  1. Wow, I can only imagine the ride Balder must give. Some day.....
  2. Just got back from our Coaster Celebration trip. During evening ERT we got in 3 rides and they were amazing. Riding that beast at midnight with a bunch of crazy coaster people is an experience to be had. Plus, if it hasn't already been mentioned, the airtime is amazing.
  3. I have always thought night time rides on BBW are a definite must if you visit BGE. Emerald Beat is my hands down favorite show, but I do miss Irish Thunder. It was one of the few shows I actually enjoyed seeing more than once.
  4. I popped in to SFA for a quick visit today and JJ was not running. And there was no visible activity on the ride.
  5. ^ They've got chocolate and Storm Runner. I'd say that's pretty decent.
  6. And this is the station I listen to every morning. Gotta love DC. HA! Gary
  7. Here's the link http://www.hot995.com/pages/hot_videos.html?feed=129533&article=497645 Be forewarned, this is their "stupid stunt" guy and his screaming can get a little annoying. But the DJs are very funny. Enjoy. Video from HOT 99.5 FM. Gary
  8. They weren't clear if they were using the winner's design for sure. But the contest just ended in January, so it might have all been part of their anniversary plans.
  9. Ok, well keeping off topic here. According to the Magazine for Southern People. Y'all is the correct spelling.
  10. For a park whose season opening was just last weekend, they seem to have a lot of construction work done already for '07. And during our visit yesterday they mentioned their 100th birthday at least a hundred times. So something else may be up. It looks like the town of Hershey itself is getting ready for the celebration. Also, the proposed ride for Hershey that never made it was Turbulence, a Frequent Faller from Interactive Rides Inc.
  11. Was at the park today 05/13 and took some pictures of just how messed up Midway America is right now and a shot of some of the slides that are going to be installed.
  12. My answer was 11- 20 and that may or may not be my total this year, so far this year I have visited: BGA BGE x2 SWO MK Old Town(not much there, but I'll count it) Dollywood SFOG Planned parks: SFA PKD Knoebels Hershey SFGadv Sesame Place Clementon SFNE Lake Compounce Canobie Lake That should be it for this year, but if I add any more(which is possible) I will go over 20.
  13. I have only done one PTR before this one and it was a long while ago. So bear with me. I finally had a Friday off so I decided to head down to Williamsburg for a few hours. Mainly to scout for construction on that new coaster. No such luck, but it's always a treat to visit the good VA park. I'm not planning a PKD visit anytime soon. At least not until Italian Job opens. Not much else to say, so enjoy the pictures. And to finish off this TPR. A world famous horse....I mean Clydesdale. I wonder how many people's mouths have been on this thing. The view from down the river. My "exclusive" shot. Well, I guess everybody has to have one. Apollo's Chariot running on the river. Some views from the River Cruise. The older gentlemen operating the Cruise were a riot. This really should not be missed. A coaster with an ACE plaque in front of it. Is that a good thing? Cobra Snap is more like it. We used to visit BG alot when I was younger, but I was freaked out by coasters until about 4 years ago. Drachen Fire - A missed credit Loch Ness Loops Big Bad Wolf's moment of spine jarring splendor. From my understanding, someone on here has a vertical loop fetish. Well, here's somewhat of a tease. Mmmm, good Alpy. Alpengeist flippin' over. One of the best park "first impressions" ever. Taken from the line to pay for parking. Ronald Reagan. Yep, thats as good as it gets. Good old Abe. A quick visit to President's Park. A neat little attraction and the lady at the front desk seemed very excited I was there.
  14. ^^The Haunted River, The Time Shaft, and the AMAZING Smurf Mountain. I love Volcano, but I miss me some smurfs.
  15. Looking forward to May, when I can enjoy some Storm Runner goodness. Also, looking forward to a Sally Dark Ride involving junk food. Simply Heaven.
  16. ^^^Hey, we're just slow because most of us sit in traffic several hours a day. But, that left lane thing gets me too, so I understand. I haven't made my trip to PKD this year yet and by the looks of things I'll be in no rush. Probably just a quick trip for IJ when it opens. And Go-Carts next to Grizzly? WTF? This year I may actually consider SFA my home park. Gary "Only a ManAssas resident for 2 more months"
  17. ^ Was just wondering the same about Sunday. We are coming down from DC to ride Goliath. And judging by this TR we will not be disappointed.
  18. Definitely BBW, my brother and I rode it 3 times last night and it kicked our butts all over those woods.
  19. FYI, at least here in Northern VA, Cracker Barrel always has the boxes of Moon Pies.
  20. I only had 3 days in Orlando this go round, next trip I will have to hit Wild Adventures, the Star Flyer, and Expedition Everest. It was nice meeting you briefly on Tuesday. Sheikra is quite a ride. We got 7 cycles in. I will have to post some pics of my own from OTown. We hit Busch Gardens, Sea World, and had dinner with Mickey and Friends at the Contemporary. We also made stops in Old Town, Downtown Disney, and Universal(for a Jimmy Buffett margarita of course). And of course M&M World.
  21. ^ Funny that you mention that. I work for a christian retail company, and we were merchandising a new store this weekend. So of course, I wore my TPR shirt with donkey and all. I don't think I've heard the word "ass" so many times and it be so funny.
  22. ^Smurf Mountain-BEST RIDE EVER!! No pictures though, that was a long time ago. Gary
  23. This season really is a letdown, I drive thru and around DC everyday. Does that deserve a million dollars? Well, sitting in the traffic might be? Plus, those poor civil war reenactors. I would bet some of those guys wish they had real bullets.
  24. Julie - I know exactly how you feel, I didn't get over my complete and utter fear of roller coasters until about 3 years ago. And there are a lot of great moments I missed out on because of it. Would still love to step into a time machine, go back to the mid 90s and grab a ride on Drachen Fire at BGW. Even if it beat the living hell out of me. Gary
