  1. Shane this looks amazing. Agreed on the lights, they're awesome! I'll have to arrange a visit out west to come and check it out some time
  2. Goofy in the pool?!? That's awesome! Damn you for getting the last Disney park credit before me Great TR man
  3. I think you'll find the steering wheel is on the right side of the car... quite literally!! Great report, I live in the south of England and probably haven't got half the credits in this region that you have!!
  4. Nice! Dive machines can be themed quite nicely so it'll be interesting to see what Efteling do with it. Given the attention to detail a lot of their other rides have I imagine this will be something special!
  5. This is the part that is totally mindblowing to me. This is essentially going to be an expensive up charge attraction for the parks, and I'm guessing one of the most successful ones ever. It is mind blowing to me the ways that USF is figuring out how to print massive amounts of money, and this seems like another great step forward for them. With the innovation that they are doing, I would not be surprised to see them as the main destination in Florida. That's crazy. I can't wait to hear details! I wouldn't say it's an up charge. I would say that the execs certainly knew what they were doing when they put potter property in both parks though If you want to experience all of the resort (as most guests do currently) you go to both parks, all they're doing is spreading a very popular property over both parks, they're not charging any "more" for it since park hopping tickets have been sold for years and many people buy them (myself included last October) because they want to get to both parks.
  6. Robin, in the nicest possible way only you could have thought of this thread I'm not sure if my suggestion counts but on the Scandi trip a few of us saw some lesbians making out in the entrance to a disused ride, a quick search on the park index turned up Vikingtoktet at TusenFryd! More an entrance than a ride (and one that has since closed) but the image of Scandinavian lesbians will never leave my mind...
  7. I'm liking the look of this! From what I'd seen/heard I didn't think Ferrari world had done particularly well financially but if they're licensing again I guess something must have gone all right! This puts another visit to Spain in the crosshairs come 2016/2017!
  8. My inner tech theatre geek wants to know how they're doing the "run through a wall" bit within the confines of a system that has to have a large capacity etc. I assume they're going to have to use 4k screens or similar for the train windows to maintain the realism? I would have thought they're going for the same effect as the artwork on the new Disney ship (can't remember which is which, dream? Magic? Wonder? Fantasy??)
  9. Awesome pics Shane, it's great to see this coming together from the sky!
  10. I think the obvious conclusion is "It's made fast pass more accessible for more guests" and that's ultimately a good thing for the vast majority of guests.
  11. Nice! Looks like all the detective work paid off! I couldn't believe how quickly you strung together the last few clues
  12. The more rules you make the more you'll get tied up in knots and exceptions. Half the caveats we have now we wouldn't have needed 15 years ago because the industry is evolving and we are constantly blurring the lines more and more (RMC = wood or steel etc.) I just look at a ride and think "would I consider this to be a coaster?" A Disko is obviously not a coaster but a boomerang is (be it a crap one). Common sense has to prevail!
  13. Nothing so far is pointing to a rider being ejected from a car. Obviously it's too early to tell but it could be someone falling off while walking over the station tracks or something. It wouldn't be the first time on this type of ride
  14. I think the "how much damage will *blank* cause if it falls out your pocket in the ride?", if it were done "Mythbusters Style" you'd get a good PSA and some awesome shots of cell phones doing some damage at the same time! The stuck in the loop one is cool too, might scare some people though...
  15. I remember some of the scandinavian parks had some good smoking areas. Fully enclosed in trees off to the side of the midway so people could smoke but it wouldn't lead to other guests passive smoking. One of the hotels even had an "indoor smoking station", kinda like one of the fume cabinets we had in chemistry at school but you could fit a few people in them!
  16. Pretty much The ride looks like it's gong to be kick ass, some people will call it a wood coater and some people won't. I wish them all the best in their decision making while I'm enjoying myself riding!
  17. You can buy them direct, you just have to ask at the window. As I understand it they're removed the option from the website as so few people used it and they want to keep the process simple and streamlined for the vast majority of guests.
  18. Finally got round to watching Frozen, it's a little bit good! Soundtrack will definitely be playing for a couple of weeks!
  19. I don't get the apparent hysteria that the locals have over this. It's a nice ride and some of the animatronics are absolutely awesome, but I just don't "get" the flashlights. I don't find it as engaging as a shooting ride and there isn't as much to look at as a dark ride that just takes you through a series of scenes (comparing anything to Pooh is never going to go well, but there's a lot more to look at from the honey pots!). If anything I'm happy that the ride is so damn popular, it keeps more people away from other amazing attractions at the park!
  20. Great to see progress continuing! I can't wait to see the slides go vertical
  21. ^ Football world cup Joey. Or really just the World Cup since all civilised nations know what sport it denotes
  22. Nostalgia has already kicked in! Great pictures there, looks like you had a good last day
  23. ^ Yeah they're self operated. Good fun! Some great expressions there, thanks for sharing!
  24. Hmmm, Interesting. It seems a little off the beaten track for Knoebels but I'm sure it'll be a great addition for them!
