  1. It's the stuff you can't see that would make rehabbing flashback a poor investment. Low "readings" (ridership)+the need of a new electrical system+what I'm sure will be a bunch of mechanical items that need to be repaired/replaced=not money SFMM is going to invest in Flashback. I'm guessing they will remove flashback within the next couple of years and expand Hurricane Harbor.

^Not to mention benzo would cry if anyone tried to insult the Wisonsin State Fair.
  3. ^I believe Zamperla bought SDC.
  4. Popozao-Kevin Federline.
  5. Ugh... ESPN Zone blows. DisneyQuest doesn't. Therefore this sucks.
  6. ^Your videos are already so good that they don't need cheap things like Donkeys and Rodents to make them better.
  7. You went to Sea World before visiting the Universal parks? This makes me sad.
  8. I've always wondered how much more of an insurance liability Intamin rides are because of their unfortunate history with ride accidents/deaths. That has to scare parks way, because Intamin mega coasters are not that expensive. IIRC, Goliath and Walibi World and Expedition GeForce were only in the 7-8 million dollar price range! Factoring in the higher cost of construction in the U.S., that still comes out to 10-12 million dollars. -Joey "who wishes parks would build Balder clones instead of mega coasters anyways" Mandel
  9. Can't go wrong with my favorite flatride getting even bigger! I hope one of these makes it to the states, but I doubt it because it takes 3 or 4 trailers to transport. It might even be too heavy for U.S. roads (like the Huss topspin...the only traveling one in the U.S. goes by rail)?
  10. When I last worked there, I was told that SFMM didn't have the rights to build on the parking lot (or the boneyard behind Psyclone). It was either part of the agreement with Newhall Land and Farming or just not zoned properly.
  11. Ouch.
  12. Just to play devils advocate...It's training night. If it's really "training night" for the employees, of course every employee is going to be there! And of course they are going to be doing their best to try and impress management/practice the new guest service measures. That's what a training night is for, no? Come to the park on July 4th weekend, when I'm sure it will be PACKED, and see how they are doing for a true test of how the park has improved...if it really has.
  13. They really slow the forums down on firefox. Not that you support that browser anyways, bastards!
  14. haha, you beat my friend (iZak) to posting these by a couple of days! A few years ago when we were still working at SFMM, we stopped by there after work and got permission to look around. He just found the CD with those pictures and was going to post them. Seemed like anything that SFMM couldn't possibly need for parts went to this property!
  15. ^Were they giving you all the details so you could train all the other CM's to pretend it never happened? German's have so much experience with that already... I kid. I kid.
  16. As long as they were making their payments to the bank on time...there's no reason for the bank to care. Which, by the way, was entirely possible if "take money from the parks but not pay the local vendors/contractors used" was really how they did business.
  17. Every year I worked there (2001-2003) Sky Tower and Metro allegedly had a budget to open. They even worked on Sky Tower to get one elevator running and used to cycle Metro once a day (or so I was told...never saw it myself). But as I'm sure you noticed...neither of them ever opened. Depending on who you asked, the money was never there to open them to begin with or the money that would have gone to opening them up was used elsewhere. They're only listed as being under refurbishment because they aren't gone from the park, so for budget/record keeping purposes they are listed as down due to refurbishment. Flashbacks reason for being down will probably change to 'safety' when Hurricane Harbor opens. It's just an excuse. Don't count on seeing either of those rides opening again. P.S.: I'm suprised you can hear Kevin Casey blabbing about anything over his techno music.
  18. A lot of people believe that Denise Dinn was responsible for the downfall of CCI. The previously cited examples of how low CCI's prices were give a pretty good idea of her business sense. In fact, I think she has been let go by S&S too! I also don't think it is an accident that she wasn't able to bring the majority of the CCI designers that went on to form Gravity Group with her....
  19. Get a Jetta. Or a GTI if you're into hatchbacks. Great cars!
  20. Since this thread was brought back to life, this is the first time I've seen this. For the record: all tape based formats are also compressed. Just not as bad. DV is actually compressed at 25mb/sec.
  21. I thought you hated WoF?
  22. They're powder blue. How gay is that?
  23. My question seems to have been buried in all the bickering, so let me ask again: I'm going to be there in August to hang out with Robb and Elissa!!! Will you be there too Darkstitch?
  24. Whaaa? There's a "thing?" Now I know what Robb and Elissa feel like when they are "banned" from a park!
