  1. I'm amazed "the Mountain" has been open everyday this week (for the first time this season), and there's been only 1 post here on this forum. I guess everyone is on their best behavior I'll be back this weekend (& next) riding (I hope) like crazy... Does anyone know when Deja Vu is reopening??? Their website just says it's temporarily closed.
  2. I think those are old burger patties from Geauga Lake Ummmmmm..
  3. Ah the beginnings of "Breaking Wind" = their non-coaster for 2011.
  4. I read this entire thread. Magic Mountain is my favorite park anywhere. I travel all over the U.S. for my job, so I see many different parks and rides. Agreed, I've noticed the ride-op's attitudes going down hill since the departure of their old VP Jay Thomas. He was an outgoing person that you always saw at the park smiling and talking to his guests. That attitude radiates from the top down. Since his departure, I do see a marked difference in employee attitudes towards customers and the cleanliness of the park. That being said it's got a great compliment of rides and soon to have more rides than any other park. I was at the park on Sunday 3/13 too. I got in at opening 10:30 and stayed until close 6pm and got 31 quality rides that day! One other thing, this year the park has posted signs telling you of the 1 train operation because of maintenance. It's right at the entry of the rides with only 1 train. As others have said quit bring all that crap to the park when you ride. I bring nothing that doesn't fit in my pant /shorts cargo pockets. Every park has it's challenges, but for me I like the Mountain....
  5. Yes, those are the Intamin trains for Green Lantern along side "Pocky." You also saw a lot of the ride's track stored there too. Don't forget "Buttman" and Superman face down in the sand out there.
  6. I'll need to hit SFOG this season. I haven't been there in 3 years. It used to be my home 6 Flags park. Now it's Magic Mountain. Looks like a great ride. I'll be there....
  7. I just looked at your video again and the train launch almost looked like a rollback. It cleared the top very slowly. I've never seen or experienced a rollback on either Xcelerator or Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. I'd give anything to experience that...
  8. I'll bet!!! My background is engineering, so I would've love the sights and explanations. I wish I came. I stayed in Santa Clarita (near Magic Mountain) and cursed the rain all day. I was hoping for more rides there.
  9. Great video! I'm very jealous.. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Thanks Robb! This price is more reasonable, so I'll be there. I've never been to this park before, so I'll be a virgin on all the rides. Count me in there sport, and I'll see you there.
  11. I do not enjoy the rain at all, but the tour of Xcelerator sounded amazing! I would've given anything to see the "innards." I wonder if it wasn't raining if you would've gotten such a complete tour like you did???
  12. Here Kitty Kitty... I wonder if that one will be chasing the trains someday???
  13. I rode Chang in Kentucky and loved it. By far it was the best ride there. I personally don't like Mantis, it's too compact and has a lot of "ear boxing." I can't wait for this Green Lantern. I don't think I'll be a fan of Green Lantern at Magic Mountain.
  14. I can see why. I stayed up here today hoping to ride more. It is brutal outside and not letting up. I don't even what to go outside for some lunch. The weather site I use says 1.62" of rain has fallen since midnight with more to come. I guess I should've gone to Knotts. I would've never thought that would be a correct statement.
  15. FYI, they're riding Xcelerator right now. Buena Park is 55 miles from Valencia and over two valleys. The weather can be different. If you're at home "Ms. Tums" you know what I'm talking about with the weather. The weather site I use here in Valencia says 1.59" of rain since midnight and 45 degrees. The gusts are up to 27mph. The mountain never opened today as per their website.
  16. FYI, they're riding Xcelerator right now. Buena Park is 55 miles from Valencia and over two valleys. The weather can be different. I'm glad people are getting a chance to ride at the Knotts portion of WCB. I guess I goofed staying up here...
  17. I don't really think Xcelerator will be running at all today. I'm very near Magic Mountain and it's very windy (wind chill of 38), and constant rain this morning so far. It's rained nearly 1" since this midnight, and for here that MAJOR! I'm really surprised the mountain hasn't posted that they are closed on facebook yet. The forecast is to get worse as the day goes on. I can't believe it's much better in Buena Park...
  18. It's typical for Knotts on weekdays to open most of the park at 11. Normally, Ghostrider and Silver Bullet are the few that are open at 10. A fast SMOOTH ride on Ghostrider??? What kind of meds were you on? I was there on Thursday and it was typically rough. I'm glad you enjoyed. Silver Bullet train 2 is down for maintenance. You can see it from the loading platform. Nice pictures. My personal fav there is Xclerator.
  19. It'll still be "quite nippley" tomorrow - Saturday morning for ERT...
  20. WCB, (Sat & Sun) all I can say is burr and possibly wet. Good luck..
  21. Some type of filming is going on this morning at Knotts. I went to the nearby McDonalds and noticed a crane with movie lights pointed towards Ghostrider on the east side of Beach. The train was running at 8:15 with people on it already abusing their bodies on this ride. It seems like something is always happening here in So Cal...
  22. One last thing I noticed today leaving the Mountain after the media day event. The crane with grinder and welder were at Goliath on the lift hill. They've moved off of X2. I guess they're putting finishing touches on all the rides in preparation for the season to begin.
  23. You do a great job there buddy. It's too bad Bonnie couldn't recognize TPR. Again another point that doesn't impress me about her.
  24. Hey Robb how come ACE was recognized but not TPR??? You and Alyssa were right near the podium. That's too bad, you guys do a lot for us members. IMO a lot more than ACE.
  25. On the same note, was this Bonnie Rabjohn's first public appearance? I'm very unimpressed with Bonnie. She is just the polar opposite of Jay IMO. She didn't mingle with the crowd of us "coaster freaks." Did anyone notice she wasn't wearing an name tag??? I guess she's special... On a high note, the event was great today. Got a total of 10 rides right up until closing at 2pm. Good free pizza and salad.
