  1. I apologize if this sort of thread has been made before, I ran a search and couldn't find one. Anyhow, what movie or TV show would you like to see turned into an amusmenet park ride, and what sort of ride? Personally I'd love to see 2012 get turned into a ride. That oughta be a crazy ride fit for any high budget studio park.
  2. Hmmm. I was always one of hte people who downplayed this ride... For the mostpart it seems I was right, but it does look like a LOT of fun and I Would love to ride it. That vertical drop isn't as tall as I would of hoped, and that last bit felt like it has a bit of a large build up for nothing, but putting those tgings aside it still looks like a kickass ride, and those curves through the woods emind me a bit of Voyage's turnarounds ection.
  3. Wow! Looks incredible!!! I would love to see some close ups and explanations about it.
  4. Wow! That's really cool! Free access to Farup Sommerland, First ride of the day at Schlitterbahn,! VIP wristband at Liesberg, and this is jsut a tiny part of the list?! You guys are amazing.
  5. Well, I wasn't depressed per se', but it's nicknamed "Singles awareness day" for a reason
  6. Oy Vey. The insensitive meaning of "Zyklon" rides never even crossed my mind untill I read your post. Well, you learn something new every day!
  7. That really is amazing! I love your works. But it's very hard to tell apart all the details though. You should ocnsider coloring it.
  8. Guess you could say I haven't found anyone that I'm attracted to yet.
  9. I learned that Rembrandt was a baroque painter when dutch churches weren't allowed to have any sort of decorations, and therefore they often had no art in them, which left most of the art of that era in the hand's of agnostic p--- *Cough* Yeah... In other words, I'm studying for a big art history exam so for the past two weks the main things that I leanred each day involved the renneisance in some shape or form.
  10. UPDATE 3 ------------------------------- Insanity's helix goes over a small, tucked away Plaza where you can find a small merry-go-round, a slide tower, and a snack bar. It's a nice place to relax in. You can see pretty much everything from Detonator. Granted, you'll ahve to ride it several time to sit at every angle in order TO see it, but nevertheless. Yeti takes command of the skyline. LOL! The thing with Emproium Rides is that they always balance that movie feel, without hiding the fact that this is an amsuement park, and there is going to be a big scary drop at the end of the ride. (Although not that big comapred to other, lower budget boat rides, ironically.) The park transformed this plaza into a kiddie playground and it is one of the most crowded areas in the park. There are some family rides placed around the plaza, a playground in the middle, and a place to get some food and ice cream, so needless to say this place is always filled with kids running aorund and tired parents cooling off at the snack bar. But no doubt the crowd favorite at the plaza is... ...The giant slide!!! It's right next to the playground ,and even on relatively empty days there are tons of kids crawling all over it. The ride offers insane amounts of airtime in any seat. The view from the exit, next to the onride photo booth. The entrance to the rapids ride is a lovely bridge that goes over part of the ride. The whole area is really nicely landscaped. And right next to it is anohter monorail station. This one's less fancy than the one on the old midway. Yeti towers in a way that makes sure you see it no matter where you are in the park. Random view of Insanity. Emporium Studios is a very family friendly park, and offers alot of family and kiddie rides. Atlantis: 2015 - The Ride cresting the big hill. In case you've been living under a rock, Atlantis: 2015 is the newest in Emporium Studios' "Rides with budgets that could feed a small country" department, based on the movie. It's a fantastic ride. Wheee...! SKLOOSH! The station is themed to the refugee camp from the movie, it's pretty cool. I won't give EVERYTHING away, but it starts out with you sailing through the city streets.
  11. Oy... Had the "Why don't I have a girlfriend yet conversation" with my mom again last night... Those are always loads of fun... Should be another two-three months untill my next refill
  12. Still. This way the pieces can be made completely flat, and pieced together. Curving it simply or aesthetic reasons would complicate it, make it more expensive, and make no sense whatsoever. Not to mention a straight arch is a more structurally sound shape than a curved one. Not that I know if that really has anything to do with it. Anyhow, where is that Aqualoop built? That's not the one in Germany, I can tell by the slide tower. Is there already a new aqualoop up somewhere?
  13. ^Sunday isn't part of the weekend in Judaism. Sunday's the beginning of the week. And Bat Yam... Eh... Let's just say that if Tel Aviv is New York, Bat Yam is Newark. EDIT - I just noticed it replaced the words l*ocker r0om with "Fluffy fluffy goo filled medicine whatever", as well as replacing "X-D" with that annoying boys in tights line... More filter fun?
  14. You... WALKED? From Tel Aviv to the Superland?! You do realize that there is an entire CITY between Tel Aviv and the Superland, which you crossed, right? The city of Rishon Letzion. I'm a huge fan of long walks but I must admit... that is beyond my limit. Very interesting seeing all of this from someone else's perspective. Also interesting seeing Superland in that sort of dark, gloomy weather. This sort of weather can be pretty rare here, especially when visitng a park. Usually I don't even go to a park if it might rain because if it rains for too long they shut down mroe than just the rides. What does the "phoneme" caption on the entrance sign mean? Also, if you knew that parks here are only open on Saturdays and holidays, why did you go to Luna Park Tel Aviv on a sunday? Or is that how you found out? Also, that wall painitng is by a famous Israel wall painter called Rami Meiri. His drawings are a part of Tel Aviv culture. That beach is called "Metsisim beach", translated it means "peeking beach". And I'm fairly certian they're peeking iinto the women's locker room, but I guess it's open for interpertation Oh, and I got confused, Sky hsotel is not the one right next to my house, Momo's hostel is(which is in the same building as the AM-PM). I would actually have to cross a street to get to Sky Hostel! You guys should let me know next time you're here!
  15. ^Hey, man! Congrats! That's great!
  16. Wow... So you didnt even stay across the street! The hostel is in the building next to mine!!! How cool is that? Shame I didn't know, woulda said hi or something! And jeez! only 100 euros?! That's cheap!!! I might end up going on another vacation in London again sooner than I thought!
  17. Hey! Welcome to Israel! It's not every day that I see my town on a PTR. Especially when it's not by me You guys were staying right by my house! That's not an expression, you seriously have to cross only a crosswalk or two to get from my house to where you guys were staying. I hope you enjoyed your stay here! What made youd ecide to visit Tel Aviv of all places?
  18. I am sad to say that a month and a half after I sent in the suggestions, as well as the suggestions for the Meteor slide towers, and haven't recieved any sort of opinion or reply (in fact, it was only when I called after two weeks that they even mentioned they got the email), I went to the park while I was already in the neighbourhood to check out Luna Park's new coaster(which is pretty much across the street from Meimadyon), to see what was going on. I should once again point out: This was hours of work I did just for my love of thrill rides in the middle of a busy semester, for no pay or anything. When they wanted me to change something in the render they answered within 24 hours. But after I finished I was ignored for a month and a half. I saw the park manager who requested these simulations from me walking around the park, as usual. I greeted him, and (POLITELY!) asked how come I haven't recieved a reply about what he thinks about the renders, to which he started SCREAMING at me out of nowhere that he doesn't owe me anything and that I have alot of nerve asking him. The way he was screaming his head off at me you would think that I killed his dog or something, and in a way that no representative of any park anywhere should treat ANY guests, even if they are in the wrong(and I don't believe I was), and he stormed off without letting me say a word. Sadly this is just another example of the horrible service problem that Israeli parks suffer from. I mean, I'm not crazy, right? That was a completely extreme reaction. Either way, I left feeling like crap and I don't plan on ever visitng that park again.
  19. The romantic in me is feeling very sick after reading the last page or so...
  20. At the risk of making a short, pointless post: WIN.
  21. The first one... Well, if I were there the day they decided to open it and aske dme to be first to ride it, then heck no. But if I saw it run a couple of times beforehand and saw nothing happens then sure, I'd ride it! As for the outer space flying car... HOLY COW! I have never seena nything like that (Except, well, a toboggan). That's gotta be extremely painful, but I probably would still be excited and first in line to ride. (Or, well, second. Just in case, y'know?)
  22. I worked alot more on the park since the first update. Can't show everything I've done in detail just yet, but enjoy! I'm not sure why, but these three look kinda familiar... Despite the fact it's only a minute or two long, it is one of the park's most expensive rides. A sneak preview at what goes on inside those two big buildings it occupies. Heading back on over to the Time Machine. Looooooom. The first drop to RMA has a funny shape, but you get good airtime no matter where you're sitting! Sometimes it even makes your car swing while you drop, which is quite scary! The claustrophobic line to Dr. Tesla's Mentarium. Surrounded by the "Electric" fence. Whirl... Whirl... Whirl... Oh, hey! Look who's open! ...And fury. (Or is it the other way around?) The twin robocoasters always have a long line despite the high upcharge. Rage... The entrance to what are hands down, two of the most popular attractions in the park/ The entrance plaza has a nice, although a bit too crowded of a feel to it. Hmmm... This ride was closed at the time It ook this picture, buut I had a guess what it might be... It's themed to a mad scientist's castle... What goes on inside is pretty awesome. Queing for Dr. Telsa's Mentarium. The teacups ride More Wonder Golf. Wonder Golf is one of the nicer themed Mini Golf courses out there... Outside of the Dells, anyway... Why, it's everyone's favorite minigolf adventure, Wonder Golf! Hmmm... Wonder what that is over there? It's a fun ride, and if you face the other way then it keeps looking like you're going to crash into the rocks! One of the park's newer rides, Tyranasaurus towers over the park. RMA coming swingin' round the bend. Tsunami... Oh, yeah, and some coaster. A look down the park's entrance midway.
  23. Yes, I'm using a WACOM tablet.
  24. Ben (Or should I call you neb? XD been following you on DA...) and netdvn, your works are so awesome! Netdvn.... I gotta commend you on the angle you choose to draw the park fom. That's something you really don't see alot. Most of the time parks are drawn moreso from above. The angle makes it feel alot more real, and less like a map. Another page from the comic book I'm working on, from the comics about the Midwest trip.
  25. I posted about this two days ago in my Israeli coaster geek forums, but I figured I should probably post it here, too. A couple days ago I looked out from the window of my college and saw a large diagonal balck line in the park's skyline, so I figured it was a crane, meaning vertical construction has either started, or was about to start. so I headed on over to the park. A support being moved into place! The support structure has ruled out a Freefly. By the looks of it the coaster starts with a sharp, very low-sloped turn dop out of the lift hill. So I'm guessing it mgiht be a spinning coaster of some sorts? I later went and talked with the secruity guard and a couple of random park emoplyees. He was alot nicer than last time. I didn't get any new info about the coaster but I left with a smile on my face regarless, which doesn't happen to me that often when interacting with park staff. Yes! Supports! Woohoo! And fairly tall ones by the looks of it! (Shorter than the old rollercoaster, accoridng to a park emplyee, but good news nevertheless) What's that I see in the distance, under the crane? Are those...?
