Sequels and Prequels - Best and Worst
steel replied to SonOfBeastSucks's topic in Random, Random, Random
BEST: Toy Story 2, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Back to the Future 2, Back to the Future 3 WORST: Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Man's Chest (right down there with Fantastic Four and Final Destination as the one of the worst movies ever made), and pretty much everything else. -
Helen Girardi (Mary Steenburgen) on Joan of Arcadia. That was a truly fantastic show.

Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread

You'll probably hear my saga when I post my TR. It's the worst I've ever seen anyone move at a park. Not only are they idiotic and rude, they are lazier than the day is long. -

No, I'm positive she won't ever return to the park. Heck, I have no plans to ever attend SFKK again if I can help it. That was probably the worst park I've ever been to. The staff is even worse than at Mt. Olympus. -

I don't know. I'm still waiting for a response from Goliath513 or someone else who knows how that works. -

Four items: 1 - I also saw them putting the trains on the transfer track that day. I have a picture. W00t! 2 - The train was stalled at the top of the Rosebowl from early morning until mid-afternoon. 3 - Some time that evening, I saw it stalled on the hill after the second helix. I'm sorry I don't have pictures. 4 - The morning we left KI for Holiday World, I saw SOB crest the lift and make its way into the big drop. Again, I don't have pictures or video. You'll just have to take my word for it. Sorry. -
Kentucky Kingdom (SFKK, KK) Discussion Thread

I regret to say that I was at Kentucky Kingdom on the day of the accident. We stopped there for credits on the way to Holiday World during CoasterCon. Fortunately, we left the park about an hour before the actual occurence, but that doesn't change the fact that I probably saw this young girl walking around the park just hours before her feet were severed. I may even have ridden something with her. Who knows. It really is a gut-wrenching feeling, and I hope that none of you ever need to experience it. My bones still quiver when I remember Will Koch's words: "There was an accident at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom today. A girl lost her feet on their 'Superman: Tower of Power' ride." Unsurprisingly, Giant Drop was closed all day yesterday at SFGAm. I know for I fact that I was not the only attendee of CoasterCon at KK that day. I also know that I rode S:TOP about four hours before the accident. That's what really gets me. I missed it by four small hours. The ride itself was a lot of fun, but (and please do not take this wrong) I am not at all surprised that this happened. One side of the ride was closed prior to the event, the park was ugly and uncared for, and many rides looked badly in need of a good inspection. Superman was among these rides. Once again, I hope none of you ever go through this. It really put a damper on the rest of my week, and I was not even there for the actual accident. -
Quoted for truth.

The craptastic Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P8. It's way too slow and the flash sucks. We're thinking about getting a new camera, though.

Photo TR: Chuck & Larry Ride Pennsylvania Style
steel replied to cfc's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This is probably the best caption ever. Very well done TR. I love Pennsylvania. It's interesting that you didn't get much air on Thunderhawk. I remember a lot of very intense ejector air every time the antirollbacks came in. -

RCT2 - Dorney Park 2006 Recreation

Okay, I'll do that if it means I get to redo the station. -
^^It can be both.

I know there are a lot of hills and I know it would be a lot better, but I simply don't have the time or the patience. It can work without it. It won't be quite as good, but it will work. Sorry to disappoint you... -
^You're going to love it. The best part is all the jealous GP who have no idea what's going on.
-
Yay! I didn't catch it, but I love British version.

^It's not that easy in RCT2. IMO, the windows don't look too horrible. ^^Yes, I know, but I hate how they look. I did end up redoing Talon's finale though, and adding a brake. It works much better now. I did a lot of work this morning. I have most of Hydra done now. This isn't turning out quite as well as I had hoped, but it's not too bad. I think it will come together more when I get closer to being finished. Overview. Hydra. Not a big fan of this station either. White Water Landing. I couldn't figure out how to make a nice-looking roof. ... Cedar Creek Cannonball and Thunder Canyon. Wild Mouse and its UGLY station that I loathe. Talon: The Grip of DEATH. Fixed version. Much better. -

Exactly. It made no sense. Like he said. Just kidding, dude. I respect your opinion. -
That impression would be correct.

TPR Mentioned During Tony's Last Night?
steel replied to KKAddict127's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
YES! I LOVE YOU! I got the Grey Gardens soundtrack not long after seeing the documentary and completely fell in love with the entire play. It's incredibly moving and tragic, but it has a wonderful lighthearted flare. I'm so glad that at least Christine Ebersol (no competition - period) and Mary Louise Wilson won. Spring Awakening's music was very disappointing. I don't really care if it's a "revolutionary" idea. If I want to hear pop music, I'll turn on the radio. Its winning of Best Musical was a blow, but I think it's totally unacceptable that it beat Grey Gardens for Best Score. ---- I noticed this, too (the topic). I thought I had misheard, but apparently not. -
RCT2 - Dorney Park 2006 Recreation
steel replied to steel's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Yeah, I thought about that, but if I make the helix lower, I have to make the wingover lower, and it already goes through that way too fast.
