  1. I've been to PGA sooooooooo many times between 1999-2003. I had such a hard time seeing Stealth go. It was the worst decision in Paramount history. they gave up the title of "WORLD"S FIRST FLYING COASTER" for a mediocre waterpark. Even though I live in TN, I'm still praying for GA. They need to buldoze Grizzly and build a Initman woodie like Balder. I'd f***ing die for a Balder clone. It's my most saught after coaster.
  2. Love it! (I can't belive Elissa answered my comment!!!!! I'm starstruck!!!!!)
  3. Man, for all of these GL fanboys, this is turning into "Geauga Lake B*tchfest '07". THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to be harsh, but things have caused a much larger wave of intrest than this. Opryland's closure was mourned more than GL's. The best of GL is being re-encarnated at the rest of the Cf parks; all the more reason to visit them all again!
  4. Wow I'd be totally pissed of either of the SF Texas parks were my home park. Within the laste 10-15, years, SF has done poorley when it comes to building the right coasters for the right parks. None of the parks seem to get what the deserve. SFOT should have gotten a custom flying coaster, and SFMM should have gotten a family spinning coaster. SFOT seems to be one of the better parks in the chain, but it doesn't get treated that way. They seem to get every thing last, like a Superman or Batman ride. SF is treating SFOT and SFFT like their the same park. They have way too much in common for parks ony a few hours away.
  5. Is the Lightning Bolt an Arrow Mine Train with some Intman refurbishment, or the other way around?
  6. I think Knott's Berry Farm has good food. Their chicken is the reason why the park even exists! The Coaster's Grill was a bit cheap, but the frozen lemonade with the lemon bits was quite refreshing on a hot day. I don't eat Mexican food, but my parents were pleased with the food they got in the Mexican secton.
  7. I want PGA to get Dominator, but there's just no room. PGA needs a coaster almost as bad a Michigan's Adventure.
  8. They better paint the ride.... I don't like the S:UE colors.
  9. Ohio is currently the 7th largest state in population, coming in at about a million less than Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania has the following parks: Kennywood Knoebels Hersheypark Idlewild Lakemont Dorney Waldameer Something else that needs to be taken into account is that Kennywood and Idelwilde are the only parks in Pennsylvania that are owned by one chain. CP, KI, and GL are all owned by CF. I could understand why CF would only want 2 major themeparks in one state.
  10. I'm sorry this hit you so hardly. Geauga lake's closure is a big pill to swallow, and even I'm questioning CF wisdom in this situation. The summer of 2007 told held the fate of this park; wether or not it would remain a family park, or downsize to only a water park. The verdict is painfully clear. It makes sense that CF would only need 2 major amusement parks in one state, especially one as small as Ohio, with parks as big as Kings Island and Cedar Point. The only reason Geauga Lake made it this far is that SF bought it in hopes of competing with Cedar Point. With SF out of the picture, and GL in the hands of it's former rival, I think many of us saw this coming. The removal of X-Flight and Steel Venom made it clear that the park would downsize to a family park, to compete with Kennywood. I found this suprizing, because I never did think that Geauga Lake had a chance after SF let it go. Turning the park into just a waterpark is a good business discission, because CF doesn't really need a "family park" in such close proximity with CP. Why bother? I see the appeal of having a stand-alone water park for CF. The success of the California "Soak City" chain has created an alternate nitch that CF an flourish in. I'm just happy that Geauga Lake's rides are finding new homes, so in that way, Geauga Lake will always live on. Geauga Lake's closure is the end of the past, and the beggining of the future. Sometimes, busines is business.
  11. Impressive as usual for Cedar Fair. Having been at Dorney 3 summers ago, I feel like an impulse coaster will really benefit this park. This will be one of their more intense rides hte park has to offer, and the artwork looks excellent!
  12. These are great! The one with Big Loop and Limit looks so dramatic!
  13. The park sounds cute. I'd like to see how it turns out. BTW, how is a Zamperla DiskO Coaster less of a coaster than an Intamin Half Pipe? The Giant DiskO and basic DiskO aren't long or big enough to be considered a coaster, since their just a basic "half moon" shaped layout. It would be like calling a Bayern Curve a coaster.
  14. ^^ They could also use it at Gitmo as a torture device.
  15. My guess would be that "Beijing Shibaolai Amusement Equipment" is building this one. This company is behind that SLC imitation. Caripo went bankrupt and sold their desings to Premier Rides. Premier Rides is the other possibilty.
  16. Who told you this? Why would KBF get Double Loop? KI already has 4 woodies, they don't need a 5th one! Cp certinly doesn't need a Bommerang!
  17. ^^^^ Yeah that would be stupid. Anaconda is everything a Boomerang wishes it could be. Beacuse the H-XLC space is so small, I'm gessing that it will be home to an S&S Screamin' Swing, a Huss Giant Frisbee, or one of the flats from Geauga Lake. Man, CF is really tearing up the coaster world! The aftermath will prove to be worth it!
  18. I want to go to "FAKELAND", but its not featured on RCDB... I really want to ride Orange Soda Man: THE RIDE
  19. I think this was a good bussiness decision. Ride wise, Geaga lake was 3rd rate compared to the other CF parks in Ohio. Turning it into a family park with a water park attached wouldn't have fared so well, with CP only an hour away. CF has the northern and southern borders of the state covered--it makes perfect sense that Geaga Lake would be closing. This also means a buffet of 2nd-hand rides for the other CF parks. Gaega Lake Distribution (some of which are opinions/predictions) Steel Venom: Dorney Park X-Flight: King's Island Dominator: Kings Dominion (really hope so) Thunderhawk: Michigan's Adventure (needs it badly) Villan: Great America (after the inevitable destruction of Grizzly) Raging Wolf Bobs: Worlds of Fun (Could use an other woodie) Valleyfair!: Beaver Creak Mine Ride (They could use a better kiddie coaster than Mild Thing) The end is near for Double Loop, Head Spin and Big Dipper. Head Spin is obsolete, and Big Dipper is way old. Double Loop is both obsolete and way old. Knott's Berry Farm and Carowids will get leftovers.
  20. I don't care how much I spend on food at an amusement park, as long as its good. SFKK actually had the best food of any of the SF parks I've been to. I ate Papa John's and Subway all day; I was a happy camper! CP has excellent pretzels at the Gourmet Pretzel Shop next to the Pagoda, and delicious french fries at the Happy Friar. Both food options are good, but CF's options have more originality. SF tends to have more chains than independedent eateries, but chains have a certain standards, whcih even a SF park can't mess up. As for other CF parks with good food, Dorney had excellent soft serve with fresh baked waffles, and Knott's had tortillas! Yum!
  21. I was actualy very impressed with Wildcat. It's the smallest coaster in the park but it still shines. It's speedy, colorful, and extremely smooth.
  22. I'm really worried about the Haunted Pretzel.
  23. Umm......Matterhorn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. ...and America looses a tiny peice of classic amusement history. I'm not making the same mistake I made durring the Zippin Pippin auction; I'm going to buy Cyclone!
  25. What lovely renderings! All the more reason to go to Kansas City!
