  1. Perfect! First weekend of Spring Break!
  2. Looks like there's a figure of Aang on the vehicle. It's hard to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised. Look at KI's Avatar.
  3. While I really didn't have any qualms with Flight Deck, this is an improvement. Glad to hear that CF reps do pay attention to us.
  4. It will continue to operate with their old point system (each ride is assigned a point value, tickets are sold with certain numbers of points - or you can get an unlimited ride wristband). Nothing new or exciting. The thing that's really great about MOA is that they have absolutely no reason to ever get rid of Ripsaw (unless it collapsed or something, I guess). It would provide maybe enough room for a bumper cars. I guess they might be able to fit a flat ride where SYR is now...
  5. Fantastisch! Ich möchte zu Phantasialand einmal gehen. Es sieht wie viel Spaß aus. *hope the grammar is about right*
  6. For me it's the other way around. I poke fun at Cedar Fair because of the lame things they do: their general lack of creativity, non-existent theming, brake raped and generally mediocre rides, overpriced bad food, sterile park environments, and overall lack of attention to detail. And a bad name yes isn't a problem in itself. However, Disney rules the theme park game in no small part because of their incredible attention to the little things. Cedar Fair could learn a lot from them. See, I completely disagree. They just came up with both Renegade and Maverick. Four of my top five coasters are at Cedar Fair parks. Theming shouldn't matter if the ride itself is good. Worlds of Fun has really delicious sandwiches priced fairly (compared to $25 for second-rate pizza at Six Flags). IMO, Cedar Fair parks have wonderful atmospheres. They feel like amusement parks, not like parking lots (if you want sterile, go to Kentucky Kingdom). You're right, they're not the absolute best, but they don't deserve all the hatred they get. 98% of it truly is pointless whining. You must admit that. I feel similarly about Six Flags (to a lessr degree) and most other parks that get beaten unfairly. What I don't understand is why so many enthusiasts can't just enjoy it. They have to nitpick, and if something isn't exactly how it is at Disney or Busch or (especially) Holiday World, it isn't worth squat. That, I suppose, is the root of my problem here.
  7. Hey, better Nickelodeon than Disney. But then we could retheme Ghost Blasters to Hannah Montana. Now that would be terrifying. And fantastic. Where else could you shoot Miley Cyrus and get away with it? Maybe that's not such a bad idea after all... Really, though, I pretty much agree with astroworldfan1. It's not that I don't like Nick theming, it's that Snoopy is WAY better.
  8. [rant] Whining would be quite a bit more apt a word here. Honestly, they are not the best names, but please, do not make a fool of yourself and call these the worst names ever. They may be a little bland, but come on. Look at the competition. Orange Streak at MOA, Wild & Wooly Toboggan at Little Amerricka, The Boss at SFSL, even Son of Beast right there. I said they were a little bland, but really, a lot of names are. The Voyage, Demon, Iron Wolf, Ripsaw. I could go on and on. Maybe a step higher or so than these, but still. I'm sure many of you only actually hate these names because this topic is not only about Kings Island, but also about Cedar Fair. And since those two are in question, apparently every other comment needs to be harsh criticism about the most minor things. [/rant]
  9. Okay, since not many people seem to agree with me, here's why it's a smart addition: You've all come to expect HUGE thrills from this park. Real parks don't get hypercoasters and intense launches every other year. This is a really smart move. Especially in Hawaii, nothing like that would ever happen. This coaster marks a step closer to reality. That and it appeals to more people than just coaster enthusiasts and teenage thrill-seekers.
  10. It was created by Knott's Berry Farm as the centerpiece of the brand new Mall of America in 1992, I believe.
  11. I think this is a very smart addition.
  12. Where would they trim it? The only straight track is either traveled over too slowly to begin with or too close to the ground.
  13. I agree. Last time I said that I got attacked for complaining. It's not like the park itself won't be good, it's just that nothing looks right anymore.
  14. Good you're doing Valleyfair!, but don't forget Como Town. There's a kiddie credit there and one of the most enjoyable drop towers in existence.
  15. I like the triangular track. I think it makes it look even more twisted and compact.
  16. WOW! That drop looks incredible! SO excited for this to open now!
  17. That's the rumor, but Cedar Fair will more than likely turn to GCI. They spoke of continuing that trend at Mania now that Renegade has proven so successful. Plus, KGA is getting that GCI, so I would not be surprised at all. But, you're right. Either of these would fit.
  18. That's how I remember Camp Snoopy. My prime years there were before Timberland Twister.
  19. God, coasterdude5, why do you keep stealing my ideas? First that Gibaldi park that was pretty much the same as my incomplete Glen Oaks Park, and now this, which will make my upcoming RCT2 Fiesta Mexico look like a cheap ripoff. All in good fun, of course. Great minds think alike.
  20. I love how Fireball is basically a shortened, mirrored version of Timbers without the helix. No hard feelings. Timbers is fantastic. Hornet looks amazing, though. I want Hornet in my back yard, or at least within walking distance.
  21. Good to know that I'm not alone, but that doesn't ameliorate the issue. Even mention that this all seems like whining around an enthusiast and you get labeled a fanboy. Yes, I do love Cedar Fair parks. I don't think there's anything wrong with them that's worth complaining about. And yes, I prefer Cedar Fair over Six Flags, but that doesn't make me a fanboy. I've had some really crappy experiences at Six Flags Parks (namely Kentucky Kingdom). And, in fact, none of them have been as mundane or insignificant as colors that are a little to familiar or an excess of trash cans. I like and dislike parks based on the parks themselves and on the experiences I have there. Not on minute little details that no-one notices but anal coaster enthusiasts who need to find something to complain about in order to feel satisfied with their visit. Why can't anyone just enjoy themselves anymore? I fail to see how its colors will have any lasting effect on the overall success of this ride. When someone explains that to me, I will most certainly step down. Until then, however, I will continue to actively protest stupidity.
