Melling Park (RCT2)

I've got a large update for you today. Other than the final coaster, the park is FINISHED! IMO, it looks great - my best work to date. I did so much yesterday that I don't even know where to begin. I will probably announce the final ride on Friday. I would announce it tomorrow, but apparently I have to go to Worlds of Fun. If you want the download WITHOUT the last coaster, just ask (some time today) and I'll put it up. Oh yes, and remember how at the beginning I said I wouldn't be making the park from a guest's POV? Well, I will be constructing this last ride with a little more realism. Once again, comments are always wonderful. Overview. Adventure Island. Wrangler Way (part two). Wrangler Way (part one). Wolf Creek. Midway. Wet Zone. Fairgrounds. The park in review: Town Square. The 500 Grill. Come on, it's in Indianapolis. I had to put in something that has to do with racing. Antique Photos. Music starts at 5:30 pm. Fireworks start at 9:30 pm. I love this. There's an outdoor stage that's used for live music. It's also the perfect place to watch fireworks. SKUP (pronounced "Skyoop"). I love how this works. Whirler is the new ride that sits inside Hypno's turnaround. It's way better now. I completely redid it. Recognize this? It's where that hideous Cannonball used to be. -

^Heh, that's one of my favorites. HOMER: Marge, since I'm not talking to Lisa, would you please ask her to pass me the syrup? MARGE: Please pass your father the syrup, Lisa. LISA: Bart, tell Dad I will only pass the syrup if it will not be used on any meat product. BART: You dunkin' your sausages in that syrup, homeboy? HOMER: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning. MARGE: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart. HOMER: Bart, thank your mother for pointing that out. MARGE: Homer, you're not not-talking to me and secondly, I heard what you said. HOMER: Lisa, tell your mother to get off my case. BART: Uh, dad, Lisa's the one you're not talking to. HOMER: Bart, go to your room. -

Seriously, Timber Wolf isn't that bad. I don't know why everyone keeps bashing it, but I've never had an OMG rough ride on it. If you think it's rough now (which it isn't, especially in the back), you should have tried it two years ago. Also, they almost never run both trains on TW, so it's not really that uncommon. I've only personally seen it done one time, and that was at an ACE event. I'm glad you noticed how awesome Patriot's team is. It's not quite as amazing as it was last year, but they're doing pretty well. I honestly don't know why there weren't two trains on Mamba though. They only ever run one when the park is absolutely dead. I think you mean the water jets were the only reason *not* to ride. It's so much better without them. Not only do you not get wet, but you can actually breath a little bit sometimes. -
That's a Rock-O-Plane - pretty much the most insane invention ever. You get a lever in your cage that stops it from swinging. If you do it right you can keep yourself upside-down for a long time. The one at Arnolds Park goes on for about ten minutes sometimes. Crazy stuff. Awesome PTR, though. Lots of great pictures. You're right, La Vibora is way under-rated, and Mr. Freeze is one of the most incredible rides there is.

^I say that because I need feedback. Even something as little as "looks good" helps motivate me to finish. I usually get keep up the patience to finish a park, but when other people want to see more or have a problem with the park that I can fix, I get the drive to work on it more. By the way, I LOVE the MYST series (I think that's what your title is about). -
"Waitress" for the second time. I'm in love with this movie. I just want it to keep going forever. It's so wonderful. I would definitely call it a must-see. 10/10 "I want drugs. I want massive amounts of drugs. I want the maximum legal limit of drugs."

Never mind. I realized that I would be horrible at this. So count me out. -
Microsoft Office Picture Manager can compress and resize all of them at once. It'll probably take a minute or two, though.

Seriously, please comment! I need your feedback! I have a smallish update for you. I did a lot of work yesterday and this is the result. The next step is to completely remodel Cannonball (that ugly Screamin' Swing). It turned out completely wrong because the stations are too short and I switched to Crooked House too early. Because of this, the structure had to be too wide and the colors had to be those of the cars. I'll let the pictures do the talking this time. But you should still comment. Please? Please? Please? And I'll close with my favorite screens. So beautiful. Overview. It's really starting to come together. Spin Cycle. Starbucks. It's alright. Not my best work, but it'll do. Food court across from Wolf Creek Arcade. Picnic Gardens now resides alongside Hypno. -

Or you could download a trainer that doesn't mess up your no entry signs and does about twice as much as SoB, like 8Cars. -

COMMENT! A small update for you this morning. Not much is new. I had a busy weekend. But I can safely tell you that only one more coaster will be added to Melling Park. That's right, I found time to make MP's second-to-last coaster, Hypno. Hypno is a Gerstlauer spinning coaster. Yes, it's a clone, but it isn't an OMFG overused clone. It looks really weird and out of place right now, but it will look a lot better once the area is more complete. I'm going to finish absolutely everything else before I announce the last coaster. The last coaster is what inspired me to make this park. I literally built the park around this coaster. I hope that gets you a little excited. Once again, please comment because I know where you live and I know what you've done. Overview. Oh yeah, I also built an enterprise, which will look really cool when the park is done. Don't bash me for being inaccurate. Gerstlauer spinners are effing hard to recreate. Hypno. McDonalds. It's not the greatest, but it'll do. -

OMG! Two updates in one day?! And another coaster?! Yep. Well, actually, it's just a kiddie coaster, but either way, it's one of Melling Park's final three coasters. This one is called Minicoaster. There's not really anything special about it. Near Minicoaster is a small kiddie area. WCR's plaza is complete and it looks very nice. There is now a Wave Swinger near Wrangler. I've also built a McDonald's, an Arcade, and Club Melling, a gigantic gift shop with two floors that are restricted without a season pass. There's also a rooftop dining area. Oh yes, and the two sides of the park are now connected. Overview. Club Melling. Beautiful. Wave Swinger. ... Every park should have a kiddie coaster. -

Man, I wish I could have ridden Rails. That's one of my biggest regrets. If I had been born just a few months earlier I would have been tall enough. Then they had to go and destroy it. But Mad Mouse was my favorite coaster for a long time after that. Also, the park still has Trabant, they just moved it back across from Looping Starship. They call it Wheel of Fortune now. Back then, Challenge Park wasn't even connected to Valleyfair!. If you wanted to, you could ride RipCord without paying park admission. It's too bad that that isn't the case now, but at least they got Steel Venom out of the deal. -

I'm finally getting some more time to work now that finals are almost over, I have most of the day free, and there aren't quite as many study guides hanging over my head. And Melling Park has a brand new coaster! That's right! I would like to welcome Wolf Creek Run to Melling Parks ever growing family of coasters. Wolf Creek Run is a classic wooden CyCLONE coaster. It's the tallest wooden ride in the park, and it offers spectacular views of Lake Melling and the rest of Melling Park! In other news, the lake has been completed (finally). Wolf Creek Run is so named because there's a small creek that branches off of the lake. WCR is built over this creek. Several new buildings and rides have also appeared. At the front of the park is Capricorn Gifts. Near Wrangler is the parks first chain - a Famous Dave's. Cutlass's area has been updated a lot. First of all, the last ride in the WET ZONE section of the park has been added. It's called Sawdust Twist - its a duo of dark waterslides that (in reality) would twist around each other, but I couldn't make it work well in RCT2. Also in that area is a Ferris wheel and a skycoaster. Near WCR is Sea Rocker, a swinging ship. Also near WCR is one station of Melling Park's other big thing: Lake Melling Tours. This is a boat that takes people on a cruise around Lake Melling. There is a station near WCR, near XLR8R, and near Grand Prix. Finally, I've decided to announce that the park will be getting THREE more coasters. The last one will be by far the biggest in the park. Now enough with the talking! I know you want to see some screenshots! Oh yes, and do be sure to comment! You know how I love feedback! Here you can see how Cutlass's area has evolved. The park as it is right now. Overview of the coaster. As you can see there are multiple crossovers and there is a long section of trick track. Here's what you've been waiting for. This is Wolf Creek Run. I am completely in love with its station. Lake Melling Tours. This thing moves so slow. The wait times are going to be crazy. Famous Dave's The yellow building is Capricorn Gifts. -
Yep. All the rides have only one train. Well technically, Tornado has two, but it hardly ever runs. Don't worry about lines. You usually will never wait more than 15 minutes, and that's on a crowded day. The only thing to watch out for is Sawmill Splash. If the queue extends back into the queue house, it's not worth waiting for.
-
Valleyfair! is not what it's cracked up to be. The only coasters worth waiting for are Steel Venom and Renegade. Excalibur and Corkscrew both suck (you may have noticed that we didn't bother riding them), High Roller is fun, but nothing special, and Wild Thing is forceless beyond all imagination. There are some great flats, like Xtreme Swing and Flying Trapeze, and they have some really good water rides if you feel like getting wet (I bashed it, but Flume is one of the best ones I've ridden, and although we didn't ride it, The Wave is tons of fun). So don't go expecting a thrill park. It's the very definition of a family park. Nothing is too huge or too exciting. It's just a lot of fun (and I LOVE the atmosphere).

PART ONE: Ghetto Fun Fair! So I had to sing at graduation and we were allowed to leave when we were done. My mom couldn't pick me up for another hour, so I was all like "OMGZ! There's a ghetto fair across the street!" So I got out my trusty Visa and splurged on some tickets for my friend and I. I wish I had photos. I really do. Because the tickets they gave us were actually more like credits (a la MOA) and they were on a pass called (I'm cracking up just typing this) the MAGIC PASS. And to top it off, the Magic Pass is rainbow-colored. First ride of the evening was Zipper. You will learn soon enough that everything at this fair is run WAY too fast. I started to get queasy after a few minutes, and not just from the spinning. Part of it was from the positive g's at the bottom of the ride. Next, we rode Fireball, a small frisbee that was also run WAY too fast. I felt like I was in danger of losing my dress shoes (yes, we were still in our performance clothes) several times, but it was super-intense. After that, we rode a high tech little Troika, which was great fun. Then, we walked to the other side of the fair and rode a Ring of Fire without the ceiling (yep, it was considerably painful with OTSRs). and finished off the night with... ZOMGZ! CREDIT!!!!!!! ...a Dragon Wagon at the back of the fair. This credit (#122) was very enjoyable. Not because the ride was interesting. Because my friend got completely freaked out by it. She was honestly screaming her head off like some sort of deranged hamster. It was brilliant. PART TWO: Valleyfair! Next morning, my mom and I drove up to the Twin Cities for Memorial Day. When we reached our destination, I left my mom at the house and went with my cousin to Valleyfair!. First of all, I had to go through guest relations for my Maxx Pass to work. That was a little disappointing. The people at the gate didn't believe that a WoF Maxx Pass could get me in at VF!. Gah. Anyway, we got into the park and walked straight back to Renegade, where we waited for about 30 minutes. And OMG, Renegade is absolutely insane. It is a must ride, IMO. Right now (before having ridden Voyage or El Toro or any of the other greats) it's the best woodie there is, even above Hades. It is certainly the best coaster in the upper midwest. After that, we rode Thunder Canyon, which is okay, but you get a little wet for my taste right at the end. Great views of Renegade, though. Then, we rode High Roller, which is running better this year than last year or the year before that. The trims are still on, but it's a little more minimal now. And of course, we absolutely HAD to ride Flying Trapeze! I'm surprised no one knows about this ride. It is so much fun! It isn't really thrilling, but it's a great family ride with a little twist that gives it a nice, exciting touch. My cousin insisted we ride Wild Thing, so we did, in the back row. It's just as boring as ever. He was very surprised at how dull it was. Then we waited a little while to ride Xtreme Swing. This ride is always worth the wait. Superb ride. Next we rode Steel Venom, which is as good as it usually is. There was a $10/person special at RipCord that we tried to take advantage of, but couldn't when we found out that it was booked for the day. We walked all the way back to Hydroblaster and Flume and rode those. NOT an acceptable amount of wetness! I never completely dried off that day. We had just enough time after that to ride Renegade three more times and to walk back up to Steel Venom one more time before the park closed. I had a great time and I can't wait to get back and ride Renegade again!

Oh, I forgot, they also have a Kidway along with their Midway, and I think they usually have a a Dragon Wagon there if you want to credit whore. I can't think of any dark rides off the top of my head, but I haven't actually been to the MN fair for almost five years.
