  1. I feel so stupid...I've been patiently waiting for the rest of your PTR after day one and here you already posted it a while ago. How the hell did I skip over them? Anyways, great to see you had so much fun.
  2. Xcelerator, or Superman: The Escape...they just launch you without any of that useless talking.
  3. Its not really practical to have one motor large enough and powerful enough to launch these coasters. Therefore, you use many motors to achieve the same results. Think of it this way, you could either buy the strongest horse ever to pull your 3 ton cart, or you can buy 30 mediocre horses to do the same. Only problem is that you now have to simultaneously control all those motors...each one needs to work at the same time and just as fast as the others.
  4. Happy Birthday, I guess. I don't think we should celebrate, we should curse the fact that it has lasted so long.
  5. Its actually not as complicated as it looks. Each motor has its own system, and there are 30-40 motors so there are a lot of random systems all over the place to run each one. The principle behind running one motor is very simple, but when you make that one motor into 30+, then you have what looks like a mess on your hands.
  6. ^Then Colossus backwards during Fright Fest wouldn't be a special treat.
  7. Actually, thats one big hydraulic motor system. The motors themselves aren't extremely large. The hydraulic launch consists of many hydraulic motors that work together at one motor. It looks to be about 17-18 motors on each side of the spool...meaning there are around 35 motors running the launch.[/u]
  8. I wouldn't think so. While designing and manufacturing one involves Physics, the majority of the focus is put into engineering, as well as some architecture. If you want to be considered for the industry I would work towards civil or mechanical engineering, as well as electrical. The best would be to focus on one area, such as mechanical, and then get a general understanding of each of the other branches.
  9. You better watch out Chuck. Pretty soon you will start thinking the staff is better there as well! TJ "No one beats Chuck" MacLennnan
  10. Looks like PointBuzz just copy and paste the patent for the hydraulic launch and added simpler terms...lol.
  11. Pretty much any Disney ride, or at least the E-Ticket rides. I'm also fond of McDonald's: The Ride...Tatsu that is.
  12. I think if you're going to make a generic "favorite" thread you should at least choose something thats not as limited as a Frisbee. It just doesn't seem like there's enough of a variety to choose from...but hey, I'm never ridden one so what do I know.
  13. The best from my limited experience is Disney food, but not all. I really like the sit down restaurant food. That includes the soup in a bread bowl, french dip, and gumbo. The worst would have to be SFMM, but there are times that they surprise me.
  14. Today I slept past 5:00 PM for the first time...damn Pop Trivia game at the Alveys!
  15. I have a 15 GB iPod and the upgraded Apple headphones...good enough for me.
  16. This sounds really familiar for some reason.
  17. I think everyone is wrong...what about TTD? That ride is much better, but then again I haven't been on that, EGF, or Goliath so what do I know...
  18. Really? This sounds so familiar for some reason...maybe because it is old news... http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=30922 It was on page 4 and has lots of content, FYI.
  19. Funny, we're gonna be saying the same when you die, Ryan. And yes, we will be saying "she".
  20. The eye injury reminds me of one of mine... I was in Jr. High metal shop and was finished with the course material early, along with two other people. So the teacher showed us how to use the arc welder...and then left us alone. Me being the idiot I am took off my eye wear and didn't stare directly at the weld, but always had it in sight. That night my eyes burnt so bad and felt like I poured sand covered in hot sauce inside them and all around my eye socket. Worst feeling ever...
  21. I rode both yesterday and X is better due to its excellent maintenance program...lol.
  22. Eww, civil engineering...that's where the dumb engineers go! Lol, thats what my mechanical engineering professor told all those double majoring or minoring in civil...yes I was one of them. Any who...I got Rayman a few weeks ago and I wish I had someone to play it with. I won't let my roommate play as he thought he would get half ownership over it if he put money into an extra wiimote...dumb ass!
  23. I broke my right collar bone coming out of my mom during birth. I think the worst story I've heard of is when Mike was hit by a car trying to catch a Frisbee that Jahan had thrown...ouch.
  24. I currently have 5 desktop backgrounds that alternate every 15 seconds. All were taken by me, as you can tell by the average quality.
  25. No What is this like a questionnaire or something?
