  1. You're saying they just now went to far? I was under the impression that that occurred years and years ago. But that really is ridiculous. I bet those jeans will last you forever. [/sarcasm]
  2. ^Why are you blaming the scriptwriter? The writing was fine. Not nearly as crappy as in GoF. It's the director's fault that whatever you're thinking of got cut. I'm disappointed that Ron didn't get to fly as well, but it's not as though anything that was cut can't easily be picked up later (although I will be disappointed if I don't get to see him kick McLaggan's a$$ at tryouts in HBP). I want Chris Colombus to come back for Deathly Hallows. IMO, the first two movies would have been pitch perfect if not for the trio's inexperienced acting.
  3. No, I don't mean Amusement Today. I'm talking about Theme Parks Magazine (http://www.themeparksmagazine.com). I subscribed in time to get "Paramount's Carowinds/Silverwood," but I never got "Cedar Point/Lakeside." Curious and disappointing. That looked like a good issue.
  4. Go as early in the season as you possible can if you want the lightest crowds before July. If you want the smallest crowds period, go during the first week of the local public school.
  5. ^Which has the worst writing of any non-gossip magazine in print today. Whatever happened to Amusement Park Magazine (or whatever it was called)? That one that did a huge article about Carowinds a long time ago. That was a really good magazine.
  6. Best book and best movie. I love this story. There were obviously some inconsistancies, but there really wasn't anything that majorly hurt the plot. I agree with everyone, it needed to be about three hours longer, but I also understand that movie studios are trying to cut down on length (though I don't agree). Luna, Tonks, and the thestrals were brilliant. Lupin is still the hugest miscast in history. I really didn't need the sound to momentarily turn off at Sirius' death. How totally predictable is that? I'm going to die if they do that with Dumbledore (I just read that passage again today and started welling up). I loved the way they did the Harry-Cho breakup in the movie. I actually liked that part better than the overcomplicated business with Marietta. Veritaserum is cause for much more akwardness between the two than lack of a forgiveness. Was it just me or did Umbridge definitely NOT look like a toad? Every HP movie so far has suffered from something, and this is no exception. SS/PS and CoS suffered from bad acting. PoA suffered from bad directing. GoF suffered from bad writing. OotP suffered from bad pacing. I really hope DH is a truly fantastic (two-part) movie. 4.5/5
  7. Here I am. The pants are supposed to be khakis. simpsonsme.bmp Woohoo!
  8. My MySpace page is www.facebook.com.
  9. 1.) SFKK if any. 2.) SFOT 3.) SFGAdv 4.) SFOT 5.) SFGAm 6.) SFSL (St. Louis, obviously)
  10. I've ridden Storm Runner and Dragster and Dragster's launch is as intense as it gets. Storm Runner's launch is NOTHING compared to Dragster's.
  11. ^We might be nice to tourists... sometimes... but the kindness really stops there. Chances are that they just wanted to hear your awesome accent. British accents are the weakness of every American. I remain firmly convinced that Urbandale, Iowa has one of the best non-musical 4th of July fireworks shows in existance. They go on and on and on forever. The finale alone is longer than a lot of other fireworks shows. And you are really, really close to the action. They completely fill the sky and you can feel the vibrations. 4th of July 07 055.mpg I know, I'm an idiot for turning the camera sideways. This is the end of the finale. You can hear the cheering at the end. 4th of July 07 054.mpg It's slow at first, but then the finale starts.
  12. Tame?! TAME?! Dragster's launch is ANYTHING but tame. It is WAY stronger than any other hydraulic, LIM, weight drop, or LSM launch in the world (with the possible exception of Ka, of course). I don't know what you're comparing it to that you think it's weak.
  13. There's a fantastically huge chance that the other foot was damaged beyond repair. Remember that both feet hit concrete (or worse) after an enormous fall.
  14. I apologize for the lack of updates. I don't really have an excuse. I had more than enough time. I was just lazy, I guess. Today I bring pictures of one of the highlights of the trip: The Beast walkback tour. We were about two feet from the track at the end of the tour, and the track itself was maybe three feet off the ground. I wish I could have gotten more video, but my camera died. That's also why I don't have any pictures from ERT. I rode Firehawk once, decided it sucked, then spent the rest of the night riding Flight of Fear with the lights on, which was (IMO) more fun than with the lights off. Just a bit of trivia - King Cobra's trains are being store in Flight of Fear. This is all you can really see of Beast from the main path. vacation07ki2-sg-wp 065.mpg This video would have been longer, but, like I said, my camera died. This is one of the coolest shots of the trip. Oh, there they are. Where'd the people go? I swear on my life that this is not zoomed in at all. Great shot. Exit of the second tunnel. Spot the coaster. It really is a beautiful area. ... ... This drop really surprised me my first time. They were running one of the trains empty for a while. No idea why. ... ... ... I wasn't expecting this picture to turn out so well. ... ... ... Beast is always beautiful. Ew... Wonderful picture.
  15. The drop is great fun. With your hands up, it feels like you're going to fall out.
  16. Why is everyone sad about this? The chances of both feet getting reattached successfully was basically zero. This is the best news since the accident.
  17. I still get nervous right before the launch. My first time, I could barely breath. So yes, that part is terrifying your first few times. But the rest of it (after the ultra-intense launch) goes by too fast to think about.
  18. "Ratatouille," incredibly, rivals Toy Story as the best Pixar movie of all time (I almost said "best animated film," but then I remembered Studio Ghibli, lol). It is the best movie of the summer by far. I cannot wait to see it again. I also saw "1408," wich was a lot better than I expected. Very creepy and Stephen King-y BTW, I wouldn't call "License to Wed" a "chick" flick. I would call it a "Robin Williams making an idiot of himself... again" flick.
  19. I'm a themeparkfan now, but when I was younger, I was a hardcore coasterfan. I wouldn't eat, then I would totally max out, throw a temper tantrum to get one more ride, then fall asleep within five minutes of riding in the car.
  20. ^Yes, those things are used for evacuation. The catwalks are too steep and they don't want people to trip. I can't find any pictures, but I know I've seen some.
  21. 1.) Millennium Force, Cedar Point 2.) Maverick, Cedar Point 3.) The Beast, Kings Island 4.) The Voyage, Holiday World 5.) Patriot, Worlds of Fun 6.) Apollo's Chariot, Busch Gardens Europe 7.) Renegade, Valleyfair! 8.) Raging Bull, Six Flags Great America 9.) Mr. Freeze, Six Flags Over Texas 10.) Avalanche, Timber Falls Adventure Park
  22. Is this for any simulator or just No Limits? Side note: TrackPack doesn't work for you either?! I thought I was the only one! Do you have any idea what it could be?
  23. You nailed it. That's exactly what Maverick is like. Best review yet.
  24. I've had those rides. Thank you God for ERT. Wow, they are totally insane. Your head is plastered to the head rest. But the worst part is when it's lining itself up after the final brake run and you just keep spinning and spinning and spinning.
