  1. Damn... Now the chorus is stuck in my head!!! Awesome though...
  2. Thanks so much. Honestly that looks insane! I think I can understand the short trains now. I mean it just looks like it could generate insane airtime. Are there any rumors of one of these coming to the US?
  3. I could really go for a MegaLite... That looks like an insane layout for the size. I still can't really find a good pic of the whole layout. Has anyone seen one? More on topic: Can China really support this many parks? I mean these are pretty expensive rides...
  4. ^Hasn't Rim Runner been rumored to be going for years now? It didn't seem to be running terribly well when I went there a few years ago. Wouldn't it be kind of pointless to remove Rim Runner due to the scenery it runs through? I mean does it really take up much room other than the splash pool?
  5. Is anyone else amazed how Vegas seems determined to remove any sort of character from the casinos right now? Honestly who is going to want to go to a specific Casino when all of them look exactly the same and offer exactly the same entertainment? Is this the death of the Vegas that was built up over the last several decades? I mean Star Trek is gone. Luxor is going generic. TI... Nothing else needs to be said there. I know there are tons of other examples but what is there going to be to attract people? People can gamble anywhere in Nevada...
  6. Clearly Rock is dead... Either that or the park was a completely mismanaged piece... Hopefully they can find someone who can turn it around because I honestly don't think the current heads can do it based on this seasons performance.
  7. I haven't ridden a Euro Fighter yet (so I haven't voted) but honestly I was disappointed by Griffon this summer. It really had very little in the way of forces even at the far outside of the rows. The drops are cool but after that there really isn't anything much to speak of. I really want to try some Euro Fighters because they look aggressive.
  8. I gotta say reading this news... So sad... I would love them to fix the few issues with it (those ankle beaters can go to start) than them add superfluous crap to it. I really don't like the idea of on ride audio for outdoor rides. On ride audio IMHO only belongs on indoor rides which can be completely controlled. The thrill of outdoor rides comes partially from the quiet of the lift then the roar of the air. I don't want that ruined.
  9. Amazing pics as always... Sadly I didn't appear in any of them Still Superman was about the only ride to leave a serious lasting impression... OMG I my ankles were bruised from ERT! It wasn't visible but the second day it was painful! Every airtime hill hurt but it was still amazing.
  10. Most of the time parks track injuries that require external attention. This can be as simple as someone who ends up with heat stroke and needs significant fluids or it can be serious injuries(usually things that are dangerous without attention). In any case it is typically a sign of how well setup a park is to handle the normal operation. The one thing that is pretty clear to me is that consistently waterparks are far more injury prone. Heck I am fairly injury prone at waterparks. I have cut my foot several times at waterparks and got a nice abrasion at WaterWorld in Denver on my last trip. (Thankfully never any more than First Aid booth worthy) I guess all I am saying is don't dismiss the numbers. It is a good thing to know but that said it really shouldn't worry anyone. Similarly people really need to pay attention to park instructions. I honestly don't worry too much about putting up my hands on most rides but I will always err on the side of caution. (Oh and the original article seems to be down now)
  11. ^That is so true... The China updates are great and I am absolutely enjoying the updates. I'm also really enjoying all the other ECT trip reports... If it would be possible to post links to them in the official trip report that would be freaking awesome. Now that I have been on one of the trips it gives me a completely new respect for just how crazy the whole thing is. Robb and Elissa put a ton into these trips and the fact that Robb actually manages to keep up with these updates is insane. I know I have mad amounts of respect for both of them now. I couldn't keep up the rate they do for so long in the summer. Heck most of the ECT I was ready to collapse when we hit the hotel (and most of the time I did).
  12. I'm so sick of this drama... I honestly knew that things were going to fall apart in this whole development. This is the same thing that has happened worldwide as developers move into these locations. I really would like to see a combined shopping and amusement area work. I mean heck they could make an amazing setting with bars and clubs along with a mix of great rides. It just doesn't seem to be on the minds of these developers who only want to cash out as quickly as possible. Honestly I am so glad I got there this year on the ECT and I am really sad I didn't get on more rides.
  13. If it really was about 10 years ago is it possible it was California's Great America? It seems like it might have been about that long ago that they changed the freefall for the drop tower. I doubt it is right but it is at least something to look into. Honestly so far I have only had good SLC experiences in exceptional circumstances. I have had great rides on SLCs after rain and the like. I wish that more would put the new restraints and seats in because after riding them they really make a big difference. As I said before the park looks great. I hope that it continues to prosper.
  14. Looks like a really nice park. Honestly the rapids are nicer than most parks I have been to. I honestly wish some of these places weren't so far flung. BTW I hope your first experience on the SLC isn't too painful. Just one thing. Please post multiple pictures in a single post instead of one per post. It is much easier to read when all the pictures are in one post instead of spread over several pages.
  15. BTW just to clarify the car #9 on the whip... It was the one that had a couple in it the ride before and every time it whipped around the end the car was practically airborne. It was absurd to see... I mean it went up on one wheel and somehow careened around the corner before crashing to a halt just before screaming around the next end. I don't know how it was possible and it didn't seem to happen the following rides. I really loved Rye's rides... They were really a great collection of classics. I wish more parks kept these around. Sadly the coasters weren't all that I was hoping... Especially when the previous day had been so great.
  16. I really don't know why people were so down on Rye... It really wasn't that bad. I never really felt in danger at all. Heck it was less scary than some of the chain parks on the trip... Plus it had some of the best dark rides on the trip. Saddest thing though was finding out that we would be denied the mouse. I gotta say though they had one freaking wicked whip! That thing got AIR! How I have no idea... The Derby was really fun as well. I wish there were more of those around.
  17. Finally some pics of me slipped into someones camera... I do love the second pic of Mike Austin on the swing... I can't really describe the expression on his face but it is pretty funny. I'm trying to figure out what his hair is doing as well... I definitely agree that the top 3 ERTs were Boulder Dash, Lightning Racer, and Phoenix. So many great moments and they were all truly parties unlike most of the ERT sessions.
  18. You should definitely consider cleaning that corner on the drop machine up. It looks really rough and some simple changes would make it look much better. Just experiment with some of the smoothing tools and you should find a way to easily make that look much nicer.
  19. The Mad Mouse was hilarious... It was one of those rides you felt fairly safe one minute before suddenly being thrust into some obscenely fast turn while the whole structure swayed around you. Also of note was the fact that I believe we were required to ride double. I don't know about any of the other people riding in back but that seat belt sat right across my kneecaps. This of course ensured that any rapid stop would probably result in me being propelled head first out of the car. Still Incredibly FUN!!!
  20. I agree it is a great park. It is in need of some TLC though... I really hope that they can keep making progress towards becoming an even more pleasant place to be. It could be fun to do a meet at the park sometime...
  21. Why must I suffer from PAX jealousy? Seriously this is kinda sad... I REALLY want to ride some of those insane rides... They look fun in a sort of sadistic insane "I really don't want to walk tomorrow" kind of way.
  22. Don't know why people are bothered by this sort of thing. Honestly that is what addresses are there for. It doesn't take much longer to find a house using a good old map and some common sense. Besides just think of the convenience and all the positives that come along with the potential negatives.
  23. I have many fond memories of Whip rides... Thankfully Lakeside here in Denver has their Whip running. Unfortunately each ride was a way too long when I last visited, so the novelty wore off when there was still about 3 minutes of the ride left...
  24. Can I just ask what happens if we send in a deposit and the trip is already full? Also how quickly do you expect the spots to go? I'm pretty sure I want to go on the East Coast trip but I gotta try and get a few things organized before I can send off a deposit.
  25. Yeah it seems based on the wikipedia stuff that the Green Lantern that is associated with the Justice League is that one... So it kinda makes sense...
