Theme Park Review's 2007 Group Trips!
TexTitan01 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well no, but you are about the 5th person I've heard ask about 2008. and I think that rather then worrying about even farther off in the future trips, it would be a better use of your time to think about how you could get on a 2007 trip. Unless you already know any plan for you in 2007 is totally shot, inwhich forget everything I said -

TexTitan01 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^lets just get through next years trips before we start up on MORE future trips. Asking about 2008 will put too much pressure on R&E, so its probably best to just zip it about 2008, and focus on which 2007 trips you can do. -

^ Elissa I just sent my check in via snail mail. I also have the OK from both my parents on this whole alone-for-10-days-with-TPR trip. Now all I think there is to do is have the little chit-chat. I included my parents e-mails in with the deposit, along with all the vitals that were specified on the flyer Look forward to hearing from you about the minority details! -Tex P.S- Guess I should ask a question to make this a relevant post, eh? For all the parks w/ included waterparks that we come across on the trip, if its a swealtering day out (most likely to happen, in the mid-west in AUGUST), would the whole of the group decide "Hey, we're hot. Lets go cool off!" or would some go to the waterpark and some go to like the splashdown rides or something. -

^ agreed why would it be too late? If your thinking there might already be too many deposits for spots chill. I've so far seen atleast 2 people who were saying "oh i can do it i just need to save money!" and are now thinking "oh, i cant go because ". I really doubt there is any reason to fret about your deposit not making it in. Now if it were september 28 @ 11:59pm, then I would get a little flustered . -

Its not really a matter of people who are younger (guess that wasnt really what I meant to sound like ), its more a matter of just anybody that doesnt read the flyer and thinks they can get on the trip no problem. Watching this topic and the topic preceding this I've seen so many people that dont read then ask questions when the answer is in the flyer black & white, then they get flamed for acting like that. Its just disrespectful for people to not even take 10 minutes to read what Robb & Elissa have been planning for countless hours. Remember they had 3 trips to plan out, that means contacting parks, planning out routes, looking @ hotel accomodations, planning check-in/check-out, and many more things I'm sure I've missed. Thats ALOT to do. ^^I've already raised my $2000 for the Mid-West trip, so its not so much price as getting a spot and taking care of minority issues for me. Oh, and I think I should announce to R&E I'll be mailing the check thursday, so count me as signed up -

I doubt there'll be a lack of knowledge weighting on the lottery, but you never know. I know I'd be enraged if I was one of the older people here and I got beat out by some pipsqueak 15-16 yr. old that doesnt know crap about the trip. Actually come to think of it, knowledge discretion doesnt sound like a bad idea. It would definately eliminate the possibility of the whiners and illiterates getting an unfair spot, and the people that do read and do know the guidelines and whatnot would have a better chance since they do deserve it. This could potentially backfire on me but there are probably some people who deserve priority over a first-timer like me. -Tex "Doesnt change the fact that I REALLY want to go " -

This was discussed already, but on another topic preceding this one. I would really like to believe you read that, but if you didnt yes 2 people will be counted as one on the lottery. I really hope people arent being as irrational as I think they are -

Wow you really know how to flame 'em as they come dont ya? Though I can understand where your coming from. I cant even begin to imagine how much time R&E have spent making this a possibility, then selfish little punks who dont know or dont care about the hours put into this chime in "OOOH I WANNA GO!!!! How much is it??? whats ERT? I dont like that park, can we go someplace else? Do we get to ride Voyage?!?" I'll second what coaster05 is saying and put more emphasis on how important it is to read and get a full understanding of these trip flyers inside, outside, black, white, whatever! -end ramble -

my parents are letting me go, because my mom just went to Wimbledon (she's a tennis pro at a country club in town) and she knows what its like to make a pilgrimage trip for something you looove. I just wish she would HOP TO IT WITH THE DEPOSIT ! But theres only 23 people signed up, so I still have time to get mine in. If you send your deposit via mail, will you not count us as signed up until you get it? -
Hope this doesnt get locked, I didnt find another topic along the same lines as this so I dont think it will... To start of the rounds I am a swimmer, a diehard swim-in-a-lightning-storm swimmer. I do USASwimming (kind of a big deal) and IMO I'm reasonably fast. I swim backstroke & Individual Medley, my specialty being the 200IM (time of 2:12.07). I'm sure theres probably someone who will read this and ask "Do you wear a speedo? Ewwwww!", Yes I wear speedos, but it takes a real man to fit into one of those. So what do the rest of y'all play to keep the fatties away?

^ yea, some people just dont get it. They dont know whats funny, and what should get a slap on the wrist. THIS was funny, in the way that after I got done I said to myself "they really did that @ Six Flags??? " I really think this was a borderline TR and actually sets a good example of what could cross the line. Either way, this was funny, and all you prea- I mean crit- I mean, oh nevermind, y'all need to take a chill pill -Tex 100TH POST!!!!! W00T!!! -

IMHO I think Katuns may have been a bit overdone, just looks like there were too many feather things. I think that covers should be basic, but reasonably artistic. So I voted for my dear alpie's cover. -Tex 1 -

::sigh:: cryin shame what happened to our dear Mega Zeph. I really hope someone can come around to restore the park, or atleast salvage what they can. Does it all really just look like crap down there? -Tex 3 -
If I should be able to go on the Mid-west trip (though it seems like theres a bit of competition...) I think my Top 5 rides list will go a little something like this: 5. Kentucky Rumbler 4. CP project '07 (placing subject to change) 3. TTD 2. (tie) Raven & Legend 1. VOYAGE I'm a hardcore woodie lover, and I cant get over the fact that we'll be hitting woodie capital of the world! -Tex aka Resident Woodie Whore

That was money, not just funny or amusing; that was MONEY. I've tried that box down the stairs thing, although I used a larger flight of stairs than yours...that curved....and almost killed me you gotta make more of these movies. This one cracked me up! Good luck with the marriage! -Tex -
Niiicolaaah's TPR UK Trip Photos
TexTitan01 replied to niiicolaaah's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I just got done reading and I can now honestly say TPR trips kick ass!!! That looked like it was soo much fun! @ the ride that wants you to die, I never knew there were homicidal rides in the world. The wooden nazi bears were cute IMO, until they see Joey; then they fall into genocidal madness. I also could tell how your photography got better. Like @ the beginning, they were just like "meh..." quality shots; but you took some pretty good ones as the trip drew to the end! Great TR, and heres to many more TPR trips! -Tex
