  1. I love the very next picture after this quote. And do they really wax down the trains regularly? I'm fascinated by the bullet trains, but had no idea about how often they're cleaned, etc. I assume waxing aides with the wind resistence factor? Anyway, cool pics.
  2. If I'm 180* from my starting position, I consider myself "inverted."
  3. 70+ pages, and still my favorite quote thus far. Scott "Yeah, what's with British folks having a British accent?" B. Hey, it might be funny to you, but for me, that kind of revelation is rather traumatic!! I had no idea I sounded British, and finding out from a stranger on an internet forum... that's just cruel. Awww, Lou, don't worry. I actually like the accent. It's got a classy sophisticated sound to it. And the good thing about having it is that you'll never be mistaken for a dumb, arrogant American.

  5. Just a thought here, but this thread would work a little better if everyone posted a pic of themselves for comparison. I'll try and post mine later if I get around to it.
  6. Cool report, Derek. It's weird though, because I was just sorting through old pics and realized I never posted our Tennessee Aquarium report from last October, and was thinking of finally putting it up. The Baltimore one looks VERY similar to the Chattanooga one. I guess I could still post it if anyone's interested. Mine's cooler cause I actually found Nemo on my visit.
  7. ^ Well, they do have two Os and two Ts to use.
  8. Hmmm. I totally thought he was hot until I started thinking to myself that he might be a dude. Man--I need to get some. Well, I guess you can say that it takes some real cohones to admit on the internet that you were sizing up a dude you thought was a chick. I mean, I think. Maybe the next update will reveal more Ed for him. Where is that update anyway?
  9. Whats The Weather Like Where You Live? Seasonal.
  10. In today's common sense news, running in thunderstorms with eletrical equipment strapped to you is not such a great idea. http://health.msn.com/healthnews/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100166338&GT1=10212
  11. ^ Good question, especially considering car bras do nothing but hurt the paint.
  12. So if the tour was free, would these "ghosts" continue to show up? Either way, nice job on a cool report.
  13. Could you please provide an update for proof of this? I won't believe that any coasters were ridden, or any good times were had, until I see physical evidence. Better yet, make 'em start paying for the site.
  14. If an overpriced Vekoma catalog credit run with rednecks galore, plenty of hot concrete, depressing enclosures for exotic animals, and a CCI that's turned to crap is your kind of thing, by all means, hit it up! Hmm, come to think of it, this place actually makes King's Island look good.
  15. The one I'm currently using is a pic of one of my prized possessions...my opening day ticket to Epcot Center.
  16. Pretty well said. And to those of you who don't *get* why there's so much fuss over the wand issue, let me try and shed some light. If Cedar Point were to announce they were removing TTD, how many threads do you think would emerge? The wand became a lightning rod for criticism not by mistake. Epcot purists all have their own views on why it sucked, and they were ALL right for one reason or another. To put it in perspective, here's how I always viewed the situation. What if you were to put the same type of monstrosity next to the St. Louis Arch? The Washington Monument? Etc. Etc.? Do you need to have a sign proclaiming the destination you've arrived at? Some destinations, and the points of interest which define them, speak for themselves. I doubt anyone from any point in the entire world ever pulled into the Epcot parking lot wondering where they were. And when you look at the entrances for most of the other Disney parks around the world (forgive me, going on memory here), although they usually have a park sign out front, they are generally understated, allowing what lies beyond the entrance gates to do the talking (minus the Hat, for which I don't know enough of the backstory to comment). Stay off the drugs, Matt. Acutally, it very well *could* be. The wand removal perhaps signals the fact that new management, as Matt stated, is possibly "figuring it out". It's early yet, BUT this really is a major step, providing hope to the purists.
  17. Nice pics! After much deliberation, this judge has come to a conclusion. 1st Place. This looks pretty close to original, and downright beautiful. 2nd Place. It's tough to beat these, and this one looks very nice from the pic. 3rd Place. Very nice entry. 4th Place. The color choice was the only thing keeping this from being completely bad arse. 5th Place. Very clean and excellent presentation.
  18. ^ It's Hollywood. Would anyone even notice?
  19. Wow. I'm really anxious to hear your guys' thoughts on Maverick now. The first thing I thought of when I watched the footage was the zero G, the speed it took it at, and the subsequent roughness on the outer seats. Makes me wonder even more about Maverick's missing heartline. Any ballpark idea as to how fast the train is traveling when it reaches the zero G? Plane on a stick........AWESOME! Being enclosed, I'm not quite sure it was Stratosphere material, but very close by the looks of it.
  20. So did anyone else catch the show last night? Going by the questions above, I'd say they did a pretty good job of summing up the most predictable choices. - Nathan's at Coney Island - BGE - Several of Disney's eateries, including the Brown Derby - Knott's - Dollywood - Knoebels For an hour-long show, that sounds about right to me. This was definitely pretty evident (at least to us), since BGE acquired a woodie for the shoot.
  21. ^ I think we still have to determine if the area in question is large. ^^ As far as hoping for a B&M when it's time to talk new coaster again, given the great reviews at SDC, I'd hope for another Power Keg type of ride. Of course, I would *settle* for a beemer. Scott "my sore feet would be happy with just a connecting walkway" B.
  22. Yeah, and Bob even gave 'em a whole thread loaded with more Hoffman chick material than they've seen in almost a year, yet they still whine for more.
  23. Sally dark ride. Rednecks and guns....can't lose proposition for the park. EDIT: And one thing's for certain. This will be the greatest walkway in the history of walkways.
