  1. And with that Rob was officially the first to cross the PG-13 line...
  2. Yeah I believe the only six flags ever in Florida was the water park that closed in like 1992 or something.
  3. You know to be honest I know what you mean. At Thorpe Park on Nemesis Inferno they did such a good job decorating the outside of the station and then the ride dives underneath it and you see all sorts of exposed steel and the like... Also a huge bummer to me was when I went to WaterWorld (admittedly the second to last weekend of the season) last year the Lost River of the Pharoh's was missing probably about half the old themeing pieces and many of the pieces that were there weren't active. Seeing as it was the first of the themed dark water rides and my favorite ride at the park when we first moved to CO it was a bit disappointing. Of course then there was when they were doing the refurb on the Voyage to the center of the earth and I could see a huge hole in the neck of the T-Rex. That was just funny though and I knew it would be fixed.
  4. LOL... Thats why you ended up with "I guess donkeys are okay" in the first place. I can't wait to see what comes from this
  5. I'm having an out of body experience... So I couldn't tell you...
  6. I know what Rob and Elissa will say... At least I am guessing it will have something to do with the last posts on the main site. I'm just wondering what everyone else would say. Oh and this is continuing the theme of the highs and lows of rides. Truth be told I would have to say the worst themeing I have ever seen was probably X://No Way Out. Granted it has been years since I went on it (it was broken down when I tried to go during the rain last year) but honestly I don't remember anything but black. Black during the line to the ride (so bad I actually got turned around and started heading back out...) and then black during the ride. Seriously I can't remember any real bad ones right now. I'll try to come up with some.
  7. Video worked fine for me in Firefox (OSX). OMG I will never say anything negative about the Grizzly at PGA again. I swear I know it is supposed to be a family ride but it is like the designers forgot that roller coasters can be banked so they can go at a speed faster that race walking... Also whats up with that station. It's like they didn't even care. BTW Rob I know this is kinda a silly thing but your videos are always INCREDIBLY LOUD! At least on my mac through about every program. I actually had the volume basically to dead and it was still so loud that I had to turn down the speakers. I don't know if this is a problem specifically on the mac but it is really a shock when you play something and are suddently blasted out of your seat.
  8. Elissa why did you have to go there... Seriously I don't know if this is worse or not because they will be around kids.
  9. From the description it sounds like there is a bit of pyro during the launch. Is that for real? Is it just basically re-using the lift chain and splashdown from the original ride? It kinda looks like it from some pictures of the old ride and the new ride on rcdb. Anyone have any idea?
  10. I'd love to go to any park... I would hate to think how short the season is for most parks there though.
  11. lol this is terrible but honestly I think the last roller coaster I rode was the Mind Eraser at Elitch Gardens... Pity me. Still at least last summer I got to go to Thorpe Park and ride Collosus and Nemesis Inferno. Collosus was pretty damn cool and the amount of inversions was insane. Of course later in the day London had one of the worst rainstorms ever. There was litterally like 3 inches deep of water running down the pathways (yes you know those like 10-15ft wide pathways around the parks). It was absolutely insane.
  12. So Rob when can we look forward to a video of it? (btw the lol emoticon is weak...) I'm seriously interested in this ride because it seems like it might be one of the most interesting designs out there (especially since it looks like a combination of S&S and Arrow tech). I'm still trying to understand the capacity when there are only 3 trains and it has a launch and lift hill.
  13. Just out of curiosity Rob what sort of things did you have to do to get involved in the game industry and move up to where you are. I'd love to hear some of the stories. Well all the ones that don't involve late nights and poor choices of activities (yeah preferably nothing too specific on those sort of things...).
  14. The expressions pasted on the faces of those characters is about the scariest thing I have ever seen. Seriously how do kids like that sort of thing. BTW Rob I like the fact that your profile still shows gender unknown...
  15. Does that explain why both old arrows and old vekomas get rough? Seriously though the arrows seem to hold out a bit longer though. BTW what happened to the dive machines supposedly not being able to do acrobatics and stuff because of the super wide cars?
  16. I would like to be the "Random Ranter" constantly attacking something at the least predictable times!!! Either that or "Yes I really have nothing better to do"... EDIT: Thanks Elissa
  17. Hi I'm Matt... I'm in northern Colorado. Those of you that think you are poorly off just think at least you don't have potentially the worst vekoma boomerang on earth at the only park that adds rides anywhere near you. Don't get me wrong I love CO but the coasters here aren't really worth writing about. Still we do have WaterWorld which has some rides no other waterpark can match. This area also has quite the variety of Microbrews (still don't know near enough about beers though)... Of course we also have the blasted Bud plant.
  18. Yes what a great idea because the traveling fairs always have that not quite as wholesome as even a SixFlags kinda vibe. Yep you could have the creepy carnie missing teeth running the ball toss game. Instead of training you could pay for him to get bridgework and make him look just that much more human. Also the creaky rides with the crazy ride attendants. Ah it's wholesome family entertainment. Awesome idea... Definitely should be rated M though. Can't warp those kiddies minds too much. (oh and to all the people I might have just stereotyped. My apologies.) Truth be told could anyone see this turning into some Silent Hill meets RCT thing?
  19. Seriously I can't think of many theme parks I have been to. Unless you count paved pathways with the occasional tree as themeing. So I guess I would have to give the super lame Disney World answer as well. Seriously nothing else compares themeing wise.
  20. Ok yeah so it's my first post... So if I screw up completely have sympathy Seriously though you have no idea what rough is. Try riding anything at Elitch Gardens after a few seasons. You haven't ridden a truly awful Vekoma Boomerang until you try theirs. I swear somehow the chain lift manages to jerk the entire train about 3 times: when you first pick up the chain, somewhere in the middle, and then as it releases. That is to say nothing about the also unspeakably bumpy track. Oh and as thrilled as I was by the Intamin Halfpipe at the beginning of the season somehow it was already getting bumpy at the bottom of the curve by the end of the season. Six Flags really knows how to take care of rides. Oh did I mention that they replaced the first curve of the Twister 2 last season and never painted it!!! Yet it is about the smoothest ride in the park... Truly though I have never ridden anything quite as awful as the boomerang here. Especially sad is that I have ridden some of the same rides in other parks and comparably they are smooth as glass...
