The Moosejaw Lodge Restaurant @ Wisconsin Dells
Chaddyboy replied to coaster_maniac's topic in Random, Random, Random
Dude, Moosejaws is my favorite restaurant within 3 hours of the Dells! Everything on the menu was amazing, and I loved the was it was decorated. One of the better microbrewery/restuarants I've ever been to. I haven't tried the mozarella sticks yet, but I will when I'm there on the 14th. -
God, room and board costs must be through the roof. Those dorms are incredible.

Tilt Coaster!?!?!
Chaddyboy replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The part when the track is tilting just seems a little shifty to me. What's to stop the train from letting loose and spilling out all over the pavement in front of the tilt? Is Vekoma just trying to kill people now? boo, crappy vekoma concepts HOORAY, BEER!!! -

Did anyone besides me ever check out the website for Timber Falls in the Wisconsin Dells? A couple years ago they built the intense Avalanche roller coaster. Avalanche is a woodie, but they have a picture of Desperado, a steel coaster, on their site. Who do they think they're fooling with this? The photo is on the front page. http://www.timberfallspark.com/

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Chaddyboy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with this statement. It is too early in the construction process to possibly decipher what this is. All we can say is that MAVERICK is Intamin, by looking at the only solid evidence we have, the way the pieces of track at the site are designed. That's about it. -
That's some darned funny stuff. The best part is, that stuff actually happens quite often. It's not just something you hear comedians say that seem like they could happen but you've never experienced.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Chaddyboy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A ride doesn't have to be insanely tall, fast or a record breaker to be a fun coaster. Look at the rides at Disney parks, they are in no way record breakers, but are some of the most fun you can have. I wasn't saying that the ride wouldn't be fun because it wouldn't be a record breaker. I'm am strongly against record breakers. Some of my favorite coasters don't even clear 150 ft. All I meant to say was that everyone is expecting some huge monstrosity that goes 700 ft in the air and breaks the sound barrier, but they're not going to get it. -

I have this feeling that MAVERICK will be a huge letdown. It's probably gonna be less than 100 ft tall, if that, and its probably not going to be something special, just a big letdown to all of the fanboys. -
Against Leather and Animal Testing !!!!
Chaddyboy replied to Hercules's topic in Random, Random, Random
I got a comment about deer hunting. I live in Door County Wisconsin (the thumb on Wisconsin). If we don't have a deer hunting season, the deer population would grow like if you left two rabbits alone together for a year. They would ram through their food supply faster than you could say Vekoma. The DNR and animal rights activists up here encourage deer hunting because it is incredibly necessary for a stable ecosystem. I am very much against animal cruelty, but I believe that deer hunting does not fit under animal cruelty. Now beemerboy, I believe you have it wrong. If you give younger kids access to rifles at a younger age, they learn gun safety and with their own eyes see that guns are not toys. They are able to comprehend for themselves that guns are dangerous and when they grow older they have a better respect for what firearms are capable of. I have seen this first hand. There are some of the most out of control ADD kids I've ever seen that deer hunt. When I first found out they hunt, I was appauled. How could their parents possibly let them use a rifle? One day before deer season I stopped by the the local gun club because of some business for work. I saw them shooting and I was amazed at how calm and focused they were. Things completely changed when the rifle was put in their hands. This may seem a little extreme, but if we gave children a drivers license at the age of 10, I could almost guarantee that they would be better drivers for life. The whole world needs to sit down and rethink how it looks at moral and ethical issues and stop being so oblivious to ways to put and end to our problems. I do believe animal cruelty needs to end, but we need to define what cruelty is. I believe that poaching is cruelty, but not deer hunting. The regulations placed on deer hunting in Wisconsin do not allow for the slaughtering of deer, but merely for the hunting. This is not cruel. As for the allowing children to have firearms, I would like to say that less than 1% of all deaths to children under the age of 15 are caused by firearms. People say that we need to tighten gun control, but why? What problems are we fixing? Is this a problem that needs fixing? We can't go jumping into legislation and off the wall regulations without knowing if a problem actually exists. -
Excellent TR. Looks like the weather worked out perfectly for you, (unlike EVERY TIME I'VE PLANNED A TRIP TO CP!!!), and... yeah. Good job. That stick figure was creeping me out.

Cypress Gardens Photos and POV video of their woodie!!!
Chaddyboy replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I think it would be amazing if this park just kept growing and growing, and sooner or later it would have a nice sized Intamin coaster. I think it's great we're seeing a park go from rags to riches for a change, instead of the other way around. -
Elitch Gardens Discussion Thread
Chaddyboy replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All we can do is pray that the zoning laws don't change and allow the park to be destroyed. I'd be quite happy with the park not changing very much at all except for the removal of the Six Flags name. -
