magically becomes 1000 times better than Hershey planned...automatically vaulting it to "Mitch's #1 Most Awesomest Golden Ticket No Headbanging, Airtime filled, Perfect Trains/Color/Layout Coaster EVER!" Oh, and it'd be built by oompa loompas over the winter. So keep working on it guys!
  7. ^ Rich, we'll give you Kyle Wright and Kirby Freeman for "Touchdown Jesus." At least then I'd have somebody I could trust under center.
  8. Very cool Johnny, and great pics as always. On a side note, look close.....the dude in the yellow shirt was overpaid. Or perhaps you were underpaid.
  9. This sounds absolutely incredible. I'm actually more thrilled about this than another coaster installation right now.
  10. Okay, I'm gonna revise my statement. I should have said *mostly* useless awards. The more I think about it, if receiving a Golden Ticket makes a park feel good about itself, and further encourages it to maintain its level of "goldenness" (yeah, my English superpowers at work), then at least they accomplish something.
  11. ^ Larry, I'm not sure sleeveless Gator fans are permitted at Joe's....deep in 'Cane Country. I'll think about you when I'm there in November though.
  12. They forgot "Best way to start a 100 page thread about useless awards - Golden Tickets."
  13. Nice report, and great pics of my baby. Those may very likely have been some of the owner's personal collection on display. I know he wrecked an Enzo a few years back, and he's definitely got the coin to afford both that and and F-50. Mmmmm, Ferrari.
  14. Wes, this is a great idea. I'm definitely willing to make a small donation in his honor. My prayers certainly are with his family in this rough time. It's sad to see the king of the random forum gone from us way too early in life.
  15. My favorite thing about this thread is how it's evolved into the general college football thread, yet the title has remained the same hilarious thing.
  16. In celebration of the new college football season, a shot taken at that redneck school in the panhandle.
  17. Very cool. This point was actually suggested by someone at the CoasterMania Q&A. I obviously can't say for sure whether it was the determining factor for them changing the policy, but it was nice to see the panel of executives take it into consideration, and act upon it. Kudos to CF.
  18. Here's something else to consider. I like to call it the Nirvana theory. If there's something you really want to experience, and you have the opportunity to do it (time, money, location, etc.), then by all means DO IT. You never know what lies beyond today, and you may never get the same chance to do something again. If riding a brand new popular coaster at least once is worth an 8 hour wait, and that's important to you, I see nothing wrong with it. At the height of Nirvana's fame I had the opportunity to see 'em in Miami. I passed, thinking "eh, I'll catch 'em next time they're in town." Yeah. Since then, I've learned to capitalize on every opportunity I'm presented with, no matter what it may be. Anyway, just a thought.
  19. Now you're getting the hang of it.
  20. Sorry, I just thought it was time for another recap of the past week's action in here. EDIT: Oh yeah, and the ride has unofficially been renamed "MapleHawk."
  21. And the proverbial "player to be named later."
  22. Very cool stuff, Ian.
  23. That kinda depends on where you're flying into, and where you're staying. The simple answer is yes. It is easy to drive to. There is a good amount of space to expand, however; there is not alot of capital. Not quite sure about "amazing," although it is very fun, and yes, definitely very well maintained.
  24. Okay Mike, I feel compelled to congratulate you since you used the magic word. Congrats!
