I can see why. I stayed up here today hoping to ride more. It is brutal outside and not letting up. I don't even what to go outside for some lunch. The weather site I use says 1.62" of rain has fallen since midnight with more to come. I guess I should've gone to Knotts. I would've never thought that would be a correct statement.

FYI, they're riding Xcelerator right now. Buena Park is 55 miles from Valencia and over two valleys. The weather can be different. If you're at home "Ms. Tums" you know what I'm talking about with the weather. The weather site I use here in Valencia says 1.59" of rain since midnight and 45 degrees. The gusts are up to 27mph. The mountain never opened today as per their website. -

I don't really think Xcelerator will be running at all today. I'm very near Magic Mountain and it's very windy (wind chill of 38), and constant rain this morning so far. It's rained nearly 1" since this midnight, and for here that MAJOR! I'm really surprised the mountain hasn't posted that they are closed on facebook yet. The forecast is to get worse as the day goes on. I can't believe it's much better in Buena Park... -
It's typical for Knotts on weekdays to open most of the park at 11. Normally, Ghostrider and Silver Bullet are the few that are open at 10. A fast SMOOTH ride on Ghostrider??? What kind of meds were you on? I was there on Thursday and it was typically rough. I'm glad you enjoyed. Silver Bullet train 2 is down for maintenance. You can see it from the loading platform. Nice pictures. My personal fav there is Xclerator.

Some type of filming is going on this morning at Knotts. I went to the nearby McDonalds and noticed a crane with movie lights pointed towards Ghostrider on the east side of Beach. The train was running at 8:15 with people on it already abusing their bodies on this ride. It seems like something is always happening here in So Cal...

On the same note, was this Bonnie Rabjohn's first public appearance? I'm very unimpressed with Bonnie. She is just the polar opposite of Jay IMO. She didn't mingle with the crowd of us "coaster freaks." Did anyone notice she wasn't wearing an name tag??? I guess she's special... On a high note, the event was great today. Got a total of 10 rides right up until closing at 2pm. Good free pizza and salad.

Well I was by the mountain again today. The crane was back at X2 with a guy in a bucket grinding and welding the bottom of the saddleback before the first vertical drop. This was about 1:30. I didn't see any Superman launches while I was there for about 25 minutes. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow. They had great weather to fix and test it!

I'm not sure if Superman is running yet, but today I saw a sign in the sky! I hope it's good news. There were 5 sky - writing planes in the sky creating messages around noon. I was hiking at Pico canyon (Mentryville), so I couldn't completely read the message. They wrote is at least twice. It definitely said "Ride Superman" and there were more words I couldn't make out because of the mountains and winds blowing the smoke. We'll see tomorrow on Media day...

I was at the Mountain again today all day, and I'm sad to report Superman did NOT run at all. They only tried the left side. They were able to launch successfully empty cars, (I heard it launch at least 8 times but not consistently) so that'll do us a lot of good. I heard from the rid-ops that when you add people, it wouldn't launch. That makes no sense to be because the human weight total is minor compared to the weight of the trains. Maybe there were too many fatties trying to ride today. The mechanics were working near one of the huts at 6:30 tonight. They've got their work cut out for themselves to get this running before the G.P. hit's it Saturday. Maybe they're praying for the forcasted rain.

I agree and disagree. *GOOD* theming absolutely CAN make a "meh" coaster much better. I personally think that X2 is a better experience than X because of some elements they added. Sure, you can't hear the music after the lift hill, but I think the audio in the station and on the lift, combined with the fire effects actually DOES improve the ride. Terminator, IMO, other than the tunnels with the red lights and mist, the rest of theming was wasted money. I don't think the fire adds anything to that ride, it's clear that the audio didn't work out, and the pre-show really needs to either go away, or not force people to watch it. But take a coaster like Revolution at Bobbejaanland (similar to ex-Chaos at Opryland), that ride would be nothing if it wasn't for the excellent themeing! Ever been on Express (Superman) at Walibi World? That ride just shows how much more the theming of Rock N Roller Coaster adds to the exact same layout of a coaster. Come on Robb didn't you like the custom "Termie" soundtrack at last years WCB??? Now that's good use of a thematic element.
