  1. Chang will surprise you. It's way smoother than any of the other standups I've been on (that includes Mantis). Mantis is overforceful, uncomfortable and rough, where Chang is just forceful enough, fairly comfortable (for a standup), and smooth. That's not to say that it's anything special in comparison to any of the really good rides in the world. But among standups, Chang is queen.
  2. RCT3 lags like hell and it's so annoying to work with. If you're REALLY patient and you know exactly what you're doing, it looks nice, but otherwise, it's completely not worth the effort, IMO.
  3. The best thing the park could do right now is clean up. All the huge coasters can wait. Slap some fresh, bright paint everywhere, remodel some of the buildings (Omg, Chang's station needs so much love), and add a bunch of shade to the front half of the park. If the park closed down for a year and got totally overhauled, I would happy. After all that, take out Twisted Twins (such a dull ride - Roller Skater was more interesting) and add something of worth. That's a lot of land to work with (see red area). I agree that it would be a good idea to turn their wild mouse into a Dark Night, but they should move it to T2's current location (which, of course, would mean the removal of T2 ). There really isn't enough room for all the theming they're doing with the others in its current location (see the blue areas). Twisted Twins takes up a LOT of room. Dark Night in T2's location?
  4. Bulldozer... I loved Thunder Run. I thought it was the only good ride there (Chang and Lightnin' were fairly meh).
  5. That would suck so much. I wouldn't even know what to do.
  6. Actually, if you are really patient, what you can do is build one single-tile path for the peeps, then build walls on both sides and widen it as much as you want. It takes forever, but it looks okay and the peeps definitely won't get stuck.
  7. Yeah, that's a stupid glitch. I don't know of any way around it.
  8. HUGE congratulations! You are a true idol among coaster enthusiasts and movie nerds alike!
  9. I bet it's actually because "La Vie en Rose" is quite a bit easier for an native English-speaker to pronounce. But whatever. On-topic now.
  10. ^Are you sure? The movie I saw was definitely called "La Vie en Rose" and it definately had Marion Cotillard in it and she was definately Oscar-worthy. She will win, regardless of the movie. And she does deserve to win. Even though Ellen Page was fantastic.
  11. Are you effing serious? She's a member here? Diablo Cody was married to my mom's cousin. I am having the strangest day of all time.
  12. http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=665045&category=&BCCode=&newsdate=2/21/2008 More information, including school pictures of the deceased.
  13. That's exactly why I wanted to ask about the quality of Guest Relations (or even the quality of the staff in general).
  14. I don't know how widespread this story is, but this is absolutely tragic. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,331335,00.html We got an email from some very good friends of ours today saying that a member of their family (Emilee Olson) was one of the students who was killed. So, if it's your faith, please pray for the people of Cottonwood, MN. They need all the support they can get right now. My understanding of it is that the van ran right through a stop sign and hit the bus at a ridiculous speed. The bus hit a pickup and tipped over.
  15. Do you have any plans to improve Guest Relations? I think someone has said this, but I'd like to repeat it: Do you have a plan to improve the quality of smaller parks in the chain, such as Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and Six Flags America? Is there a plan for Six Flags New Orleans? Is it likely that the park will reopen? I'd also like to second Wes' question about clones.
  16. Timber Wolf should be continuing its rehab.
  17. Honestly. This is the dumbest thing to be upset about. SFGAm's sign is exactly the same. It's really not a big deal.
  18. Ah, you missed out on RWB. Poor thing never had a chance.
  19. Confirmed: Nick Universe Adventureland Worlds of Fun Valleyfair! Quite possible: Arnolds Park Six Flags St. Louis Celebration City Silver Dollar City Six Flags Great America Possible: Six Flags Magic Mountain Elitch Gardens Disneyland California Adventure Knott's Berry Farm Hopeful: Cedar Point Massively slim chance Dollywood
  20. A couple of people have said this, but it is a really good idea. My parents used to do it all the time. Pack a lunch (and dinner if you need it) before leaving, leave it in the car, then get your hand stamped and go back out when it's time to eat. I have great memories of eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches under Wild Thing (this was before Steel Venom, so that area was all grass). If you can find a place like that, don't hesitate. Bring your own bottle, of course. Warmer water treats dehydration better than ice water, anyway. If you absolutely must cool down, don't spend money on a water bottle or on ice cream. Take a bandana and drench it. You'll look like an idiot, but you won't get heat stroke. Either way, I think it's illegal in a lot of places to not offer water if it's asked for and avaliable now. Don't play games, obviously. They're not worth it. Except SkeeBall. Invest in AAA and use coupons. The most recent Des Moines Entertainment book has coupons for Cedar Fair and for Busch. Don't forget to check things like those. Really, no matter what, it's going to be expensive. But it is possible to cut down the cost quite a bit.
  21. Follow-up question: I just got a new computer, which does not have No Limits right now. I know the chances of anyone being able to help much on this are slim, but should I get the new NL1 update now or wait for NL2 to come out?
