  1. Gilmore Girls.
  2. Ugh,that sucks... Reminds me of the time an employee at my home park screamed his head off at me to get lost, while I was looking at the new coaster being bult(from the OUTSIDE of the park, mind you), and didn't even offer an explanation.
  3. ^I know it's slow because it's recording, but when the game getting recorded lags, then so does the video recording it
  4. That's what the doctor said
  5. What did you use to capture the video? The frame rate is wonderful, and everyime I try to get a video of my NL coasters the framerate drops to about 7fps!
  6. ^Thank you very much!!! I will be in New York on Oct. 7th-19th. I'm going to have to find some way to squeeze in everything I want to do because it seems like everything I want to do is only open on weekends, and on one of the two weekends I'm there I'm going to be visiting New York Comicon!
  7. I want to have fun. That's all there is to it. The idea of going to Dorney wasn't so much about credit whoring as much as it was about the potential fun of a new park.
  8. Thanks, guys! Is Dorney open on weekdays though? Because if it's open on weekdays, and the park really CAN be cleared in 2 hours then it might be a good idea to make my way there one morning just a for a quick hit and run deal. Also, it's not so much that I don't care for flats as much as it is that I've already been on most common flat rides... It takes something unique to wow me. For example, the fact that Dorney has a 1st gen intamin freefall did nudge me a little. And I love stuff like Top Scans or SCAD towers, but Dorney's selection is mostly your run-of-the-mill stuff. EDIT - A second after posting I figured "Why don't I just look it up myself?" And a quick look showed that Dorney is also only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during october. =\ Is one of those suppose dto be praticularly empty?
  9. I'm heading across the Atlantic in October for a vacation in New York. So far I'm planning on visiting Victorian Gardens(Because it's right there in Central Park), Coney Island, and... Undecided. Mostly on the fence between SFGADv and Dorney, but if anyone has any other suggestions, I'll be glad to hear them! Keep in mind it has to be accessible via public transportation though. I'm also into waterparks, in case there's any good one that I overlooked. Now, here's the thing: I've already been to Great Adventure. Twice. Or this wouldn't of even been an issue. I've been there once in 2002 and once in 2007. I've ridden every rollercoaster in the park except Rolling Thunder and El Toro. Whereas I haven't been to Dorney once. Now, on one hand, SFGADv has El freaking Toro, one of the best rollercoasters in the world, as well as Kingda Ka(which I already rode, but still). On the other hand, most of the other rides in the park are pretty "meh", since I'm pretty tired of B&Ms, and I've ridden everything else twice already. Not to mention that they got rid of alot of the rides I did like in the park: The chiller, Viper(yeah, I like Togo, shush), and now GASM. And then there's Dorney, who, on one hand, I've never been to, but on the other hand, the ride lineup does not even nearly compare to SFGADv, especially when you consider that I'm bored with Beemers. Not to the point where they dont' thrill me at all or anything, but they're all sort of "Been there done that" for me. Hopefully Hydra will be more interesting. People seem awfully eager about Dorney for some reason, so that's why I havne't ruled it out already, but I am leaning towards SFGADv at the moment. What are your thoughts? Ideally I'd visit both, but I still want to leave enought ime to enjoy New York City itself. Another thing to keep in mind is that I'm going to be there during the Halloween celebrations, if that makes any difference. And if anyone else has any more tips to getting the best out of my trip, I'd be happy to hear them! I'm already planning on getting whatever line-cutting system the parks have but I trust there's more I can do.
  10. I've never been on a tower of terror ride, so I can't quite understand how is it even psosible to fall from it? I thought it was entirely enclosed, and has a floor?
  11. Just a tiny little update - I wanted to happily announce that the hebrew version of the book has been successfuly released yesterday, with 120 pages, more than half of which are about the Midwest trip (And even more are planned for the next book!) I'm very proud of how it turned out. The english version should be done some time in the next two months... At least once I gather up the funds to do another print run.
  12. ^Wow! That thing looks like a BLAST! Where is that park, Brazil?
  13. Wow! I'm so happy to see this thread still up and running! It's becoming quite the senior thread here! they grow up so fast. Wow, putting aside how fun that looks, it's really BEAUTIFUL. Especially with that mountian in the background. Sweet dancing chipotle! Where is that?! Loop or overhyped helix, either way, It looks awesome!!! Haha, yeah, I rode one of those in turkey, it's super awesome how you can go uphill without the use of LIMs, conveyor belts or water jets. I cna't imagine how that ugy so much air though. I'm usually a veyr fast slider and I didn't get even NEARLY that much air. That looks SO COOL... Until you see the video of the guy falling form the top and cracking his ribs... Yikes... I'd definately think twice before riding that. Anyhow, I've had a vibe for a long time now that my home park, Yamit 2000 is about to get a looping waterslide... It just seems like the sort of thing they would build... I really hope I'm right. They used to build something eveyr year but they haven't built anything for the last 3... So who knows.
  14. Resisting... Urge... To turn that... Into a lil' Robby Rob Comic...
  15. ^ Shhhh! Don't give away the punch line!
  16. Heh, actually, no, it was Firehawk at Kings Island. From what I understand the park-opening-dash is called the running of the bulls regardless of what the ride is. Awesome I'm glad to hear it's working out for yuo. Just a little tip: I personally love workign with proffessional pantone/artline/whatever markers. They end up looking soooo nice. Even if they are rather pricy and you have to be careful with 'em. Thank you very much! I'm rushing to finish the book in time for the August comics festival... I also plan on flying to New York in October and visit new york comic con, so if anyone lives in the area y'all can come buy a book first hand
  17. Heheh, thank you! Though I'm not sure I understand you, Jhonnymarsh.
  18. Oh wow! I haven't checked this page out in too long! Lots of amazing stuff posted! Netdvn - I LOVE your park maps... But I couldn't figure out what I'm looking at if my hard drive depended on it! the smae thing that makes them so wonderful to look at - the amazing detail, is also something that makes them confusing to look at. May I suggest using selective wide outlines to bring out certain things? Or perhaps even color? Because I'd hate for you to make less detailed drawings, but I do want to be able to see everything in the park at once. And sicne I havne't posted here in a while I'll find something from my comic book to upload.... Page 2 of the Kings Island comic.
  19. Heh, thanks, but nah, I don't update these anymore... They look incredibly silly in retrospect. Right now I'm focusing on college work, and on my new comic book, the one with all the coaster related stories, that's planned to come out this Aguust.
  20. Awesome! I saw the part about the city buying the place but honestly the entire topic went back and forth so often it was giving me a headche to try and follow what's going on with the park. But I'm really glad to see Coney Island regaining at least PART of it's former glory, especially if they plan on keeping it that way. A couple of those rides I've never seen before! Would be nice to see an original coaster pop up there but for now I'm perfectly happy just seeing what they've done with the place. One more reason for me to visit New York sometime this year!
  21. Whoa! Wait, what?! When did all of this happen?! Coney Island is getting new rides? Weren't they about to turn the place into a resort casino or something?
  22. I know that was intended as a joke, but with the right effects, that could be a seriously kickass ride.
  23. Personally I think that if there was a James Bond ride it would be beter if it was not a B&M. B&Ms lack the insanity that a ride like that would need, and the layouts are all pretty mcuh the same. I think that a ride based on something like James Bond would need to have a custom-tailored layout to match it's theming and effects. But until one is built, there's always the Italian Job stunt tracks at American ex-paramount parks.
  24. I still have that game got it from an old games website. Used to play it ALL THE TIME when I was a kid.
